Also, be sure to go to Ocean City for some beach and boardwalk fun…it’s your best family ocean resort. Sorry you missed Pitmans 4th of July parade….real down home fun where the people put their chairs out days ahead! Enjoy your northeast trip. Be sure to go to our fav….Vermont. I used to live in IL before moving to TX over 20 years ago. Hannibal MO wasn't far away and they have Tom Sawyer days for the week before 4th of July. Fireworks are done from a barge in the river and the reflection of the fireworks in the river is beautiful. There is lots to do in the week leading up to the 4th too. There is a craft show in the park, you can tour the famous cave, they have a frog jumping contest and a fence painting contest as well. I used to go every year until I moved. Just an idea for next year. A lot of history in Hannibal and the surrounding area.

Oh pleeze don't lump all of New Jersey in with the NYC metro area! That's where you'll hear that awful "Joizy" accent. I'm a 609 native (South Jersey) and have lived in 201 (North Jersey but near the Delaware Water Gap). Lived in Pitman while attending Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). Now I live on the edge of the Pine Barrens. Although farming and gardens are disappearing and more houses and warehouses are taking their place, it's called the Garden State for a reason. Glad you were able to experience some of the rural parts of "my state". Most of it looks nothing like what you saw on the Sopranos! Also glad your children were able to experience the founding history of our United States.
