Bro! be careful your tank is illegal according to 49 CFR Ch 3 (393.65) 6b; I understand saving money but the highway patrol does not. Cap off your drain valve and get DOT certified fr1210 pump for top. You might be able to remove your gauge location and use for fill neck or swap location with pump and add threaded brass connection then you might be in a better legal position? Double check me to see if it all checked out? We work to hard for are money to give it to Uncle Sam! P.S. Don’t forget to put lock on it. Good luck to you and your channel! Oh! One more item they make a small portable 12 volt transfer pump as well which might work good for your situation on Amazon?

@NoAcresHomestead

Per mile is based on what I’m pulling and where it’s going. Around $1.20-$1.60/mile. Not enough data yet to figure price per mile on fuel. No sleeping in the RV allowed. Maximum drive time is 11 hours/day.

Yes. You can’t classify it as a sleeper berth on your logs without modifications. But you can sleep there while in off duty mode. To log it as a sleeper berth you have to do a $2500 modification to convert it to DOT sleeper berth.

its my understanding the back seat of a pickup does not meet the minimum measurements for a bunk , without having the bump outs where the windows are .
@NoAcresHomestead
@NoAcresHomestead 4 жыл бұрын
It’s not a DOT certified sleeper. So in transporting this way we have to say “off duty” instead of “sleeper berth”. If you drive as a team, you have to do the upgrade install to make the backseat a legal sleeper berth. It runs about $2000 for those modifications.

I almost starved to death doing this. Plenty of frieght out and nothing back so what you made was spent on backtracking. In my day you could sleep in the campers. Use your sleeping bag. You can not use anything in the camper; no toilet, no microwave but smart drivers figure all of that out. Good luck. Maybe things have changed.

@NoAcresHomestead 4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may have been doing drive away (correct me if I’m wrong). If so, yes, that pay is much lower (70-80 cents/mile). With that, you would spend a lot of your pay getting back to pick up another load. I do tow away, which is paying $1.40-$1.60/mile. Even with fuel expense and return/deadhead miles I’m still profiting over 80 cents/mile. So doing great here.
@AJourneyOfYourSoul
@AJourneyOfYourSoul 3 жыл бұрын
@@NoAcresHomestead how can you be profiting 80cpm if you are only being paid 1.50 a loaded mile and have to deadhead back? Think about it. 1,000 mile loaded, 1,000 mile deadhead back, is like getting 75cpm for the whole 2,000 miles. You are basically giving your truck away thinking it is profit.
