Good tips. I also periodically run some bleach solution through the freshwater hose to kill any mold that might be in there.

Excellent tips. I have 2 reverse osmosis systems in my home for all our drinking water and plan to add one to my AS too. Do you know of anyone else that has done this? This would be for drinking water only not our bathing/washing water.

Good information, thanks. I am new to RVs but quite shocked no one uses a required backflow prevention device, required to connect anything external to a drinking water system. I am a backflow inspector.

RV Geeks say use the back flow preventer on the black tank flush inlet to prevent sewer contaminated water from flowing into the potable water line since they and I use a “Y” connector at the faucet to attach both hoses (potable and black tank flush.) Is this incorrect?

You said during set up do the clean items first, electric and fresh water, and finish with sewer hose. Question, should we reverse that order when we break camp? When do we flush tank? Thanks for your video.
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 3 жыл бұрын
Breaking down down camp I do the sewer first then wash up before disconnecting the water. It really doesn't matter just ensure you can wash up before touching the fresh water connections/hose. Thanks for watching.

Great video and advice! My question is… which end of the water supply should the filter be located- at the source or at the point of entry into the rv?
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 2 жыл бұрын
As long as you keep the water hose clean it doesn't matter. I put mine at the water inlet on the RV so it will be up and off the ground. Appreciate your comment David, please subscribe if you haven't already and thanks for watching.

When I'm done with the water filter, can it just stay connected to the water hose for how ever long between uses? Was wondering if it being kept wet and in storage like that would be a problem?

Yes you can, this is what most people will do. I change mine about every 6 months. Thanks for watching.

If u ever found out, please comment. I’m trying to figure that out myself. For me (ADHD adult female) it makes sense to keep it connected so I have fewer steps. I am using several quick connects to streamline the process. OMG! Splitter, water pressure regulator, multiple hoses, etc. Thank GOD for KZbin 🙏😇

I have a question, I just bought an rv and I’m very anxious about what I can or cannot use my “fresh water for.” Do you cook and brush your teeth with it? Rinse vegetables ect…?
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do all of that. The "city" water you get at a campground will be potable or drinking water. If campground water is not suitable for drinking you will be told by campground management not to drink the water but that is very rare. We always fill (half tank or so) our fresh water holding tank at home to ensure we have some good water regardless of what we run in to. Please join My RV Mentor Facebook Group which will be great to help you along the way. Good luck and happy camping.

if i'm just filling my water reserve and not using city water full time, can i just fill it with a regular hose?
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can but I would use a hose made for drinking water. Garden hoses may have unwanted chemicals and materials such as lead. Thanks for watching.

Like the spraying the faucet idea. Once at a campground in a National Forest, a woman had dumped their portapotty in I hope the outhouse- then rinsed it at the public faucet. BARF!!! Some people have no brains.. She was probably about 50 and old enough to know better you'd think.

hello, can I fill my tank with a clean funnel and big 5 gallon bottles? I don't really want to use the hose everyone else s is using... seems sketchy or maybe I misunderstood something? My fresh water tank is 23 gallon (Airstream Bambi 16ft) FYI we (2 people) go on 3/4 days trips once or twice a month.
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can fill you tank that way. Thanks for watching and happy Airstreaming.

would using the fresh water hose for the black water flush be ok if I also used a one way valve?
@LandingZoneHome
@LandingZoneHome 4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't take a chance on it. Best to used a dedicated hose for black tank flush. I have a 8' grey hose (link in description) that works good for me and I store it separately from the fresh water hose like to saw in the video. Thanks for watching.
