I put vent covers on my travel trailer put I opted to use stainless bolts and I opted to use lock nuts also

Think it will stand up to hail damage after feeling the plastic? Or check after any hail storm? I have to drive about an hour to get to where mine is parked.

I'm assuming you're asking about the MaxxAir II vent fan cover. I think it will fare just as well as the lid that's installed directly on the fan. Depending on the severity of the storm & size of the hail. I would think of it as an added layer of protection to protect your vent fan lid from failing from hail! Hope this helps! - Dennis ✌️

The Dremel tool pays for itself again. Never thought about the sewer gas going out the wrong way. Might be the problem with all TV'S that have sewer gas smells.
