man i thought i was going to go with one of these but then i saw someone get one of those replicas off ebay and man has it worked like a charm.. some things with these builds you have to go expensive with but many of the other parts dont have to break the bank.. i love this platform and its cool that you shouted out Grant .. he is very knowledgeable and has been grinding this platform for quite some time.. He really shows what can be done on the platform and really knows his stuff.. i hope to see your build make you as happy as all of ours has made us.. happy modding my guy!

I agree! Some parts you can definitely save a buck or two on, but with past personal experience, I've learned that a downpipe isn't the part to cheap out on. Bad fitment, rust, leaks, and overall, just a lot of problems arise from a bad performance part. And yeah, Grant is a great guy! He has definitely inspired my build a bit.

I have RVG High Flo Catted downpipes on my 2016 BMW 550i they are a beast love the performance boost.

I love this downpipe! It really changed the car. I wish more people knew about RVG when it came to comparing choices for their downpipe(s).

Thank you! I got the diffuser on eBay, and the insert is an OEM BMW M part from an F10 M5. I actually have a video dedicated to the diffuser on my channel - check it out, it has all the information you'll need for it there!

Put the resonator back on and remove the mufflers. I had that set up barley any drone and sounds beastly.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I have a friend with an F30 335i and that exact setup, and the drone is horrendous. I'm playing around with a few setups, fine-tuning it along the way, until I just get an outright exhaust system. Thanks for your comment!

@@MotoRevs yeah once you remove the resonators it becomes bad trust me I get migraines so I hate drone. With the mufflers delete and catless downpipe it was the best setup for the car.

I'll definitely keep this in mind. Currently looking to switch up my current setup. I could try this for a while, see how it goes, or, like I said, i might just go all out and get a system. Who knows?

@@MotoRevs waste of money in my opinion. Any exhaust system will give you the same tone could be even a little bit less aggressive than you would like. What I like about about what I have is theyre inexpensive could switch anything out for cheap.

That's what I like about modifying the stock exhaust, as well. Let's hope I find the best setup!

and if you dont mind me asking.. what issues did you have on your VW downpipe... i know that one place that those replicas lack is the welds are horrible lol .. but if you can look past the aesthetics and just focus on the functionality then in theory it should have worked just fine unless the diameters were off or something major like that.. sorry i cant just go to the content but i do intend on checking it out ... thanks for your time and sharing your experience with us!

To be honest, the main problems I had were that the fitment was absolutely awful, like, I mean atrocious. It started rusting a bit, and it started creating an awful sound, almost like it was hitting the subframe. Honestly, the entirety of it was a pain. I shouldn't have cheaped out, but hindsight is 20/20.

Did i miss something or was dude not using ANY jack stands, just a drill? Wtf dude has balls of steel or he just doesn't need to be working under cars at all. Edit. I now see those deals on the side of the jack itself. If that is supposed to be a deal which replaces stands its pretty neat, never seen one before. If its 100% safe then my bad.

If you don't want droning, I highly recommend keeping the mufflers on. Even more than the resonators, the mufflers remove any and all drone. However, it isn't nearly as loud as any other setup you could have. But, the drone would be non-existent. I'm trying to figure out the perfect setup, too!
