@@deltabravo1257 when it's over a 100 in Apache Junction, Arizona, and you're 74 you spend too much time watching KZbin, dreaming of travels for future years. 2017 started building new class b Ford Transit RV. I'm glad that our 2020 White AF 811 does not have that handle. The ladder works out great.

I really don't know why Northwood offers the handle as an option on the earlier model (white) campers. I find that even after cutting the handle, I still use the ladder as a grab handle - it's closer to me to reach as I go up the steps.

Did you have one on your old 811?

My 811 didn't have the big handle. I think it had a small handle. I always used the ladder as my grab handle when going up the steps.
