Just watched for about the fourth time! Great video, very helpful. I might add that I ordered directly from BAL (with the part number you have listed for the 3/4") through their website and their cost was $21.00 each plus shipping and I received them in 2 days via standard UPS ground shipping. This is as of Oct 2, 2023.

The irony... “the rollers are available from Keystone”... what would it have taken to use them to begin with
@johnmckee54872 жыл бұрын
I recently added these rollers to my 2016 33' travel trailer. It is an ultra-light model, and the Accu-Slide system really wasn't up to the size and weight of our dining room/couch slide out. Over time the system began to move worse and worse, and no amount of cable adjustments and lubrication helped. I elected to add three rollers to my slide-out. The install went just about as easily as shown in the video, and the slide-out moves MUCH better now. Thanks for the helpful advice!

A couple questions... how high did you jack the slide? How do I know how high to mount the rollers to avoid them applying too much pressure to the bottom of the slide?

Installed 4 on each 12 foot slide made a big difference, ordered a new gearbox to have on hand just in case,
@jstar10002 жыл бұрын
I did this to my 12 foot kitchen slide. The rollers I bought lifted my slide probably a 1/4 higher then it originally was. It lets in cold air but it sure works better now. I did add another rubber seal piece over the roller area but it still lets in air when its cold. I live in Texas so its not really much of an issue. I did mine probably close to two years ago now and we use are RV a lot so its held up well and no major wear under where the rollers roll on the bottom as of yet. Its a must do if you don't have rollers and only a wear bar.

We have a new-to-us 2018 Keystone Cougar 32RLI. It has 3 slides. Front is rack and pinion, rear two are BAL Accu-Slide. one is almost 13 ft long and it's now making a darn awful loud pop after the slide moves out about 2 inches. And repeats. Its really cringe-worthy and it's hard for me to hit the IN/OUT button and witness it. I'm 6ft6in tall and I can see the chain and cable and motor just fine while I hit the button. I can't find where it's binding but it's violent when the tension is let loose. I want to do this but not the if not having rollers is my problem. Thank you for your video I'll watch it a few times.

Hi, thanks for making this video, extremely helpful. I have all the parts and am hoping to do the rollers on our Bullet. I got under ours and was looking around where the rollers screw into and it’s not like I thought at all. I figured it would be screwing through steel but now I think I realize that you use a more aggressive screws like tapcons because it’s not going into any metal. Is that correct? Thanks!
@CollaGoUnLTD2 жыл бұрын
You are correct the material that you screw into is pretty light and a mix of sheet metal and wood it seemed. The more aggressive screws grabbed a lot better and have held great.

When the slide is all the way out does the slide level up and take the weight off the rollers?

I'd also like to know how SEALED your repair. Seems like it might be hard to do, but very necessary.
@CollaGoUnLTD2 жыл бұрын
I used gasketed washers to seal the screws however you could easily use dicor non leveling lap sealant to seal it all even more.
@FailsafenetworkInc2 жыл бұрын
@@CollaGoUnLTD Thank you, but I meant "how did you seal the gap between the slideout and the camper frame. That is, in order to install the rollers you had to cut out a section of the wearbar and wiper seal. I'm wondering if you RE-SEALED those places where you cut out the original seal.

I have a 2019 Keystone Cougar and the wear bar measured from the floor to the top of the wear bar is about an eighth of an inch short of 3/4 inches. I assume I have a 3/4 wear bar because it is way higher than 1/2 inch as measured from the floor. Was your measurement to determine wear bar size similar?
@CollaGoUnLTD3 жыл бұрын
Correct, it’s not an exact measurement it’s just close to either of the two.
@ScottDLR2 жыл бұрын
Did this help with the slide rubbing against the floor?
@CollaGoUnLTD2 жыл бұрын
The slide should technically it be rubbing on your floor directly. It should be normally sitting/sliding on the wear bar. The rollers help to get it up off the wear bar, reducing friction helping the slide to move more easily.
@bobnelms2 жыл бұрын
When you drill the holes to install these rollers, what are you drilling into? Wood, metal, ?? I'm leery of the screws stripping out. Should I be?
@CollaGoUnLTD2 жыл бұрын
Mine definitely went into metal which is why had to predrill the holes. I think every camper will probably be a little different material wise on what will be screwed into.

How much did you jack the slide up? Is it just for more room to work or are you lifting the slide off the wear bar? Thanks!

Great video and very helpful. I measured my wear bar at 3/4 inch and received the exact same roller type as shown in your video. These are fantastic, solid and well-made units. Question : did you have to saw out a section of the wear bar to make the short flat part of the L-Shaped bracket sit snugly or was there enough room. Some videos, show owners using a different type of roller and they have to saw out a section of the wear bar/dust seal etc. Because these rollers extend out from the side wall perhaps it doesn't need such surgery to the weather strip/wear bar?Tthanks for any help you can give.

Awesome glad it’s helped! And no, I did not have to cut into the wear bar at all, only the rubber weather seal on the outside.

Did your slide bounce up and down a lot going in and or out before you installed the rollers. I have a 2018 coleman lantern. I had to have a section of floor replaced due to a leak and it still jumps up and down when opening or closing?
@feliciawebb7353 жыл бұрын
Was your slide jumping and skipping when going in or out? Just trying to figure out if that is the gear box causing that or if the slide surface is just dirty. Awsome video thank you
@CollaGoUnLTD3 жыл бұрын
Most likely it is your gearbox going out causing the jumping and will probably need replaced regardless of roller install at this point, however the rollers being installed will definitely help to prevent another gearbox failure.

@lesbrady78734 жыл бұрын
Hi. thanks for posting all of this!!!! Question, are there instructions? I am wondering, once the slide is jacked up, how do you know where to mount the roller (how far up and down), to have it be just a hair taller than the wear bar, but not too high. Also, to have it high enough, so that when the weight of the slide is back on the rollers, its still above the wear bars. Thanks!!
@CollaGoUnLTD4 жыл бұрын
Hey Les, the roller is on an upside down L bracket so as long as you measure the proper height wear bar, and buy the corresponding roller and bracket, when you mount the roller it will stick up above the wear bar just a little bit. There is no having to measure up or down as to the height of where it has to mount. As far as spacing on the slide, you want them around 5-10” from the ends of the slide and then spaced evenly in the middle of the slide. Hope this helps!
@lesbrady78734 жыл бұрын
@@CollaGoUnLTD thank you for the quick reply. So there is a mark on the bracket somewhere so that there is only one place to mount it (up and down)? My local Keystone dealers are a pain. Make shure you tell people to note that the roller has a section that sets on the floor twards the slide bar. Also it is hard to see the thickness 1/2 or 3/4 I got the 1/2 by mistake I couldn't get into the area and the tape looked like 1/2 but it was 3/4 so I had to order the 3/4.
