The DIY Mommy you did an amazing job! Absolutely beautiful! I wish they would make new RVs with white interiors, but most are still in wood finishes that give it an old outdated look. My husband and I just purchased a 2018 Minnie Winnie and as much as we’d like to take down the cabinets and paint the interior white... we just feel like everything is too new to take apart. Do you have any suggestions to modernize or upgrade the look of an RV that has a lot of wood and brown interior without painting it white? Your thoughts would be appreciated😊

I’m 18 and have just gotten a camper for free it needs a lot of repares such as replacing the wall, part of He floor and a few cabinet doors. And possibly the bathroom tub. ( it’s a small camper so the main bed and the tub / toilet is right next to the bed the tub and shower are on the same wall that needs to be taken out 🙄 very frustrating) but this video was really nice and made me super excited to get working on it when the weather cools off!

Check KZbin. Wall repairs are usually done by removing outside panels, not from inside.

@@daveerickson1330 my husband used to work with the company Terry Travel Trailers, that builds campers. He is renovating our 1965 Zipper. He gutted the entire camper. He replaced the walls from the inside. We are about to start a redo on our current one, a 2008 Jayco. Makes no sense to remove the campers skin, then remove the isolation and all that to replace an inside wall. I've never seen that before on the subject of replacing inside walls... Just curious, are you sure the videos on KZbin were for replacing an inside wall?

@@NannaNeely Videos I watched were more for full restoration. Interior walls & cabinets provide much of the structural integrity. Far far more important than making your camper pretty is to ensure it is safe and habitable. My husband and I travelled Europe in ours for most of 2016 so I don't feel knowledgeless. As well as looking at it's machanics it is definitely important to do a habitation survey; look for any ingress of water (look at the outside to where the joints of your camper, caravan, RV or motorhome what-ever you call it) are and trace each one internally, check the gas supply (hoses/cylinda) to ensure it is safe and there are no leaks (you can buy a spray for this purpose), install a CO monitor and smoke alarm (new campers etc will have these (at least in Europe as this is code) but old ones do not always , install a fire extinguisher or as many as you need for your size of camper,, check sealants in the washroom as water can ingress from here when you use the facillities, if you have a cassette type toilet ensure this works properly so it will seal and you can remove it for emptying purposes, ensure you have some kind of fly screen on windows, doors, roof vents etc and they are in good condition with no holes or rips (if they are ripped or have holes in them I'd recommend replacing or repairing them) otherwise bugs will get in, check your 12v supply is working and the 12v battery(ies) are charging properly over time (you will need this for times when you don't have the gas or electrical hook-up (EU)) & finally check your EU cable and socket. I hope this is helpful for anyone thinking of buying an old camper. Number one priority is your camper is safe and habitable in a fundamental sense. I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying a camper.

Your camper looks amazing. Great job!!! I do however have idea to make painting much less time consuming. Sherwin Williams makes a high end paint called Emerald that retails for about $95 a gallon. With this paint, you can eliminate using Kilz. It's a hybrid paint that comes in satan and semi gloss. It is also a self leveling hybrid paint with primer and polyurethane mixed in with it so you will see no brush strokes or roller marks when it's dry. All you have to do is clean the surfaces to be painted, sand just until the shine is gone and apply two coats of paint and your done. I do kitchen and bathroom renovations and this is the only paint I use when painting previously stained cabinets. You will have to buy it from a Sherwin Williams store. They also have special rollers just for this paint. They will also have samples of this paint used on various surfaces you can see. This is the best paint in my opinion for this sort of work.

Love how you've lightened everything up! I've always wondered WHY these camper manufacturers seem to make everything either, "A'La Paul Bunyan Decor," or just dark. It's as if manufacturers/designers think, "Yikes! Everything's gotta be dark, because camping is dirty & ya gotta hide the dirt with dark." LOL! Yep, it gets dirty... then ya clean it up. ***I hope you show a tutorial about how to recover the jackknife sofa. But, ours had a big upholstered drawer beneath it, so I'm wondering how I'll deal with THAT. Last of all, I'm so glad I hadn't decided on colors before I started watching your vids. Our last little GLAMPER, I did in turquoise, sand, & creams. I still adore aquas, so I've been leaning toward all white walls, ceilings, wood trims and caninets, with aqua & that griegey-taupe. But, I sure love your black & white! AND, I adore the black & white, with blush pink!!! So, now I've got to think about all that. BIG QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE A DETAILED TUTORIAL SHOWING HOW TO ~ Pull out the carpeting and linoleum and booth & jackknife sofa from the slide & then redo all? That's the only part that scares me!

I love your camper Reno! It looks fabulous!!! I do have a confession- I liked the original curtains lol! They looked black and white? But I do love how you updated the whole space! I really want to get something that I can do myself so my kids and I can get away. I hate hotels/motels because I skeeve their beds... I always spray the whole room with Lysol and then tip the maid generously and ask that they do NOT clean my room lol. I forgot once and the girl put the gross bedspread back on my clean bed!! I freaked out about it lol! I had to clean it all over again.... my son is on the spectrum so he doesn’t really like change or strange places so that gives me even more of a drive to get our own camper. I’m not a germaphobe I promise!! I just don’t like sleeping in a bed that strangers slept on... I will definitely be checking out your video again when I get my own little place ♥️♥️♥️
