My parents took my sister and I to see the London Bridge at Lake Havasu in 1972. So you can imagine how much that area has changed since then!

Back when I was living in Tucson I visited Lake Havasu several times. I always went during the week and I always reserved a room at the London Bridge Resort. They must have liked me, because they always upgraded my room to a suite when I checked in. I always made a point of taking a boat tour, and I have a couple of videos of it on my YT channel. This was before the pandemic, so it wasn't quite as developed at it appears to be now. One of these times Russ you really need to take a boat tour, There are amazing places to see which are only accessible by boat. Meantime all the dry grass is troubling. All the rain this winter would have gotten a lot of stuff growing, and now that it's drying out it's creating a tinderbox. I don't want to say the "W" word, so I'll just say I hope people will be extra careful when they visit the great outdoors this summer, assuming the Forest Service doesn't close the forests down.

"Rowt" 66 pronunciation works for me! I've always pronounced that word as "Rowt", rather than "root". I don't think you're wrong. :) Are the water levels rising, still in the lakes?

Lived in Havasu many years it truly is the ugliest desert of them all. I don’t understand the allure of the place as it’s no longer a cheap retirement town like it used to be - just a California playground for motor toys.
