True story: My parents and I were there along with an aunt and uncle. We had stopped there to get out and walk around. I started playing with a little girl about my age. She and her parents were camping there for the night. My aunt came and got me, mother had a high fever so we needed to get on in to Yellowstone and find a doctor. We missed the quake by 29-30 minutes, but still felt it. I remember because my daddy turned to mama and me and said "Remember I love you" and mama was holding me close and crying. Then there were the after shocks. At a snails pace we made it on in, found a doctor, mother had phemonia. (however it is spelled). With the shot, rest, and meds, she soon felt much better. My little friend is somewhere under all the rubble back there, she and her parents. I have been there a few times, and I always think we could have been under it all too. It gives me an odd feeling.

@@GratefulOverlander At the time of the quake, everything was shaking really rough, we didn't know what was happening in front or in back..as a mother she held me close to her as a protective gesture. ( and we did not know it was pneumonia until we got to the emergency clinic.)

I was quite young when the earthquake happened, but I do remember it, so now I've aged myself, lol. I remember seeing a picture of a camp ground with boulders everywhere in the surrounding area. It was big news in Wyoming. Looking forwards to your next video.

Great Video as always Russ. We have been crisscrossing Montana the past 5 days. It was highs of low-mid 90’s much of the time. Didn’t really cool off until we got to Cut Bank last night. Really nice route we took today was MT464 to Duck Lake and Babbs. Drove down US89 by St Mary Lakes to Glacier East entrance which is all closed. Everything in/on the Blackfeet Reservation is closed to outsiders except for the roads. We had US89 pretty much to ourselves. MT464 offered the best views of the eastern slopes of Glacier I have ever seen.

287 is a great cut through especially for big rigs, you only cross the divide once. If you are going north on 15 then east on 90 or just the opposite, you go over it at Minida pass and then north of Wise River on 15 then on 90 heading east out of Butte.

Sure enjoy traveling with you. Would be nice once in a while, when you take a break, if you could somehow have a screen shot of google maps, showing where you are, and which way you are headed. Then you could tell us about the terrain etc. coming up. I know I always enjoy “the road”, and looking at maps as I travel.

Hi Russ!! Thanks for another video.....I surely enjoy the ride-a-long!! Given how much I've seen you drive over the past several months and the fact you have a diesel powered van now, I would highly recommend you check out an outfit called TSD Logistics. They offer a fuel discount program to individuals (their RV program) than can yield substantial savings, depending on what part of the country you are in. I've used them for almost a year without any problems. Safe travels.....
