I'm really glad to see the small, but needed kitty litter place, what it is, the little fence around it etc. And of course all the usages of command strips. LOL. While we don't have a kitty right because our beloved Patience recently died, we'll get another kitty, and hopefully also a dog to travel with us.

There are 2 major reasons for someone to click the thumbs down button on a good video. 1. Unfortunately, there are people who watch youtube videos, who are jealous of the lifestyle that the vlogger lives, who will click the down thumb button out of pure jealousy, insecurity, and fear of missing out. 2. Some people are extremely judgemental and will click the down thumb button because of some tiny, barely noticeable mistake the vlogger made. Or they don't agree with the way the vlogger made the video. An example would be something as tiny and ridiculous as being picky about the background music that the vlogger chooses because they use country music and the viewer is a fan of rap.

I really appreciate your channel, the effort you both put into the videos, and very much your clear, commanding style of communication without all the “umms, likes, uhhhs” that you find in other videos. I do have one idea that may help you gain some additional storage: for you solar components taking up half your pass through, you can make a small shelving system with skeletonized walls for venting and mount it to full length drawer slides so it only occupies half the space, tucks in against the center partition, you can store common items in front of it. If you need to access it in any way, you just slide it up to the edge, could even use a quick detach system so you can easily pull the components out to service them.

The more I watch your videos the more impressed I am with your intelligence and ingenuity. If you haven't as of yet I would suggest looking into a Berkey Water Filter. Between my 90 pound lab and myself we drink nearly a gallon of water each day. Would not be able to do that with out my water filter system. I made mine using two stainless steal pots from Walmart and bought the Berkey filters. Saved over $100.00 over buying a Berkey. Two eye hooks and a bungee strap keeps it secure next to the sink. There are how to videos on youtube. Thanks for the info. Safe travels.

Our dinette is in the slide and I'm going to replace it with a desk like you did. We have a murphy bed that folds down over our couch and I'm going to pull the couch out and build a box for storage and just leave the bed down on top of it. That tub presents a golden opportunity - a recirculating shower! You could get a 12 volt submersible pump with a separate shower head and fill the tub with your shower water, then turn on the pump and enjoy as long of a shower as you want while boondocking! Of course, warm or hot water will eventually cool down - but, wouldn't it be a great way to cool down when it's hot?

A suggestion - move the fire extinguisher so it's at a more accessible height. I moved mine farther up the wall after my Nephew pointed it out on my trailer. I think trying to access it in a hurry where it's currently located could prove to be a challenge.

Great episode. Some questions: 1. I am curious as to why you decided to buy new? Most full-time RV channels I follow recommend buying used. 2. Have you considered permanently securing the storage door that no longer has storage? 3. What is the purpose of the tire covers on the trailer tires? (And why wouldn't I put covers on the tow vehicle?) 4. Is humidity/condensation an issue in your home? (If yes, how do you deal with it?) 5. What food recipes have you “discovered” since being on the road? 6. I notice that some full-time RVers cover nearly every wall and ledge with pictures, artwork, keepsakes, etc. These items in your home seem very well thought through, well organized and complimentary of each space. What is your theory for decorating the spaces? 7. Is one of your pets recognized as “the leader” by the other pets? (Sweetie is beautiful)
@FateUnbound5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gordon! 1. We bought new because we were searching for RVs on dealer lots and we came across one layout that we really liked and didn't like the idea of buying used at the time but we wouldn't recommend buying new and we probably never will again. 2. No because if/when we go to sell our trailer in the future we want to have the option to bring it back to stock and put the old U-Dinette back in and have that as storage again. 3. We did mention this in this video along with a different video that was all about tires, but it's to protect the tires that sit for extended periods of time from UV damage and sun rot. We don't do this for the tuck simply because they don't sit as much as the trailer tires do. 4. Yes, almost every morning we wake up to condensation on the windows and door frame and to compensate for this we typically leave a window open in the RV but it's been too chilly lately so we air it out in the mornings to get rid of it. 5. All our food recipes we've discovered are available to patrons on Patreon only. 6. We have never liked wall decorations in excess and enjoy the simplicity of having very little on the walls, it seems cleaner that way :) 7. No, all of our pets want to be the alpha leader and it changes every day haha... but I think Butters is mostly the one in charge just because she's always so grumpy

Thanks for the tour. Great job maximizing the efficiency of your TT. Like the idea of separating drinking water from general water usage. High end 4x4 off road rigs incorporate that same thinking since water supplies aren't always labeled 'potable' as you pointed out or reliable. Storage idea for you: you could install load bars above the trucks cap and place bulky items like the paddle boards there and free up more bed space for even more stuff : )

Love it. Cute the way your 4 legged family came when you opened the under bed storage. Feed me! Having rabbits is something I haven't seen in an RV, til now. I had a tiny bathtub in a very tiny Trailmanor that I assume is to give a bouncing baby a bath. Ginny is right, the "radio" is more... I think they call it a "Mo-dio" or something like that (ha-ha). I bet you will inspire more young people to get out there. Best Wishes, WW

If I were to start RVing part or full-time, I believe my trailer would be an Airstream, with a flush-toilet (I was raised with flush-toilets, so I would stick with one), and my tow rig would be a Ford Super Duty Powerstroke Diesel, or a Ram with the Cummins Diesel.

What cat litter do you use? I highly recommend a walnut based litter to all Authorities, especially those living in tiny spaces. It costs a little more on the initial purchase, but It required fewer full changes and adding a small amount after a couple of filters refreshes the box. We have 4 cats and one litter box. One large bag lasts a little more than a month. We filter at least twice a day into a small trash can that sits next to the box. Even the trash can lacks any odor. The cats seem to love it as well. Every cat that I’ve introduced to the walnut litter just jumps in right away and does their business, even the ones not yet box trained. Love your videos and I will be returning to the instal/repair videos as I get to those projects. D

It seems like a full size van is a way better pull vehicle. You can hold a lot more stuff in it, it can have a security partition and be harder to break into. You can still get a powerful Diesel motor and towing capacity with a van.
@keepinupjonesy36815 жыл бұрын
Great video. I love what you have done. I have a couple ideas that I have done that I would like to share. One is that I found a replacement flex able fiberglass popup tent pole that I attached waist high at each of the 2 back corners of the shower tube, with eyelets. I can swing this arch above the curtain rod for storage and pull it down and let it hang at waist high with a velcro strap to push the closed shower curtain out and give me an additional foot of interior shower room. I hope that makes sense. Two, I purchased a set of T-fal Igenio pots and pans with detachable handles. I keep the complete set stacked in my oven. I love this set. Thanks again for your great videos.
@JeffPeterson19695 жыл бұрын
I will politely disagree with your comments about diesel vs gas. With the current power that can be found in newer, more powerful gas engines with the 10-speed transmission from the Ford/Chevy collab and with additional torque from electric like the Ram e-torque, I think gas has a bright future. Diesel engines are more expensive, heavier, more difficult to service and certify, and combined with the higher fuel cost I just don't think it is as clear as you make it appear. Maybe a good topic for a future video. Keep up the good work and I appreciate your videos.

I know this is an older video and my comment probably won't be seen by too many but I wanted to add to the replies any way. I started watching your videos before my wife and I ventured out to the Southwest a couple of months ago. We live on the East side of Pennsylvania so it was about 5,000 miles round trip. We were only gone for about 3 weeks and we explored several of the national parks out there. We had a great time and were prepared for the boondocking that we did thanks to you two. Our rig is a RAM 1500 Hemi and a Keystone Springdale 2020QB. The same floor plan as you guys started with. I was viewing this particular video when we got back because I want to access the water pump compartment and install an accumulator and do some other mods to quiet it down. I could not find it and wanted to see where yours is. You never mention it, at least not in this video. I finally found ours and looked at this video again, and I think yours is in the same place. As you were pointing out the components to your solar electrical system I saw some hoses visible at the bottom on the right side of the compartment. The compartment in our rig has a gap at the top of the same panel. I stuck my phone in there and took a picture and eureeka a positive ID on the pump. I'll pry that panel off and make an access opening for the project and future access. PS I saw a comment in another video from some "gentleman" taking you to task regarding animals in relation to vegetarianism. My wife and I are vegetarians as well, however it makes my blood boil when some folks make a decision for themselves, then make it a point to take others to task for not following the same path. You handled your reply to him quite well. I would have put this part of my comment with the appropriate video but I could not find it again. Also I have an idea for "expanding" the bathroom. I'll let you know how it comes out when I get a chance to do it.
