Watching this video is very interesting. Good for training purposes for sure. Member with hoodie on shouldn't even be anywhere around the fire. Mask on, no packs. At least put packs on being that close to the fire. If pump is oos on the tank, then the next piece should have been the engine that took over suppression. Looks like full volunteer dept, I come from one as well, but you have to think of the members on the line and everything else. Good video, just train more to prevent some of this stuff for further calls.

Not sure why the tanker didn't start once on scene filling the engine some FFs just walking around trying to figure out what to do. Was on a VFD and our first job was safety and don't run out of water.

Luckily, it's just a RV fire! My concern is if you're the pump operator/engineer, stay with the truck! Find a way to pump from tanker to engine, or set up dump operations. Every department has their operations set. On a positive side, up close & personal on the fire scene. Cool, yet can be educational!

how many psi do you turn yours up to on a fire scene?
@NathanielTexas5 күн бұрын
Depending on who is on the other end of the hose and what they’re doing… I’ll start you out anywhere between 50-80 (also taking incline/gravity in for account) but our crosslay lines can only handle 110 PSI max

All volunteer station that needs more training on how to get water from dump tank to pumper

@@EmoryWard-l3f As training is always encouraged by everyone no matter how smooth the operation went, this was a simple mistake made my myself that I have not let go because I would’ve set this up differently if I had remembered that our tanker couldn’t pump at the moment. Can only offload through the dump valves

I was thinking the Tanker should have started to nurse E91 soon as it got there. Kind of a waste not to.

That's what I was wanting to do but I forgot the pump is out of service on the tanker. Can only off-load through the sides and rear dump valves
@rogerdehaven56036 күн бұрын
@NathanielTexas Well that's a great reason not to. Hope it's fixed SOON.

@@rogerdehaven5603 We're on a list to get it fixed. Problem with any WV firefighting... something breaks, takes forever to get into a shop to get it replaced/fixed

@NathanielTexas Yes a few years ago the local emergency equipment repair shop in Winchester Virginia closed and its difficult now getting that stuff fix.
