Interesting travel in Illinois on Route 66. The murals of Cuba were very interesting. I often wonder what type of paint is used in the mural to keep their vivid colors and withstand weather conditions. I knew that the Civil War had many smaller encounters that are not well documented in history books as opposed to larger areas such as Fredericksburg or Gettysburg. I am glad you were able to capture this for prosperity. Saving the history of the first roads like Route 66 is dependent on funding. Many countries just don’t have funding necessary to maintain these historic roads. Thanks for sharing this Route 66 adventure.

Beautiful murals, however, Missouri was not a good place to be during the Civil War due to violent guerrilla warfare. Quantrill's Raiders was notoriously violent, and one of their members was a young man named Frank James. After the war, Frank, and his younger brother, Jesse, began robbing banks and trains at gunpoint.
