So many tiny home channels fail to outline what ISN’t good about the lifestyle, and I think that videos like this are super valuable! You gotta consider all the options before you jump into a whole new lifestyle, and this was a super fun video!

We had to live in our RV for a year after a flood destroyed our house. I loved it, hubby not so much... he hated it enough to quit waiting on the contractors and rebuild the house himself...he did an awesome job LOL!

Living this lifestyle is a lot of work. If the dividends don't far outweigh the investment { out of pocket and physical } you will not be happy campers. And on the repair side of things, someone once said, " If you are not handy, buy an RV".Your honesty is refreshing.

UPDATE: Like EVERY lifestyle, there are cons or downsides to it. That doesn't mean its not one you should choose. We absolutely LOVE this lifestyle and live it full time (I'm writing you from inside our Airstream right now). We just don't sugar coat everything. We are honest and real and want to share every side of this lifestyle, just like we share all sides of our international travels (it's not all perfect as you see on Instagram). Just wanted to share this since many of you have shared that you're upset with how we are sharing the cons and telling us we should have done our homework before living this way. We did. We love it. Thanks!

Seems like a 5th wheel with some slide outs would suit you two better!!! I've been living in a 5th wheel with my husband for 2 1/2 years and while there maybe some challenges, we love it!!! Airstreams are cool and retro but they're expensive, which means they are expensive to fix. Living in a camper means things do break a lot but fixing a 5th wheel is way more affordable and so many parts are availale online and at your local camping world. So many more posatives to this lifestyle than negatives!!! God bless!!!
@AnnaMillen4 жыл бұрын
Things are always breaking or needing readjustment - we have a Jayco so we’re always saying “f*ing Jayco” 😅 oh the joys of mass manufactured products. However we have less issues because our rig is new, we’d definitely have a completely different list of concerns with a remodeled RV.

RVing is so very different than living in a tiny home. So, besides the 18 reasons your title should have read; “18 Reasons You Shouldn’t Be RVing” Tiny house living is much like living in a conventional home, just smaller, less upkeep, cost less to repair and if you don’t like seeing the people/person you live with day in and day out then maybe you should be single. Now if you’re pulling your tiny home with your vehicle then you’re RVing. I’ve lived in a tiny home (425sqft) for over 15yrs, I have all the amenities most have in their conventional homes. I stay nice and warm in the winter, I have plenty of water and never run out, my home has great ventilation so I don’t deal with mold nor over condensation, when I have visitors they sleep on the Murphy bunks and tents for overflow guests (I don’t invite more than I can accommodate) and when things go wrong I fix them. Yes, I deal with the electrical, solar power, water catchment system, plumbing and propane. If you’re going to buy and drive a car you should, at the very least, learn to fix it (basics at least) living in a tiny home is no different. You wouldn’t buy a house without doing your due diligence, right? I am a single woman 53yrs in age and live completely off of the grid. There is no reason that anybody shouldn’t live in a tiny home. Anyone can live successfully in a tiny home provided they do their homework and know what to expect. It’s a very freeing lifestyle and costs next to nothing........wished I had done it sooner.
@ChipperHummingBird5 жыл бұрын
Overflow in tents?.. Wow ok sure. But isn't that called camping?!?! If it works for you that's great, but to be frank that's asking a lot of your guests. I'm sorry. And even if you love your significant other everybody deserves to have their own personal space and me time in my opinion.

-for me I am very strict what I will or will not allow, if I lived in tiny space I would consider that my bedroom (including the kitchen) and no one is allowed in my bedroom except hubby, thus no visitors will be staying or living with me not even over night.I do love those airstreams, been shopping around looking at them, looking at truck campers and others, for me I have been looking into campgrounds you park all year long I don't want to move around much (except a special trip where I go back to the campsite) my hubby is even entertaining the idea as he approaches retirement. anyway I have no plans on moving a big trailor around much, I don't have wanderlust just simplify life lust.

I’m gonna be living in a tiny home but i am having it in a families yard and paying her some of the land. But mine will be 399 square feet and living on my own. I’m so excited. I’ve never been one to have a lot of stuff so i said why not?!
@vi92306 жыл бұрын
For number 11 get a dehumidifier. Yes it is difficult but you get use to it and learn to not buy things and being in a RV you’re paying the half the cost than for an airstream and from what I’ve seen you also get more room in a RV aka a closet. Still love the concept of this video since yes it does suck but it beats paying for a mortgage. Just personal preference. Wish you all the best and safe travels.

That seems like a problem driving. Is your trailer weight over limit? Is it lopsided,meaning too much on one side vs the other? Do you have good sway bars? And the vehicle you are towing with, is it too small for the weight you are pulling?

Same thing applies for micro apartments I lived in a really small apartment with my girlfriend for 4 years it was definitely bigger than your camper but it was small the entirety of the inside dimensions was 11 ft 6 in wide wall to wall and 25 ft deep wall to wall there's a tour of it on my KZbin channel the things I disliked about it you can't buy anyting yeah you're saving a lot of money living very cheap but every time you go to the store and you see something you want to buy you have to think to yourself where am I going to keep it and if you can't come up with a good answer you shouldn't buy it second thing I didn't like about living in a really small place you have to keep it immaculate all the time even just a little bit of clutter and things out of place will make it look extremely messy another thing I didn't like about living in a small place I live in an area of the country where we get snow and it gets cold in the winter time so if you're not at work you're basically trapped inside this a little tiny apartment all winter long and that does take some getting used to another thing I didn't like but it wasn't that big of an issue for me and her what's the lack of privacy the only other room in that apartment was the bathroom and even there you don't really have that much privacy yep you can hear the other person pooping another thing I didn't like about living in a really small micro apartment is I have two small children or at least they were small children at the time now they don't live with me but every couple of weeks they would come spend the night then we would have to blow up air mattresses and it would be like a big slumber party at Dad's house with absolutely no privacy not a big deal but once you start mixing winter time with that and the fact that you're basically just trapped inside it does kind of suck there was only so much Minecraft and movie watching we could do another thing I didn't like what's the fact that we didn't have a regular bed we had a Murphy bed so anytime you wanted to lay down you had to fold the bed out of the wall and all that crap but at least I did have some storage in the Attic above the bathroom and kitchen area I had some pull-down attic stairs and they had a plywood floor up there but it was cheap rent was under $400 a month electric was about 65 and that was the only actual bill I had to pay everything else is a luxury like internet and cable television....... My suggestion for any couple or any person for that matter who wants to live in a tiny house and is thinking about investing forty or fifty thousand dollars into building some luxury tiny house before you try to make that investment and jump all into that feet first and go find yourself a small studio apartment and sign a one-year lease give it a try it might not be for you you might think it sounds like fun and it's going to be cool and then you realize that you just can't be that close to another person all the time me and my girlfriend did not have a problem with it but I can see how for some people it could be an issue so give it a try first....... Honestly I did enjoy living in that apartment it was great but I got older and my family got bigger and my children got older and they need their own space but yeah I mean if it's just you and one other person or if it's just you and your young go ahead even if you're old and your kids are grown and it's just you go ahead but when your middle-aged and you've got a family it's not easy

Well, a lot of people who live in tiny houses live in tiny HOUSES, not RV's, so they won't have a lot of those issues. That said, the three of us lived in a tiny house (196 sq.ft, plus sleeping loft for ds) for almost 2 yrs. Add a very active little boy to a tiny house, and you're talking PULLING YOUR HAIR OUT on bad weather days. I could add to it, but suffice to say we're much happier in our 576 sf permanent home. ;)

Hi, I have been living in my 1976 Airstream Argosy turned tiny house for 13 months .mine is 28 ft. It is mostly awesome..but I have to sweep twice a day because my parrots seed and chewed up toy pieces get everywhere, things do shake loose..like plumbing connection pieces! My zipdee awning knob that adjusts the 3 positions just broke and I have had a frozen in the up position rear jack for like 2500 miles. Very much related to those on the move!!! If you want to live cheap in a tiny house or RV, and they say so in the video, living in a tiny house or RV isn't so bad. To me it seems like negative thoughts throughout. Hence the video. But it should be stated in the title (Clickbait?), Minus solo travelers, minus continuous nomads, minus at least a little bit handy (everyone should know how to fix their home right?)... Living small is the best, even in northern cold climates... Minnesota 3+ years here... Best decision I've ever made!

It's the best decision we've made. We have far more pros but it's good to know the not so glamorous things about this lifestyle...just like any lifestyle.

I'm just traveling for short trips now, but I'll be leaving for a long trip soon. Maybe up to 6 months. I'm going to drive from Korea to Europe.^^ Of course, I will need to take a ferry for the first part because North Korea has made my country into island. There's no getting out other than by boat or plane. PS... love your accessories! :)
