Water intrusion has been my second biggest concern ( after the slide not working!!!). Years ago we had a Thor Chateau with a very small tear in the rubber roof. Very hard to find but did a great deal of damage. I agree with you on “spot resealing”. We’ve done both over 40 years. Removed entire cracked sealant verses spot sealing. Living in Arizona, sealant dries out quickly. Everyone will have a different experience but for me, I’ve found spot sealing lasts just as long as completely resealing a roof radius or rear wall panel, etc. We inspect all windows, roof, rear panels every couple of months. Well worth the effort. Thank you for your videos

I am also a big fan of using a moisture meter to hopefully find water intrusion before soft spots form in the walls or floors.

Yes, I am using a moisture meter as well. I'm using a Klein Tools ET140 and having good luck with it. Note that metal in the wall will give you a false positive.

Hi Duane Thanks for the long needed video. I’m a retired marine surveyor and composites were a fun specialty of mine. I always carried 2 moisture meters with me, one as a proof for the other. Sounding the entire exterior of a boat, or RV with a phenolic mallet, tapping it out, you can always find delams, soft core or damage. Carrying a moisture meter can qualify the area regarding moisture intrusion to the affected area easily determining whether the compromised sounding is simply a delam or soft core. Any affected areas can be laid out and estimates determined 9:29 based on the finding. I used the Tramex Skipper for moisture ( a non-destructive meter) and a Delmhorst pin type meter to settle arguments with sellers and brokers. It is a destructive meter which requires two 1/8th holes for the probe. Core and delam issues can be expensive, but a great value to prospective buyers or clients. That's true. But not everyone wants to go that direction. So this video was about how anyone can prevent water damage no matter what RV they have.
