He should try halibut. It is so mild that fish haters often will like halibut.

To me its 2nd next to Salmon . It even tastes good cold. My cousin brought some back and we deep fired it it was the best

Victoria, feed Craig some of the halibut and tell him it’s chicken. All of the halibut you had hanging except for the large one are considered chickens. Since it’s new to you, trim off any of the red bloodlines off of your fillets and it’ll taste much better. Thanks for posting and congrats on your fishing.

Bake it in the oven. Pan lined with aluminum foil, Slice and sauté an onion, spread the sautéd onion in a pan, salt & pepper the fish, place halibut on top of the onions, spread tzatziki over top of fish, sprinkle panko over top, bake in oven at 350 for 30 - 50 minutes (until fish flakes). Bottle of white wine and enjoy

I can't believe somebody from FL. doesn't like fish that halibut is some of the best fish you can eat. We always made Valdez our last place when we leave Alaska that way we would be there when the salmon arrived. We would get catch about 50lbs and canned it for later on sure is good. Be safe in your travels
@badgerpa9Ай бұрын
The paper towel holder pin works as a roller usually. Looked like a lot of fun. If you soak the halibut in light salt water in the fridge at least a couple hours then use some lemon and or lime when you cook it Craig might be ok to try it, Halibut is not to strong flavored. Stay safe and healthy.

The salmon run used to go through August. We went to Alaska for 5 weeks and needed up in the airport for 6 days waiting for a flight that wasn’t full of dead fish in ice chests. 😂😂😂 I will drive next time we go to Alaska for the summer. Keep in mind, it was almost 20 years ago when we went.

So let's set things straight with Halibut. It doesn't taste fishy like Trout, Salmon, or Catfish, although Catfish is really good.l😅 He's missing out. I think it's going to take at least a year for you to eat all of that halibut.

Yes Yes Yes. A Valtera valve is a must. Our black tank valve busted in open position passing through Texas. Because of valtera valve already in place we could continue trip until convenient to repair the black tank cable running to shutoff valve.

What a great place to go fishing! One thing I learned about freezing my fresh fish is put them in water then freeze them in the bags. They last longer and taste like you just caught them out of the freezer!
@1001GuitarplayerАй бұрын
You don’t have to do that if you vacuum seal. Only if you put them in ziplocks. The water only serves to remove air getting to the fish which isn’t needed since vacuum sealing removes the air 👍

Craig has the same attitude about fish as the hunting guides that accompanied Lewis and Clark. They wouldn’t eat fish and when they got to the Pacific Ocean where the Salmon were running, they traded with the local Indians and bought their dogs to eat (red meat) crazy.

Halibut tacos. Halibut curry. Halibut Olympia. You can boil the halibut in sprite and when it comes to the top it is ready, then drizzle it with lemon butter. Poor man's lobster.

Craig, you've got to start eating fish! I've finally gotten my wife from Indiana who was scared-to-death to eat fish to love Salmon, Grouper, Talapia, Cod, and Mahi Mahi. We're headed to Alaska like you in a couple of years and I'm sure I'll be able to get her to eat Rock Fish and Halibut.

Excellent video! Entertaining and informative! About walking on spring snowdrifts with water flowing underneath... Went through one time. My feet didn't reach bottom, I was hung up with my arms bridging the hole. I was able to pull myself out and crawl away. Went back a few days later. If I hadn't hung up at the surface, if I'd gone down to the bottom, my head would have been three or four feet below the surface. Really scary.
