Try to spatchcock the Turkey if it will fit and cook it at 375. Comes out great. I don’t have a GMG but I have a full size Rec Teq. Pellet grills make everything taste great without the heavy smoke. They make great beef jerky also. I enjoy your channel.

Too funny. Wife just bought a turkey home today and asked me to try it in our GMG Davy crockett. It's a 14 pounder. I'll let you know by if it fits EDIT smoked it at 225° for 6 hours that's when I hit inner temp. When I do it again I'll probably smoke it at a higher temperate. I had it in a foil pan so I wouldn't have much cleanup. It produced a lot of juice! Turkey turned out great but skin was rubbery because I smoked at a low temperature I think. I'll definitely do it again. That's a lot of meat!

I don’t know what you did professionally but if it didn’t include public speaking you may have missed your calling. 😂 I’ve been binge watching your videos and I’m learning so much before me and Regina have even bought our first RV. Thanks so much Tom and Stacy for sharing your lives and experiences with everyone. I’m loving the green mountain smoker videos. Was wondering if I'm tailgating and got the Davy Crockett hooked up to my truck battery does it drain battery fast?
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Great question Brad. We've never run it from a battery, so we can't speak from experience on this. I guess it would depend, at least in part, on the age and condition of your battery, and how long you are cooking. Green Mountain Grill built this model for tailgating, so it comes with a 12volt plug. They say the fan uses about 0.5 amps. Here's their spec page that has more power info... greenmountaingrills.com/products/grills/prime-wifi/davy-crockett-pellet-grill-wifi/
