I get you about winter. It just sucks. It’s dark all the time, no outdoor time, no time cooking outdoors, no camping, the roads suck, the best thing about winter is when Spring arrives. That is always great.

Mike and Heidi - I started watching your channel after we had sold our prior 5th wheel and truck (first video was your furnace repair in your Rockwood … so about that time). It was tough for us not having a camper after owning one since 2005. Similar to you we had decided our camper/truck was not what we needed (and we had to take care of a health issue with a family member). This set us back financially for a while. Watching your videos gave us hope that we would eventually be back camping when the time was right. So from March 2018 to September 2020 we did not have a camper and really missed camping. We did get a smaller 5th wheel (34’) for just the two of us to camp in. It is very comfortable and we have taken in on many trips since (we both work full time so we try to get out when we can and plan a longer trip or two every year.) We considered a travel trailer, but the extra length behind the truck versus the 5th wheel sitting over part of the bed makes a 34’ 5th wheel equivalent to a 29’ (or 24’ box) camper when towing/backing up. I can see why Heidi likes 5th wheels and also why you like travel trailers. I have watched a couple of KZbin channels where people renovate and fix up much older trailers (pretty cool). I am also a fan of older trucks (drove a 1975 Chevy C10 with an inline 6 and no power anything for a while until the body rusted through). If the goal is to get back out camping, a late model 1 ton truck and whatever camper you desire would be perfect - and we don’t get the chance to camp on weekends because there are very few spots available - we enjoy weekday camping where 1/3 to 2/3 of the campground is empty. Your house and yard are looking awesome. What an amazing job you both have done! BTW - appreciated your explanation of fall and winter (living in MD we get similar gray weather). I do look forward to snow but we don’t seem to get that anymore … not like we used to.

Omgosh we are at the part when you asked to watch old videos:) great minds think alike. And you no what you guys did exactly whst you said you were going to do 8 yrs ago. It's uncanny how you guys made that goal and did it. Glad you guys are on the mend. Back to enjoying the video:) We are going to have an rv daydream binge on old episodes this weekend. After we paint for 4 hours each day that's our goal. Heidi you'll get the store in order for sure. Brenda&Tim

Whenever people ask me about what RV to get I always ask them what's your mission so I remind you you got to figure out what you're going to be doing with it and then buy the appropriate one. We have owned three truck campers one pop-up several different tents fifth wheel . Two years ago we ordered a Rockwood 2516s and it never came in now we own a Rockwood 8262RBS really loved it it has a washer dryer combo hookup we have a washer in it it's fantastic we stay 2 to 3 months at a time we went through Wana RV they were great.

Wow Mike! You covered a lot in that video. First let me say thank you for laying it all out there. I am a long time follower and have watched you guys for years. On the topic of weight loss I am currently on Keto and am down 15 lbs in 2.5 months. Since retiring I do all the cooking and my wife has never had it so good. Truth is that makes it easier for me. On the topic of RVs, we have owned a travel trailer, fifth wheel pulled with F450, and three class A diesel pushers. Today we are in a Super C. In reality, if not full timing, the main thing is to just to get out there and enjoy what the lord has provided in this beautiful country. I think often people forget that. As long as you are going to own a home and an Rv, mobility in the type of RV is important. That is what drove us to the super c after pulling the fifth wheel. The fifth wheel at our age , 67, tended to turn camping into work. In our case, we like the mobility of a super C over the fifth wheel, but anything that provides that freedom works. We wish you two the best as you continue to sort out your next steps. That said, I would suggest simplicity over complexity. We love your channel and the transparency you two lay out there. We have learned a lot from your videos and appreciate the time and effort it takes to share that. Last but not least, don’t let that Ohio weather get you down. Any day we wake up is still a good day! Would love to meet y’all one day!

I totally agree.. He talked down about the weather so much and he has me to look at everyday after work, lol.. Hahah thanks for watching and following along. Motorhome do sound uncomplicated, but I sure loved our 5th wheel 😊.. I say bring on the snow, it doesn't last ❄️😁

Glad you are all feeling better. My alergies have been kicking up but no Covid. I work a lot of indoor track meets with athletes running, exhaling, etc.. If anyone should have gotten it I should have. My wife got it twice. I passed on the latest booster. When I was working in wastewater and engineering, yes some of the developments had the main line in the backyards. Basically, your traps were all dry so just keep a little water in them (if they are trapped) should correct the problem. Some of the older homes did not have a trap in the lines as it was not code. But everything is really looking great. Glad Heidi has settled into steady routine.

Do what works best for your plans. I am going with a smaller vehicle for travels and supplementing with hotels. Keeping it simple. If you are comfortable with a big vehicle and what that entails then that’s cool.

As far as we know, neither of us ever got COVID. I'm almost never sick, aside from the cancer, high blood pressure, GERD, high cholesterol, and on-and-off post-nasal-drip. I do take either Airborne or Emergen-C regularly, depending on which is cheaper or more available. I also drink a bit of liquor, neat, and that probably kills anything trying to live in my mouth or throat. Neither of us took the COVID jabs, though for a brief while we were concerned that her employer was going to force it, which would have led us to a choice of her quitting early or taking the chance on it. That balance of livability vs movability of RVs comes up with us, too. Here we are with a 45' fiver carrying my 1300 mc, pulled by a one-ton dually. Travel days, we're close to 16 tons, 63 feet long, 13' 4" tall. Those are not fun days, and prep for moving is a lot of work. Then again, when we're settled somewhere, like we are now (a lot longer than we intended to be), it's like living in a condo, only in a different part of the country than a couple months ago. Earlier today, we saw someone coming into the cg with a very different rig. It was a CanAm Spyder pulling some sort of small, flat trailer. Later, we saw the trailer set up in a site, expanded out, and the Spyder was gone, probably up in the mountains. I can imagine us doing something like that (maybe after we stop the full-time thing), but it's a very different lifestyle, with different compromises. With the fiver, we're not spending 6 months anywhere, but we do like to park for anywhere between two weeks and two months, three months this winter at our Florida spot. We have one of the best kitchens available in an RV, better than a lot of apartments, and it really is our home. That we haul around. For my part, I'm not interested in a live video, but I think you'll find enough people who *do* like those, it's probably a good idea.

Alot in this video. I hope everyone's health makes a full recovery. That is the most important. For the trailer situation I will share what we did. We do 6 trips a year. A week or so at a time and always in State Parks in the midwest. We went with a 29ft box TT. Kind of in the middle. It gives us room but isn't so big we have trouble finding a spot. If we were going for a month or so to 1 spot we would have a 5th wheel. Time and "chores" doesn't allow me to have time for live sessions so I would not be able to watch until after. Best wishes on all fronts.

Glad you are feeling better! I was sick for almost two months earlier this summer. We are still in Jersey, long story. Anyway, I would look for a used travel trailer in good condition to save on the depreciation. Then get another F250 / 350 with the Super Crew and short bed or Super Cab with the long bed. I would only get a large fifth wheel if you plan on full timing again. Hope to see you out there!

I have that seasonal affective disorder and i always dread late October-late March, even early april as well. Id definitely go the travel trailer route being that the big huge 5ers like you had last time have very limited spots in the state park campgrounds. My tt is 31'4 bumper/hitch so I'm easily in the mid 50s truck/trailer combo and some of the spots I pick it's tight to get in. Next rig I want to get, I want to have a full size outdoor kitchen and im having a hard time finding one that i like thats under 35 feet which is the max length I want to go trailer wise.

Hey Mike you might want to look into a main line Back Flow valve for your sewer System it would stop all the smells and water coming back up in your basement.

That's great, now to keep it off, that is a problem, Mike has been on that diet twice and if you don't permanently change your life bam weight goes back on, I gained about 12 pounds when I quit smoking, I have a plan on our diet I would like to change because honestly I need veggies too hahaha. Good luck on your journey, we gotta get started soon! 😊
