When prepping for a trip, I use a vacuum sealer (we love our Food Saver) to package portions of dry goods, fresh or frozen meats and fish, leftovers, and cheese to save space and keep things fresh longer. I make casseroles, spaghetti sauce, and meatloaf, then freeze in RV freezer-sized rectangular containers, remove when frozen and then vacuum them.

Wow lucky those who travel with you. I took a remote kayak/hike trip with a company in Alaska and they vacuum sealed amazing meals stored in bear proof containers. Roughed it outside but ate so well. Great tip.

My best mod is using a Camplux campground on-demand water heater to give me endless hot water (until the propane runs out) with campground or external water is available. Now there is a choice between hot water from the tank or the Camplux with the turning of a valve. Requires a knowledge of plumbing.

It looked like Phil & Stacy also had Reflectix inside their cabinets on the outside wall. I’m trying to think of other ways to insulate the rig, for instance we get a “breeze” from under our slides. I might get some insulation blankets cut to size under my slides and attach them with Velcro when setting up. Rob

Love your videos, but have questions about switching fridges. All of our research says you must switch wiring. The difference from AC to DC requires a much bigger wire to be done safely. That has stopped us from making the switch to date. Everyone should check their wiring before making this upgrade.
@GratefulGlamper2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, you won’t necessarily need to change wiring depending on your application: The couple we spoke with that installed the 12 volt fridge used the same 12awg wire that was connected to the old fridge and just added a fuse. The wire size safety specs for our Dometic DC4101 are as the following from the manual. “ Wire Size Maximum Length Wire Size 13 AWG2 8.0 ft (2.4 m) 8 AWG 12 AWG 13.0 ft (4.0 m) 6 AWG 10 AWG 20.0 ft (6.1 m) Wire Size and Maximum Length 13 AWG is up to 8.0 ft (2.4 m) 12 AWG is up to 13.0 ft (4.0 m) 10 AWG is up to 20.0 ft (6.1 m) There is a link to their install video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHOlXoSLrLCgjZY

Well your mattress sounds great but I have a dream cloud with 365 day trial. Some times 120 days may not be enough if you have injury's like I do. Hitting the pavement sometimes at 180 mph, I was a Motorcycle Racer, makes sleeping difficult so the extra time, I hope, will help decide what level of mattress I need. Can't and would not on your channel recommend anything, except this may be important for people with injuries. I can say I have not decided yet. But hopefully the extra time will help.

ALL manufacturers of RV’s should be embarrassed. They put in complete garbage for mattresses, whether it’s a $20K travel trailer or a $100K toy hauler. We’re talking about a couple of hundred dollars if they signed a quantity deal with mattress manufacturers. Even if they pass the cost on to us, it would be so much better than the joke of a mattress they all put in. It’s really disgusting what they do. Wish there was a manufacturer who had balls to change the industry and put in mattresses that people can actually sleep on. That will never happen unfortunately…HORRIBLE!
