I was over there at York Bridge two weeks ago walleye fishing. You are technically on the Hauser Lake impoundment on the Missouri River. Devils Elbow is between Canyon Ferry dam upstream and Hauser dam downstream.

People really get isolated cut off during the winter , it has to be tough on the very people 65 plus that can afford to live there . My whole life always wanted to live there . PS going to Walla Walla check the Whirman Mission massacre. Thanks

Once again some very lovely content, both beautiful to look at and informative. I love to watch in full screen mode, especially the aerial footage. (Do kids know what video "footage" is? on the editors floor?). Your views of the story boards is much better lately, but not quite close enough to read, even on a 27 inch screen. Devil's Elbow campsite says it is open year around. Huh? How do people get there in January? Dog sled?

I'm a native and I can tell you there's no predicting the weather in late September. It could be 85 degrees F or it could be 15 with snow. All you can do is watch long-range weather forecasts.

Gorgeous scenery. Just wouldn't want to live there...winter's too long from Sept-May. Did my 6 yr penance in the freezing cold environs of ND in winter w/Alaska sized mosquitoes in summer. Living life in CA now much better & if we want snow head to Tahoe for the weekend & leave the snow shoveling to somebody else. Looking forward to where else you take us in MT. Glacier Pk area is beautiful & then you can head over into the very top of ID for some more great scenic beauty.

I just found your channel. I live in Helena. My favorite place to hang out is just past Devils Elbow. It's the York boat launch. We go out there to fish a lot. We have renamed it "Eagles Ridge". There is a family of three grown Bald Eagles that hang out there. If you drive to York, keep on going to Vigilante Campground, but take your bearspray. I was hiking the trail Monday and found two different bear scars. Have fun!

Yes, the traffic engineers here in the US have gone ape designing traffic circles. Many are so small that larger vehicles have to drive over the middle of them. Basically at that point they become four way yields.
