Good job! you're right - HF used to be junk, but in recent years its competitive with Lowes, etc. I generally get stuff i won't use every day (ball joint puller, etc) there. May be harder to use and heavier, but much much cheeped. thanks

A good practice I’ve adopted is loading your chocks by pulling the trailer against one set then insert the other two before releasing the tow vehicle brake while in neutral. The trailer settles down, both sets of chocks are tight and actually do their job. Takes a few more minutes but we’ll worth the effort. Btw I’m a new subscriber enjoying the channel 👋

Richard, were you camping at Spacious Skies in Luray last year? A guy that helped me properly torque up my distribution hitch gave me the exact same tip about chocking.

Looks like your HF RV gear matches mine 🙂 Just my personal preference - I'm not a fan of the 4 way lug wrenches because you can't get enough torque on them (unless you've got a pipe). I swore them off several years ago when I hurt my back taking off a wheel with one. I prefer to carry sockets and a breaker bar. You used to be able to get the click type torque wrenches on sale for $9.99. The new low tends to be $11.99 - aside from maybe black Friday or Independence Day. They work great and have a lifetime guarantee (I had to swap one out once after a year, super easy). I'll might pick up a set of those gloves. I'm currently using the cheap HF mechanics gloves. One thing I picked up early on was a HF Warrior 12v drill and light combo. It does everything I need it to do while out with my RV, and it was cheap enough that I wouldn't be too pissed off if it got stolen.

I definitely agree about their zip ties. I buy mine there. But I bought some black rubber bungee cords there and they didn’t last long at all. They broke at the hole where the S hooks go in. And they aren’t very stretchy. They don’t seem to be a good rubbery type material. And thank you for the tip on the socket adapters! I actually looked for those at Lowes and couldn’t find them. I just recently bought a 2014 Forest River toy hauler and I’ve been watching your videos to build my tool collection! It’s in really great shape but I still expect to have to do repairs from time to time and maintenance. But that’s ok, I’m good with that. Thanks again!

Make sure your sockets for removing a truck or RV wheel are 6 pt and not 12pt. Huge difference. Ask me how I know.
