If your cooling system is leaking, that is a big issue and requires the refrigerator to be removed. As long as that is not the issue, then you should be able to fix it by replacing either fuses/breakers or a control board. Parts available here: amzn.to/3z5ssWE This is what we ended up doing in our RV for the fridge: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6m8gZZ3ZbKpq5Y

This is a fantastic video that helped lead me to my problem. I had no power to the refrigerator. I followed your advice up to the DC input power (red wire). The red wire does exit the connector and leads directly to the boiler thermal switch, BUT it also has a hidden fusible link right before the thermal switch. You will see what looks like black electrical tape around the red wire ( this is the fusible link. The fusible link looked good but it was was bad because this is where my power stopped and I had voltage across the link. In a pinch I jumped the link (until I can replace it) and Voila, power restored. Thank you for leading me down the path!

The round item with the popped out button is called a Thermodisk. It is a safety device and will interrupt operation if it is over heated. It can be tested for 12v DC on both sides also. The 5/6 wire harness can be tested plugged in with fine probes. You can place the negative off the mm into the red wire and the positive to the orange, that is power up to the control panel aka the eye brow. Keep on red, the green in the upper right corner is gas down and to black is electric down.

@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
I don't, but I would start by narrowing it down by testing the truck outlet and making sure all that is good. If the tow vehicle is sending voltage, then I would test the wires in the trailer connector. Those 7 way connectors sometimes come loose inside and you have to pull the cap off and tighten it. Hope that helps.

Was supposed to be two12v fuses, one inside the box and one two the left of it. Mine only had the one inside. After replacing both control boards and still not getting any lights inside I finally found a fusable link in the hot wire to that breaker on the condenser, it was bad internally and not sending voltage. Have no idea why it tripped. I had accidentally let it run out of gas when it wasn't plugged in to shore power, don't know if that could have had anything to do with it. In any case I bypassed it and I'm running again. I can't see where it was needed really there is already also the 12v fuse in the panel on that same wire. Video was helpful and now I have spare parts on hand if one of the control boards goes out.

Thank you for this video. We had no idea how to fix it. Looks like our fridge has the same issue as yours.

Humm! How do you remove the cover to the lower power module!? Can you point me to someone who shows how this done? Everyone already has it done. Thx

The most informative videos I've seen. I've checked all these things you suggested all are good mine still is not cooling?
@SeidelRanch3 жыл бұрын
So you have all the power fine to the refrigerator but it's just not cooling? What model do you have? Does it work on one setting but not the other (electric VS propane)? I have heard of people having to replace the Thermistor (amzn.to/3zlmss8) to get it to cool properly.
@AaronsLandscaping3 жыл бұрын
All power is fine. Doesn't work on elc or pro. I'll get the model #
@SeidelRanch3 жыл бұрын
@@AaronsLandscaping Ok. That would make me think either the thermistor has gone bad or the main board has an issue.

I have the same issue. Replaced both boards and have power now, but the fridge isn’t making any noise or cooling.

Hi Seidel Ranch, this video is very much appreciated. Thank you. Can I pick your brain. I have the same circuit board and the issue I’m having is that my igniter was suddenly working intermittently and now it suddenly stopped. I disconnected the igniter and placed one probe on ground and on the board where the igniter connects to and I don’t get 12v. I’m not sure if it’s the main board or the control board at the frig. Any thoughts?
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Did you check and make sure the 12 volt battery in the RV is charged well? I hear some things can start acting weird if the battery gets weak.
@ResistNFlee2 жыл бұрын
@@SeidelRanch I did and it was fully charged, but after doing some more troubleshooting I discovered the main electrical board was bad. I have since replaced the board and now it’s working fine. Thank you for your response and also for your amazing videos.

Glad to know it was fixed. These things should have a 10 year warranty because of all the issues they run into after a few years.

So our camper is at a seasonal campground. The fridge worked fine on 110 but we wanted a bigger fridge so I pulled the dometic out Same fridge as jn this video. We have not had a battery in our camper for 3 years as we run power off 110 4 days since I pulled it out of camper and the fridge does not work when I plug it in my garage? No lights ON on front panel. Would the battery wires have anything to do with this?

Great Video, but does not resolve my issue. All is good with power at both control boards. My fridge works great for a few days, sometimes hours and then just dies out. I unplug the 120 and turn it back on, and it goes again. I've burped it, check the chimney, check the fuses, changed the fan... Now I don't know how to tell if its my upper control board. Please help
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
So you don't have to do anything to get it to work again after unplugging it? Like no reset switches or anything like that? just unplug and plug back in? Does it sit for any time before you plug it back in? Also, what make and model is it? Trying to help figure this out for you.

Thanks for the video! Mine wasn't any of that, but the 12 volt wire going to that little button has a resistor soldered with a heat shield. Still very helpful 👍 -CXD

Before replacing the whole board, double check your thermistor. I was told it was my board, replacing thermistor first $14 and fixed it. Way cheaper and super easy to replace
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, good point. If everything checks out on the board, it could be the thermistor. Thanks for the info and glad you got it fixed right.

So I was able to get my fridge back on by pushing in that button to the right of the module that you stated. It was definitely sticking out when it shouldn’t have been. The light came back on inside and everything! But within a few hours it turned off again😓 any advice on what I can do next?
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
If it's the same button I had to push in on the boiler, you probably have a cooling leak. That will trip if the boiler gets too hot.

Hey!! We just got our new trailer and in our first rv park, after plugging in the electrical and all we realized the ac was working, the microwave was as well but the fridge light wasn’t even on. I pressed it and as expected nothing happened. We never used this Narcold Eletric fridge before… do you have any idea what this could be or what we should do? Thank you so much!
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Have you checked all the breakers and plugs? Sometimes if it's new they may have the breaker turned off.
