Thanks Josh...I hadn't thought about the use vs aesthetics of those tables. I've never been a fan of the folding legs just because of the looks but you've made me look at that differently.

I'd love to know where to get the 'fancy pants' solution. The one that folds into a coffee table. We would appreciate it vastly.

I am the opposite. I have dream dinette with wall mount and absolutely love it. In my old travel trailer i had removable table and it sucked. Had to secure it every time or else it would move en route. I had 3 rvs like that and i put in the posts every time. I would only use one post, however smack center so you had security of knowing you can use table without knee bashing. I like secured tables.

Have you installed a pedestal table yourself? Do you think it is safe to screw the bases into the floor without messing something up?
@gunslingr454 жыл бұрын
My Forrest river had a dining table in front of the couch that it would take Houdini to take down and set back up. I pulled it, placed it in plastic and stored it in the garage. The wife bought a set of wooden TV tray set of 4 from Amazon and they work great. Much better height for eating and laptop work than the trick table also.

I want to change the dinette legs in the rv because the pedestals are a PITA to setup and tear down. Plus the pedestals wobble like a California earthquake

Hey can you show the other one you mentioned..I'm rebuilding and can modify the walls if needed. I have to rebuild the dinette, they built it in, on top of the shag carpet..to remove the carpet have to destroy the dinette to get it out oooh boy, it was in good shape before. So now I can build whatever from scratch. How about the table top that can move around like boats have.

The screws on the bottom of our dinnete table with those two tubes are coming off, I got three little one and they lean on it, that's what I think did it. What's my best and cheapest option here? Everytime I put the screws back on they come off. Any links on where to buy one of these options?

Again, my preference is the simple light weight folding legs. They're like $30 maybe. I'm working off my phone and don't have all my resources right now, so feel free to contact our team and we can have something shipped over from our warehouse. 800-256-5196

Yes. None of these prevent a bed-function of the dinette!

I am currently building a dinette with a pedestal table because the "free standing" table, that was standard on the Forest River, Coachmen, Freedom Express, RBS192, with a useless sofa-sleeper and free-standing table, that are extremely unstable and dangerous, unless you have the insatiable desire to clean floors and fall, due to relying on the table for support, due to the table tipping very easily. I did not believe that a dinette could be installed on that small slide-out. However, I designed one that should work. I will provide plans and photos to anyone who is experiencing the same frustration with the useless waste of space with the sofa-sleeper (that only a person less than five feet in height could use.)

I am doing the opposite... The folding brackets under my dinette table are so cheap they are constantly giving out allowing the table to collapse if too much weight is put on the table. My Mother is 90 and needs to use the table as support to get stand up. I like your idea of the table being able to be relocated outside but it is just to chincy. I am looking forward to the new tubes I ordered.

I have the same issue with twin toddlers. They're so rough on the table that the flimsy folding legs bend and get progressively weaker until they can no longer tolerate any force (like climbing children). I am trying to replace the folding legs with a sturdier product but am having no luck finding anything online so far. My table is also the middle section of the optional bed, so I can't really mess around with the size of the table top or else it won't fit perfectly into its groove while in bed (or transport) mode.

Can you fold them up and drop it down to use as the extra bed?
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
It depends on which style you're looking at. None of these will prevent you from using the table as a sleeper if that function previously existed

Do the legs fold up to make the bed?

Depends on which type you're looking at. As long as it's a booth style you can make it a sleeper of some kind

On average what does one of those elliptical bases cost? When we sit at a table we usually are not eating, cards and barley pop are involved, lol. I have seen those pedestal tables get wobbly real quick with people that like to lean on the table top, as inebriated folks are want to do. Are those bases all pretty similar in size or are there two main sizes as it appears on some of the U-dinettes as well? Sorry for the long/multiple questions, keep up the great work!
@JoshtheRVNerd6 жыл бұрын
Last I checked they were in the low to mid $200's. Possible solution to the wobbly table: install a table-to-wall bracket or two so it just can't move.
@brettjohnson68076 жыл бұрын
That's why you are the master. Inexpensive is my middle name, wall brackets will be my go to. Thank you for the quick response and have a great day!

@@JoshtheRVNerd I just found this video and the reason was to change out the table and bench seats. But as others have asked, I would like to purchase the inexpensive table leg you mentioned last in the video that still allows the table to fold down and be a bed too. Which legs are these? I hav searched all the previous links that were provided in this thread and have yet to locate them. Thank you.

Where do you find the dinet leg idea
@isaaclee15783 жыл бұрын
Josh great video. I recently bought 2021 Jayco Whitehawk. 1st dinner in the new camper and my table completely fell off. Dinner ruined. Casualties were Pizza and Beer. If you ever talk with Jayco design team, please tell them to redesign the U shape dinette table? Don't know how they thought 1 inch screws can hold table with so much tension. Also the hardware doesn't even fit correctly. Bad design and I will be using your idea with the table legs. Thanks Again!!
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
What style of mount system is that? Being a 2021 would that be the angled bracket that hooks directly to face of the dinette base itself?

That's one of those features I miss as well. We show just about anything and everything we can here, but sadly most dealers just do not. Many customers never saw the feature, so they never sought it, so most MFGs quit offering it.
