You are doing a fantastic job at elevating Escape to even a higher level in the overall customer experience in purchasing and owning an RV. We are proud and happy owners of a 2020 21NE and love watching all the videos and being part of the Escape family.

Good explanation guys. We have the 17B with the Escape factory Dometic AC. It works very well and a couple of times very happy to have it. It is loud. Looking at the Dometic web site it is the only model they do not list a surge current for, maybe it has some kind of softstart built in. The running current is only 10 Amps. Ours runs easily on a Honda eu2000 generator, voltage is 120 while running. The Progressive Surge Protector does not trip.

Very nice. Can the Dometic heat strip also be controlled from the wall thermostat?
@m.mickeypayne98113 жыл бұрын
Glad to see you have the fan and vent option. I have lived in Florida without AC, but, whenever I buy an Escape, I'll be in the PNW, where temps rarely hits 80 in the summers.

Hey Karl, I'm guessing that the high-low fan indicator on the smart phone is correct. While the fan is running in the low mode you see high on the phone. If you then wish to turn the fan to high you tap on high and viola.

Thx David. I'll need to check it again. I expect you are right and this is probably just first time user error on my side.

You could spray paint the ac units white with the same paint the car retailers use on the rims.

Can you please do a test on Harrier Plus aircon by Dometic
@Citizen0002 жыл бұрын
There is an option to install a second fan instead of an A\C unit. What would the noise level be operating the two fans,one pulls from outside air, the other pushes out from the trailer, etc. Also how would the comfort level be in the relatively humid summer climate in southern Ontario? Trying to get a sense of the need for an A\C unit in the NE areas where humidity is the devil, not so much heat temperature. Thanks for your great videos and guidance!!

Is there any appreciable difference in the interior profile of the Dometic vs the Colman with regard to headroom?
@takeyourescape3 жыл бұрын
No there is not. They are different profiles and the Coleman visually looks shallower.

Are you guys going to keep looking for a quieter option for the 17?

I don’t know about Dometic, but I own a 2022 Winnebago Revel with the Coleman Mach 10 NDQ installed. Park the van, turn the engine off, use the inverter so that the AC can run. Sit on the bed in the rear of the van. Then turn the Mach 10 on low, use your phone to play music and let me know your experience listening to the music.

This man fully appreciating the little things in life hahahahaha I mean an air conditioner blowing on you in the back of a van while you play music on your phone?? IT DOESN'T GET BETTER!!!

Is a self leveling product,such as DiCor used to seal around the air conditioning unit on the roof and for other roof openings? Just wondering if fiberglass is treated differently that the rubber roofs on a lot of trailers.
@takeyourescape3 жыл бұрын
Proflex sealant works really well. Karl@Escape.

Gentlemen, If I were to open all the drawers and interior doors, would the air conditioner effectively dry the interior of an 5.0 trailer, while I slept.?

Coleman Mach 15,000 I had in my Transcend was amazing. They both would freeze you out. My new camper has Coleman Mach in the back and the front Dometic Evolution both 15,000. The Coleman just froze up on me so we shall see which one I like.

What’s the best small (9000BTU) AC that can be ran off Honda 2200 generator?
@aj-li4ly3 жыл бұрын
Can you guys confirm what color decal that is for the two-tone AC unit on top? Is that some sort of green?. Sorry for the off question but I like that color and I will be finalizing my build sheet soon.
@takeyourescape3 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the E19 in the showroom it is Forest Green. The E21NE in the showroom is Yellow Green (but I could not see it in the video). Karl@Escape

Great job as always. Regarding the Coleman NVQ soft start - is it already included or would one need to request it?
@takeyourescape3 жыл бұрын
At present to be safe, you should to request it. For our future orders which we expect to receive to Escape in May 2021 we are only going to order Coleman NDQ Mach 10 Soft Start in White (and we really hope they send the white). Karl@Escape
@donbeary63943 жыл бұрын
heh, hope they have that app sorted out (not really a problem but ...) I notice that the Coleman is listed for the 17 now ... good idea as using the trailer in the desert would require more work for a smaller unit

Should have used a decibel meter to measure sound. My Dometic Evolution is horrible. Poor design of interior unit. Why don't these AC's have a sleep timer that can run 1, 2 or 4 hours like my Honeywell fan that I run at night?
@kathyadams33663 жыл бұрын
Curious how loud it is. Don’t like the black.
@takeyourescape3 жыл бұрын
You can get a sense form the video. We do not have a sound level meter. It is a different noise, the Dometic sounds more higher pitch (to my ears). Karl@Escape
