THANK YOU for the morning laugh. I've never seen anyone so excited about a toilet. We're buying a Winnebago motorhome, and they come with a plastic toilet..........unacceptable. So, I was curious how hard it would be to change that out for a porcelain toilet; your video was so helpful. Looks simple.

My 321 sprays the same amount in the front, it’s not much. Oh and these toilets are meant to be disposable because they don’t sell many parts for my 3 year old toilet so I have to toss it in the landfill. The 510 has more parts available.

We bought our camper in 2017, it has a Dometic 310 in it, we use it about five weeks a year in our short Michigan summers. We love it, it has never failed, turn the water pressure up to 60-65, it will work perfect, you'll love it.

Went from the 300 to the 320, I do like the size better. My only complaint is when you get those parks with crappy water pressure, it doesn’t like to flush well but I guess that’s an issue with any toilets unless you install a res. toilet with a tank and risk it breaking when you move. That valve was a smart idea, I did the same. Edit:: After watching the whole video and seeing you had the same issue with water pressure…. I find that it doesn’t start working “right” until up around 60ish psi. I know everyone gets scare about higher psi but in our newer rvs with 1/2” PEX, it’s rated to 110, so if you have pressure available, turn it up some more. But be sure you didn’t kink a line also. My problem is these parks that reduce down to like 45 psi. Even older rvs can handle 55-60 unless they are just junk.
@ExploringOurCompass2 жыл бұрын
Yep the water pressure is still something that has yet to make me happy with the 320. You are right though, 60 psi definitely makes it better. I also notice that it flushes a little better if I'm running off of my water pump instead of city water.
@MONEYZ123 Жыл бұрын
I don't think the issue is that the lines can handle higher psi, which you are right about, but the components that they are attached to can not handle higher psi, such as cheap plastic faucets/shower heads/black tank flushes. Its the water components that you need to worry about.

You might find that there is a shark bite push-on valve that's "full port". I'd not worry about the life expectancy of the shark bite as you are at a lower pressure AND the fitting is readily accessible and visible--so if there is a problem you can fix it. I've NEVER had one accidentally come off but for SURE have had to fight with them to get them off once those metal teeth as set in.IDK about the 90. You can also go to 1/2" copper that also works fine with sharkbite and will definitely give you a MUCH bigger Internal Diameter and the resulting flow. Or maybe use a push-on size adapter to go up a size in tubing to 3/4"PEX (not copper that'd be nuts) and then those valves and 90 will have a bigger Inside Diameter/ID that should ease the restriction. I DO agree that it's the cheap valves and plastic parts of showers and sinks that are going to give out with the higher pressure. It may take some time for the cracks to propagate to failure but when it does....it'll tend to be full blast--NOT like a metal water heater that's rusting through and starts seeping a little for days/weeks before a real stream shooting out. It might be worth it to run a bigger line or even 2nd pump or add a 2nd pressure adjuster to bump the pressure BACK down to the rest of your rig. IDK how complicated your plumbing is but seems you have the tools you just need the fittings and couple of sticks of 3/4" pex. Oh there is a snap on brace that will curve the 1/2" 90degrees. You'll need 2-3" so may have to relocate the cut-off valve back to somewhere else before the bathroom floor but it should definitlely help and is a big reason why PEX pipe can usually get away with the flow penalty of a thicker plastic sidewall/smaller ID penalty. I'd try copper+Push-on Fittings (take out in the inserts that keep the plastic PEX from collapsing first and then maybe a second water pump just to the toilet..BTW someone commented that the seal on a 320 is now known to cause waste water to collect where it mounts and rot out the wood/mounting material....I haven't checked it out but the OP responded they'd heard that too and there are no more 320s for sell on Dometic's Amazon store--only older stock in retail or clearance warehouses... Just saying...--DD
@leea.61015 ай бұрын
When you added those 1/2" crimp fittings for your shut off valve, you restricted the water flow. You should have used push to connect Sharkbite fittings. They lock over the water pipe and not in the pipe. The don't restrict water flow.

There’s that one area you’re talking about, that never washes off, but were not full time and is easily cleaned. Also, the 320 is a porcelain base. My valve continues to break on my 310 and i have now ordered 4 different types. In my opinion the 300 series foot pedal is an absolute design mistake and you're better off getting one with a button or some other type of inlet. Mine has broken again this morning and is currently sitting with a toilet brush wedged into it so I don't have to shut off all the water to my entire system

I’ll throw you another tid-bit on the 320, I learned from experience. If you ever, by chance or stupidity, run out of propane in the winter in freezing temps….after thawing everything out, you may find that the foot pedal is a bit resistant. DO NOT FORCE IT!!! Honestly, it didn’t take much extra pressure but it snapped off the smallest bit of the tip of the plunger for the water inlet valve so it wouldn’t flush. Apparently there was still a bit of ice in that valve. But, good news….you can get and replace just that valve fairly easily. I think there is a video of that here on YT somewhere. Someone else had somewhat the same issue I did. 😂

@ClintMyhre2 жыл бұрын
Other than the obvious comfort/size and seat differences was there any reason you did not like the Thetford? Did the Thetford break down or leak in some way? I'm actually contemplating replacing my Dometic 310 with a Thetford Aqua-Magic Style II (which is what you had) because of the leakage problems with the Dometic. The insides of the Thetford look like a much better design. The Dometic is designed to leak in my opinion. I do not have enough clearance to the wall for a Dometic 320. The Dometic 310 is smack against the wall and the 320 needs 11 inches (1 more inch than I have.)
@ExploringOurCompass2 жыл бұрын
Nope, other than those 2 reasons and the small wash nozzle at the back of the bowl, the Thetford was fine. It was a great toilet for what it was made to do! We just wanted something a little different. I actually installed the Thetford from ours in to my Mother-In-Laws rig and its still running fine to this day!
@pull-up-onmeh5138 Жыл бұрын
yeah, to be honest I think that is a design error!!! And I really don’t like the fact that it doesn’t fill the bowl up with water at all after you flush it so you get that P sprinkle that bounces out of the toilet onto the floor and the walls. Not a great design !
