I've been watching MORR for nearly two years, and I had no idea Hurricane was near that big. I honestly thought it was about 1/2 that size. But Matt doesn't show a lot of in town driving, and I grew up in a much smaller town. I was surprised by the crowd of people at the wrecker games, but you were the first one to show that line to get in. I'm not sure I would have any sanity after waiting 2.5 hours to get in - lol. Thanks for showing that museum. I could spend all day in a little museum like that.

Hurricane has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 25 years, it used to be a lot tinier. It may also seem bigger because the greater St. George area is like one big city.

🙋‍♀Hello Russ! Agreed that was a beautiful kodak picture postcard perfect scene of the snowcapped mountain, the courtyard was interesting before the museum, honoring veterans, the pioneer families. I liked seeing the statues. Really nicely done. I even liked the stone benches around the middle too sit & take it all in. Wrecker games looked exciting. Drew a large crowd. What a long wait you had in that line. I appreciated seeing the museum, & the wrecker games. Thank you!👍🍀Happy🍀St. Patricks🍀Day!🍀

Thanks for covering this event Russ. Towards the end, the snow-capped mountain range looked like a back-drop for a Clint Eastwood western. If I'd been there I would've spent most of my time staring at the scenery. On a side note; yes, you waited for hours and the older some of us get the harder that is, lol. But!,....you still had it made. You're little rv was right there with you. A place to take a nap, get some hot coffee or something to eat and warm up out of the cold. A lot of those folks weren't so lucky. Just trying to find the silver lining. Anyway, that area sure is growing - wow! Thanks again for doing this for your channel. Cheers!

We were there. Lines to get tickets when much faster later in the day. We just pretty much drove straight through, at a slow pace, but it went fast. They were just handing out the bags w/o checking everyone's registration. They'll figure it out better. We also parked on the beach right off the road and didn't do the shuttle, which I was so glad for. Lines for the shuttle were crazy long.

🎵"You are like a Hurri-kun"...🎶" (Neil Young reference 🙂). The place is booming, boy that's no joke. I'm glad I got to visit before tourism exploded when you could drive into Zion Canyon and didn't need permits to hike Angels Landing. Speaking of booming tourism, the crowds at the Wrecker games are just insane! Neat to see the Golden Nugget on display. Russ, you are so right about local museums. No matter how small they always have something unique that you're not going to see anywhere else (I'm thinking of the amazing Cyclorama in the Pioneer Museum in Aztec NM) Until next time, happy trails!

I use to drive through Hurricane many times between Phoenix and St. George for Warren Jeffs Trials. Every time I drive through that town I think of all the "Lost Boys" being abandoned there by their FLDS families. What a shame. But it's interesting how much Hurricane has grown since back then. Maybe next time I travel through will have better memories traveling though to Zion.

I Love going through that gorge. I stayed in Beaver Dam a month and had a fantastic view of the entire valley. I drove by that state park going to the KOA and it looks so inviting the lake is much bigger then I remember. Yrs ago my daughter and I drove on the beautiful trip from Salt Lake to Las Vegas and that gorge was the one thing she remembers so well now 23 yrs later. Very impressive. I get to go through it again this Spring. Hope the day is as beautiful as the one you had. So looking forward to summer in Utah.

Wow, you pronounced the name of Hurricane as the locals do. I am impressed. So cool to see you in our area filming. If you get the chance, you should go up Highway 18 north of St. George to the Mountain Meadow Massacre site. Well, if we meet you that would be cool. You should come to Leeds and see the historic silver reef area. There are a few other historic plaques here in Leeds as well.

Here's another weird Utah city name for you and your subscribers: Tooele (pronounced Too-EL-ah.) Not much to it but due west of it is Grantsville where you can find the Donner-Reed Party Museum containing artifacts from the caravan. It also has location maps & GPS coordinates to the party's wagon wheel ruts on the actual part of the trail and salt flats that are nearby. Years ago, they claimed to have one of the infamous "cooking pots" but I'm not sure, in these political correctness times, they would have it displayed any longer.
