There is one more thing to consider about the alignment, most of your driving is with the trailer connected and the alignment is being done without the weight on the bed of the truck. If tire wear is somewhat of an issue still you would want to mention that so the technician could compensate for the additional weight in setting the alignment. Awesome work on the videos. Safe travels.

"It never hurts to ask." My wife Renée has a similar saying that she has taught our children when they were very young. "The answer is always no unless you ask". Now, even if you ask, the answer might be no. But you'll never know unless you ask. I love this and have used this all throughout my business travel career of 35 years. I cannot tell you how many times a simple and respectful ask is answered with a yes. Safe travels Hanks. My wife and I are probably a year out from going full-time!

You two are making our next biggest trip!!! We had this basic trip planned TWICE…the first time we hit bad roads in Indiana, threw our camper off the edge of the highway, bent the frame, and totaled our sweet “Not Murphy”. Couldn’t continue. Bought a new Reflection 337 RLS. Next time…husband had surgery for torn meniscus in early May…we were set to leave May 31…but on May 23 I jumped off a falling ladder and sprained my ankle and broke my heel. Ding dangit! Entire spring, summer, and fall of 2024 CANCELLED 😞! BUT….next September…we’re doing it! MO, ILL, IN, OH, NY, PA, CT to see son, RI, NH, ME, VT, PA, NY, OH, IN, IL, home to MO. The tolls out East are rough. We don’t have them in MO.

Learned a great lesson from my Grandpa many years ago. The best time to go buy a new vehicle is in a cold wet rainy day. Don’t ever walk in and talk to a sales person. Walk the lot on that cold wet rainy day….let the sales person come to you. If that person comes out, you’ve found yourself an honest sales person. Still holds today…..I can’t tell you how many lots I walked away from because no one came out!

@wisconsintraveler9397Ай бұрын
I used to be a grounds keeper at a campground that I was seasonal at. It doesn't take 4 hours to clean one site but you have to remember that collectively you are trying to get all the sites that were just vacated. Picking up garbage, shoveling out the fire pits or sometimes putting the fire out first, and then raking or leaf blowing the pad to make it look presentable. Not all people are polite and have common sense to pick up after themselves but for most of the RV/camping community, they are good people. Also sometimes that is the only time we get to cut the grass as well.

DUDE! NEVER take a dealership at their word! Also, you never buy tires from a dealership!!!
@Fam4MooreАй бұрын
That's not always true! I bought my last ones from the dealership because their prices were just slightly more, maybe $20, but since I bring it in to get the oil changed I know they will rotate the tires as they need to be rotated without me having to take it else where to get them rotated. I do agree that it never hurts to get a second opinion, I have saved some money and got good work preformed at other places too. I once checked on getting a muffler replaced at the dealership, I had already check with a muffler shop and it was going to be around $200.00, the dealership wanted $800.00. Discount Tire, if they have them in the area you are at, would be a good place to have give you another estimate.
@Mistermatt1984Ай бұрын
I bought tires from the dealer years ago, they did the 3 get 1 free it ended up being comparable as Discount Tire. Additionally they stored them in the summer for me, stored my summers in the winter and mounted and balanced them for free. That said repairs, I am always more skeptical.
@alantaylor792Ай бұрын

Former mechanic here, if a shop calls you and says they've found something else other than what you brought it in for, please always ask for a short video demonstrating the problem. If they can't send that footage to you, chances are it's not true. If they can, chances are that footage of your rig's ailments are already on r/justrolledintotheshop.
@Mike-mk7sfАй бұрын
don't say never, I got my tires at the dealer for less than I could on discount tire or tire rack during the buy 3 get 1 free sale

Highly recommend McLoons Lobster Shack in Thomaston. The Coastal Main Botanical Gardens is so picturesque with 5 Giant trolls. After you've had your fill of Maine, you might also want to consider heading north to Saint Martens NB. There is a great campground on the Bay of Fundy - Century Farm Family Camp Ground. There is so much to see there, the sea caves and the the Fundy Trail Parkway (4 waterfalls) scenic drive are beautiful. Safe travels to you both!!

I just wanted to say that you are both awesome and I love the videos! I don't own an RV yet but I have been to most states in the US, watching your videos brings back a lot of memories. You should consider getting a lifetime alignment from a national store like Firestone which will allow you to pay once and get an alignment every time you need one at any store, I paid less than $300 for mine and with as much traveling as you guys do, I would recommend getting one every 10,000 miles because we both know, truck tires aren't cheap!

The coastal interstates up through New England are the busiest routes, with tons of (sometimes aggressive) traffic and congestion. Lots of tolls as well. You might enjoy more northerly routes when you head west. You would find spectacular scenery, charming small towns, many RV campgrounds and a more relaxed experience. Usually lower campground prices and very few tolls. When towing our 30' west from midcoast Maine, we prefer heading to around Lake Champlain before turning south. You might enjoy the difference. Safe travels!

I’ve learned a lot from you guys, we just bought our first camper, sold house and are full timing in my last year in the military. I have a f250 and just got a forced first trip because of the hurricane, I learned that after moving in we increased the weight, and my truck will now be getting airbags installed in the middle of this evac. That trip was nerve racking on 95 heading to South Carolina.
