Camping World in my area went from having a huge lot with tons of campers on it and a store that was probably would rival Home Depot in size. To a very small storefront. With about 20 RVs so they could show you.😂 It seems people have figured out a thing or two when it comes to Camping World! People are voting with their feet. If you follow other KZbinrs there's an attorney who actually put out a video and said he would never buy a new RV! This was after reading the contracts to only buy..He would only buy used through a private party. I totally agree with this attorney. Given their track record. Make sure you read the contracts!! Before you sign anything! Ask them if you could take those contracts and have your personal attorney look over it. I'll tell you what they're going to do, they're going to do everything in their power to stop you from doing that. They know if you read the contract. You'll see they aren't responsible for anything!! They can sell you a lemon and stick you with that dud and there is little to no recourse if you sign the contract. It appears all of the manufacturers are now doing this. They know they can get away doing this because most people don't read the contract and they don't research.

Had an encounter with a Camping World in Fairmont, WV 2 years ago. I will make my story short - We were not new to camping so we knew the ‘right’ way and the ‘wrong’ way to buy, sell, and ‘shop’ for a camper. We bought a used bumper pull from Camping world years ago for 18k. When we looked at it initially it had a crack in the glass front window, The dealer agreed to fix it before we picked it up and a deal was made. When we went to pick it up the window was not replaced and the sales person said they were not going to fix it and they were not required to fix it. I told the person to look at the sales contract before we get our lawyer. When they looked at the contract they saw the note for window replacement signed by the sales staff. It was then fixed but if we didn't have that in writing we would have been screwed by CW.. Horrible dealers.

I worked for Camping World in Idaho in sales for a grand total of 5 days. On the fifth day I walked out and said goodbye because of the way Camping World was conducting business, the sales process and the way they service them. Example, I have been in sales in the Tech industry all my professional life and always followed up with clients and kept in contact but with Camping World once you sell an RV the salesperson is done. I could not even be with the buyers during the walk-thru on day of delivery. Camping World believes in the three "F's"; Find' them, Fu*k them and forget them.

I walked into CW wanting to look at a Cougar 5th wheel. The newspaper said there was an RV extravaganza at this location. I pulled up and it looked like a regular old day. The rigs were all locked so went inside and was told every day is an extravaganza nothing different today. I asked to have the rig unlocked. I was led to a desk handed a clipboard with an application of sorts. I said Im only just begining to shop and just want to peek so my info isnt necessary at this point I'm not even sure what I'm going to by ye.t He became indignant and called his buddies over they said we need your information before you can look at it. I told them I'm not interested in giving my information merely to peek at a unit I don't want sales calls or literature just a look at the construction and floorplan his attitude immediately went cold, I said nevermind I'll go elsewhere and left. LaMesa RV in Arizona is also someone never to deal with read the reviews.

🔥 I am an RV expert witness, and I’ve gone up against a very large RV dealership, one of the bigger ones in the United States, and I proved that they were submitting fraudulent documents with forged signatures, trying to win the case, and when the lawyer hired me to get on the case, I exposed everything in front of the judge and the jury even though the RV dealers legal counsel tried to squash me he found out that that did not work. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

We’ve been looking for an RV since retirement. After looking at camping world we crossed them off our list of dealers. I felt like I needed a shower after leaving their show room. But, to be honest to buy a new RV and you found two pages of things that needed repair. That’s on Forest River. It should have never got out of the factory. To be honest my wife still wants an RV, but I’ve about changed my mind. Almost all manufacturers are putting out crap these days. Until states start putting in place RV lemon laws to protect the consumer and hold manufacturers accountable, nothing will change.

Same experience here. Our RV was in their shop most of 2 camping seasons. I would call to check on my camper and the service writer and manager were gone. I talked to the GM of the dealership. He'd promise to get it handled. After waiting for 3 days, I called and he was gone. We went through 4 GM's in 1 year. The finance staff and office staff all were gone. Camping World only works to put out the biggest fire. It forces you to become their biggest fire. I went in every day, got a chair from the showroom and sat in it right in front of the service writer's counter. I saw some poor guy wait for over 3 hours just to get his free propane tank fill they promised him. Scary thing is they have built several new stores in my area just in the last year or so.

We are in our 5th used rv , we have NEVER had a major problem. Now onto my brother, he purchased a new toy hauler from Camping World in Boise Idaho, 250 miles from their home. They went on their first rv adventure about a 500 mile round trip. after they got home he noticed some thing wrong with a tire it was all ready showing wear. Called Camping World numerous times, Oh it’s a defective tire. They shipped him a new tire. In the late spring they went on another trip about 1000 round trip. And another tire same position was showing wear. He took the rv back to Boise 230 miles. It sat on the lot for 2 or 3 weeks he called. No fix. Waited another couple weeks, no repair. After a month or more waiting they finally said that particular axel was bent. Half way through summer they finally got a new axel. The new axel fixed the tire wear problem. He said he WILL NEVER purchase another thing from CAMPING WORLD.

Yah, it amazes mw how so many people seem to have bought into this bullsh-t about the "romance of the open road", and "seeing the country"......not realizing how much a camper/RV/5th Wheel or whatever will actually COST them. I travel at least either every month, or every other month with my frequent flyer miles, my free checked bag (on SW/UA/AA/JT) stay in hotels, get food from the Dollar Store or an inexpensive local grocery (sometimes I eat out) and I travel LIGHT......and then I come home to my house and my cat. Someone ELSE had to get me there, and put me up when I got there. And unless I rented a car when I was there, I paid ZERO for gas. And I didn't have to worry about anything breaking either! We are on our 14th RV in 30 years. We BOTH walk through separately each one with a notepad. We pull drawers, open backboard, looking for issues. We make them FILL all the tanks, run the pump, run the lights, check the batteries, check the solar operation, etc. We'll each come up with a different hit list of things to be remedied before we sign. We've never gotten good vibes from any Camping World dealer, going to them only to look at floor plans. We CAN recommend R & R RV dealerships in Spokane, Washington as on of the better ones we've come across.

No... we started with a used 7' camper on a '91 S10 pickup with 3 kids. Our new ones have been a '97, '98, '00, '01, '04 & '20 as kids, family and needs grew, so do our rv's. At various times the size of our rv's (and my wifes complaints about using the new large rv's for fishing/hunting trips) had me think about buying used older canned hams/campers and renovating them for my uses. An old Caveman 10' camper was my practice unit (lost cause and a waste of money). I then did a '59 & a '64 ham, both sold for twice what I had into them before I even got to use them. Also did a small '75 21' 5th.

With all the stories about newer RV's being built so poorly, and dealers like that who are anything but on the customer's side, buying new was out of the question for me. When I was ready to upgrade, I bumped into a steal. Friends were downsizing their big diesel pusher, it'd been pampered with life in a shop when it wasn't in use. So I have a '99 Gulf Stream (not one of the brands I would have been looking at) 38 foot diesel pusher that has most of the bugs shaken outta it already. At 71K miles, it's barely broke in. Keep up the videos. Something to be shared with new RV'rs.

We paid cash for a brand new Jayco Pinnacle 36SSWS last year. This was the 3rd camper we have owned. It took them 4 months to order parts, took 3 weeks to make the repairs only to find out that they didn't fix anything, which included a water leak under the bedroom slide out where the washer is. The BMPro pad failed and they installed the replacement but did not reconnect the solar panel controller. They were very eager to take our money but they really showed no interest it ensuring our 5th wheel was repaired correctly or timely after we handed over our check. Our unit disables the slides and landing gear when being transported, so it has a reset switch inside to enable them, Camping World had no idea about this - I had to tell them. Then come to find out our unit sat on the lot for one year, due to this Jayco refused a couple interior repair items and Camping World refused to make the repairs as well. We ended up taking to a locally owned dealer who made all repairs in 2 weeks and everything works now that wasn't before. We even found out that camping world replaced the batteries with cheap sub par batteries that wouldnt even run the hydraulic leveling system correctly.

Looked at all brands of travel trailers for 2 years before we purchased. 2017 Airstream International was first. Great trailer. 2 years later a 2019 Airstream Flying Cloud 25' Rear Bad Twin. 5 years later and over 500 nights it is still performing perfectly. Bought from Out of Doors Mart, now Blue Compass, in Greensboro, NC. Airstreams are expensive. Not all of them are without problems. Our experience has been very positive. I’m so sorry you had those issues. We’ve had multiple (27-can you say lemon!) issues with our new fifth wheel, which we purchased in February 2023. I will say that we’ve been very lucky with our local CW, as the service staff have been wonderful to us and they’ve always had smiles on their faces when they see us walk in, which was a lot. Even when the bedroom slide broke (after only 2 trips), they took it in, looked at it, and said the slide mechanism would need to be replaced, which required the complete removal of that slide. Since it would take some time for the parts to come in, and we had another trip planned, we were able to take that trip until the parts came in. Granted, camping in a rig where you cannot extend the bedroom slide (which is the bed itself) is not great, but we made due. Once the parts came in, we brought it back and they fixed it right away. Again, I believe we are just lucky to have such good, caring people working at our local CW, as there are so, so many horror stories. Wishing you continued safe travels!

Bought New 2021 Heartland North Trail Ultra Lite from CW in Central Florida. When Purchased, I also bought the "5 YEAR Extended Warranty" as I Was TOLD (Lied to) it was a BUMPER2BUMPER Warrently that Covers EVERYTHING. Turns out, the EXT. WARRENTY COVERS VERY...VERY LITTLE IF ANYTHING!! The RV I purchased has had 1 issue after another... (1) have a ROOF LEAK in the Bathroom, above the Shower [have checked Every Seal, Corner, Edge, Vent Opening, etc.etc on roof to find leak area...NODDA!] , (2) ALL Waterlines LEAK at the Joints... I've pretty much Replaced ALL Water Joints that I can get to.. Still have some Leaks. (3) THE ENTIRE REAR WALL of RV has the Fiberglass separating from the Wood Backing. (3) Outside Lights don't turn on... CW WONT COVER THE ROOF REPAIR, WONT COVER THE REAR WALL REPAIR... HEARTLAND makes a very POOR QUALITY PRODUCT... CAMPING WORLD sells these POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS and then AVOIDS COVERING WHAT THEY PROMISED!!! MY ONLY ADVICE I CAN OFFER..... AVOID THE CROOKS AT CAMPING WORLD AND NEVER BUY A HEARTLAND RV FROM ANYONE!!!!!! FUCK YOU CAMPING WORLD!!!!!!!!

I believe Thor bought Heartland just like they recently bought Tiffin. Heartland, at one time, made a very good unit just like Tiffin made a good unit. I was talking to a new Tiffin owner in the campground last night, and his unit was diffently not built up to the same quality that 2019 Tiffin was. I say all that because Camping World is buying lots of nice mom and pop rv dealerships just like Thor and Forest Rivers are buying great brands. Then these mega companies cut corners for profit. These huge companies are ruining the RV industry. Just my two cents worth.

You are correct we bought a fifth wheel RV from camping world. The day we went down to pick it up, going over everything found the light and fan over the stove missing. Found the chairs for the table missing. Found the spare tire missing. Found the TPMS not installled that we order when we purchase the RV. Got with the Service Manager , the Salesman, and the Store Manager they said that the fifth wheel we purchased did not come with a Spare tire that was and option. Well that did not set good with me I called Keystone direct and the Customer Service lady advise me not to worry. We stayed there and within an hour we had everything replaced. The Store Manager would not talk to us anymore. The Salesman came out and said he was sorry for the issues. If my wife would have not loved the layout I would have walked away and went to another RV dealer. After we got home called back a month later found the salesman had quit. And as far as the warranty on RV’s go’s not worth the money you spend upfront.

It’s not just Camping World. It’s the fact that new RVs are so poorly built that dealers can’t keep up with the warranty repairs. Our 2021 RV had an issue the first night. The more I hear of these stories the more I'm convinced that the only good option is a self-build camper van that you can easily repair yourself as you're the one that built it. RVs are poorly built, over priced and clearly the entire dealer/service industry is corrupt with few exceptions, Camping World not being one of the exceptions and probably the worst. It's really sad to see. We have bought 3 trailers through Camping World and had nothing but good experience. We also had a lot of repair and warranty work through them. This was a specific one that was an independent dealer that was bought by Camping World and most all the people were the same. Now this was many years ago and as they have grown bigger and bigger they seem to have only gone downhill. It is a real shame.

Have a CW 5 minutes from my house! Trailer I wanted was not in their stock SO I ended up driving 16 hours round trip to get what I wanted...2 weeks later I was going to clean it outtsde as it was pretty grungy looking for a brand new canper....Got up to the roof and was shocked to see there was a 2" deep dent for about 5' right where whomever installed the flat panel solar panel as it came standard on this model which looked like a pond on my roof! Called my local dealer and was told they couldn't work on it as it was brand new and came from another CW location....

I bought my new Sunseeker from Adventure Motor Homes in Greer, SC, and it was a great experience. I provided them with a list of things that needed to be fixed before I took delivery, and they took care of those items as well as inspecting the whole camper. I didn't encounter any problems and am preparing to hit the road once more. Additionally, I ordered some Forest River parts to install my spare tire underneath, and found the parts department to be outstanding.

I feel your pain I purchased a 2022 5th wheel from Camping World. I went round and round with them about different things from what I wanted done from my initial walk through. I purchased $5,000.00 of additional equipment . They lied about EVERYTHING from the get go I wanted a Reese goosebox they tried to sell me a ranch hitch with a 4” offset OMG do you think I am stupid I had a second A/C installed and tpms system. I finally lost my cool with them and asked” don’t your departments talk to each other!!!. I like you went two three times a week and on every Saturday to check on the lies and hollow promises they made me. I finally said “ keep your “@&$? Camper I’m getting my lawyer and I’ll get my down payment back and headed for the door the Manager heard the commotion and intervened “ Mr Bla bla what can I do to make this right. I said “STOP LYING” get my camper finished. At the end I received everything I was owed and a free cover for my camper. But like I told them it ruined my buying experience this is my first new camper it was suppose to be a nice experience but it wasn’t it was a poop show. So yeah NO NO CAMPING WORLD

I had my RV winterized at Camping World the first year I bought it. For the past two years I have called their service department to schedule a time to get it done again and have been told that no one was available to talk to talk to me but they took my information and said someone would call me. 3 to 4 days later they would call but by then I had already taken it soneplace else and got it done. I will not do business with them ever again.

We have bought 3 units from Camping World knowing that we were liable for all warranty issues. After Camping World gave us there bottom dollar out the door price we offered them 10K less and walked out the door. 2 out of the 3 times we never made it out the door and the 3rd time they called us a day later and accepted our offer. Most of our repairs were minor and the more complicated issues we just hired a certified service tech to make the repairs. We have never spent the entire 10K that we anticipated at the time of sale. Camping World will always give you the best price.

I’ve only been once to CW that was enough for me,rude people and everything I looked at was overpriced, substandard inventory! The lots I pass on the freeway are always overloaded with trailers, not surprising because the industry has dropped quality control and they aren’t upholding warranties! I’m building my own because of these hacks!

We bought a 24 foot Class C from CW. Took it back after a few weeks of minor issues (vent screens not clipping in, door not always locking, drawer not closing, etc). They kept it for 7 weeks and only spent 1.5 hours on it and all the stuff was still not fixed. I give customer service a minus 10.

We bought a travel trailer and when we picked it up, we planned to take it a short distance to a rv park to test it out. We got about 6 or 7 miles when my husband states it felt like the vehicle was pulling. He looks out the side mirror and tires are smoking. We got to rv camp right away and unplugged the cord . we had roadside assistant from camping world we had bought. We called no answer but answering machine told us to call during the given business hours??? We called campingworld and they told us to bring it back next day. To basically return with no brakes except on our car. We left it and it took 3 months to fix it because keystone plant was on a shutdown. We missed camping trips we had planned. We won't buy from them again.

I had just purchased an older class a motorhome. It had been repaired and I am sure it will need more repair. I am tempted to take the unit down to the frame and build it up myself my way. As I am not profit driven I am sure it will cost a lot and take a lot of work but it just may be worth it.
