Got a quote from the local rv dealer. 8 to $10,000.00 to do the same. Glad i found your video, cause I'll be doing it myself. Thanks

I just finished replacing my slide. And it was more involved because my RV is older, 2001 Prowler. It has a sled with a deck board that gets bolted to the carriage. And my walls also needed attention too; I appreciate your video, because it shows some other tricks of the trade I may need some day. I did have some help to get her back together, but I tore all the bad out alone. I’m 74 year old lady, maybe too foolish to realize my limitations. It wasn’t a piece of cake, for sure. Your repair is solid! I like it! Thanks!

Did you do your walls first before the flooring?

I have tall jack stands left over from replacing the decking in the toy hauler section. I've been thinking about how to replace the decking in both of my slides from the inside. Watching has given me do's and don't's. Thanks for taking the plunge for us.

I just wish he had a buddy there to help him other than a cat. Trust me I like doing stuff on my own, but projects like this I like calling a friend and getting it done. Good video man

I tried to find the same t bar but had no luck finding it on website. Can you share the link?

Easier to use 2 layers of 1/2" plywood. Cut the bottom layers to fit slide, then layer top pieces over joints on the bottom wood with adhesive glue. Let dry, then trim whole floor to fit the slide exactly. Then you have a whole new one piece floor.
@davidmcgee212611 ай бұрын
Agreed. But you laminate 3/8 sheets to get 3/4. You have 4 pieces 2 of them roughly 2/3 and 2 of them 1/3. Glue and screw. Trim to exact size.

@@davidmcgee2126could i ask what you mean by laminate? About to attempt the repair the way you describe. Im just not understanding you completely since im inexperienced… edit* nevermind sir. I decided to not be an asshole and use google. Thank you for your information though, will make this sturdier i think

How about how to replace a small section due to mold and rot, and not the whole slideout floor. How do you secure the piece and what do you spray or use underneath outside for protection?

Good job. You have given me some good ideas and show me what you can get for the underlayment. If you were doing it again, would you bring it in from the inside like you did, or bring it up from underneath?

Fabric $48, T bars $40, plywood ? Not sure. Probably around $80. I don't know exactly how long it took because I worked in small increments. Maybe 8 hours?

That “T bar” piece I need for my floor. But a T bar is not what it’s called. So I can’t find it anywhere because I don’t know the name of it. Can you please let me know what the actual name is? Or reply with a link to the item?

I would have replaced the entire floorboard if I went to all that trouble.

Probably been cheaper.

Just curious but why not just replace the entire board? As opposed to piecing it together????

Most likely the floor or the fachia is holding it from sliding out maybe? That was my issue. All of the walls including the slideout trim sit on the floor so i had to hold it up while my wife pushed the button

What are you talking about? The point is to show the replacement of the floor. This was very useful. Maybe you should refer to written documentation if you don't like videos?

There was absolutely no nonsense in this video. It was helpful and showed exactly what everyone needed to see. Get a life.
