As someone that has lived in Utah for most of my life and camp in southern Utah / Arizona often, I still haven't seen it all and probably never will. I just love watching your family take it all in and how you appreciate all the Lord has given us. On camera, you family is always positive. When my daughters were their age it was sometimes a real struggle to get them to go camping, let alone take long hikes and not whine about it. You've done a great job of parenting! Our favorite national parks in the area are Bryce, Moab (Canyon lands, Arches) Zion and Capital Reef. If you have enough time on your next trip out West, considered renting a houseboat and / or doing a boat tour of Lake Powell (Glen canyon area); mind blowing narrow rock canyons, and arches that you can only access via boat.
@FindingOurSomeday3 жыл бұрын
I think you’re right, it’s impossible to see it all. I appreciate your encouragement. The girls are really good, obviously the negative stuff doesn’t usually make it on camera... we did arches, canyon lands and lake Powell the next loop through there and it was incredible! You’re absolutely right though, I really want to explore lake Powell by boat! Maybe next year!

I have to say Thank You. I, being born and raised in South Dakota, started a family early, really haven’t been anywhere. Never knew these places existed. Crazy right? Never knew. Now in my single life, you (and Family) are showing me, there’s soooo much more, to see. I ride the bike as much as possible. Always have a destination, or a time stamp, to get there and home. Maybe at some point, I’ll find my someday. Would love to shake your hands, and say Thank You. Maybe roll some Smoke, (brisket) or just a beer. Someday.

This video is awesome! Looking forward to taking the grandkids on RV adventures. I've had the good fortune to have rafted from Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek on three separate private trips with fellow Maine whitewater rafting guides, families and friends. Each trip was the trip of a lifetime. I was able to take all three of my kids ages 16 to 23 when I got my permit after being on the wait list for 10 years. Family and friends is what it is all about! We were camping below Hopi Point and could see the camera flashes above us. Great memories and can't wait to get back to the southwest. Thank you for taking us along.

@@FindingOurSomeday Unfortunately, I don't think this grandmother will be rafting any more private trips LOL. If we go again, I want to be pampered on a small commercial rowing trip :-) The first trip was in 1990. I'd never been west of Ithaca NY before that. I took my kids in 2001 just before 9/11. I went on my brother's trip in 2009, and my youngest son proposed to his wife on that trip. You definitely need to take your family. There is nothing like waking up at the bottom of the Grand Canyon for 16 mornings. Each day holds a million dollar view.

We took a boat trip from Glenn Canyon Dam to Horseshoe Bend in 2014. The weather was perfect, so we got many mirror image pictures of the canyon walls reflecting in the water. We saw people up on top and wondered how they got there. Now I know.

The Grand Canyon rates #1in our book for most gorgeous place to see. You feel as if your floating when you walk toward the edge of the rim. We went years ago on Christmas Eve. We froze our butts off but loved every minute. Please be careful when climbing along the edge, there have been several people who lost their lives just taking pictures and falling.
@FindingOurSomeday3 жыл бұрын
Christmas Eve at Grand Canyon sounds pretty incredible! We are always very careful around the edges of high places. Sometime the wide angle gives the illusion that we are farther out than we are. Jess doesn’t like heights so she is always erroring on the side of caution!😃

I almost feel stupid admitting it, but the first time I saw the Grand Canyon 2 years ago, I actually started to cry. Part of it was because I couldn’t tell my Dad about it ( he had recently passed away), but I also could hardly accept how beautiful it is. Watching your video had me choking up again - it’s just such an amazing place and you can’t appreciate the beauty until you actually see it in person.
@FindingOurSomeday3 жыл бұрын
Not stupid at all. There are many places that have made me emotional because I thought of my dad who passed away 7 years ago. He is the reason for our SOMEDAY and even still I forget for a split second sometimes that I can't call him and tell him what we did or saw that day and the emotions come rolling in. So glad the video brought you back. So sorry to hear about your father. Thank you for watching and joining us on our journey! - Jess

Great video! What’s you opinion on a camera. We started camping last year and all our photos are taken with our iPhones. I was considering a GoPro or something durable in hopes that I could get even nicer pictures and also the ability for nice videos. But it seems like they have the same mega pixels so I’m not so sure the pictures would be any nicer. I’m just scared to get an expensive cannon or something sense my kids are very young still. Thanks for any input!

The iPhone pro 11 and up is really all you need to capture things! Gopros are just handy to get wet and to have something dedicated. We use our phones for a lot of what we share, and we still only have iPhone 10s . We’re getting new ones soon😃 get a good camera when you feel you are limited in a certain area of photography. Like Astro or wildlife photography. That’s just my opinion. Honestly the 11 pro and up are huge steps forward for photos and video.

So when you’re back we’d highly recommend in Zion do Highway14 to Cedar Break National Monument. Beautiful drive and awesome views! Also from there through Cedar City to the north entrance to Zion at Kolob Canyon. See our pics at #oleredrvlife. Also awesome sunset in Cedar Break!

Thank you so much for the recommendations! We love hearing what others love in an area! And we can’t wait to go back to Zion!

The speed of that blinker relay would drive me nuts! Super fast. 😂

I put LED replacement bulbs that were supposed to not do that. I need to swap back regular lights . The lower watt draw from the LEDs makes the truck think a bulb is out. The sad part is , this video is old and I still haven’t swapped the lights that have been laying in a drawer 🤷♂️

Hey FOS, I'm a few episodes away from being up to date and heard you say you need a water filtration system - I would more than highly recommend the Zero Water! It is by far the best tasting and cleanest water you can get. I bought the 30-cup dispenser a couple years ago and still love it every day! My 17 year old son even drinks more water now than soda! Btw, I have enjoyed bingeing your channel and am a bit sad that I'm almost caught up... 😔😜 One last thing: Octobers in Oregon usually SUCK! You guys were lucky! 😆

I really enjoy your videos. We are from Arizona and love the Grand Canyon, Page, and Zion. I’m wondering, these videos must be pre-Covid? No one is wearing a mask lol.

Glad you are enjoying them! Yes pre Covid, the good old days 😃 just a couple more episodes until the pandemic hits. We will be current on videos at the end of this summer.

We love your videos. Your amazing camera and video skills transport us there. We have been trying to figure our how to get the same google maps you use and we can't find it! We tried landsat/copernicus with no luck. I did find an app for my cell phone, but it's blurry and no way as good of quality as yours. Besides, we want it on our laptop. Would you please tell me what I need to download on my lap top? I'm pretty sure it will cost a fee, but we really want it. Thanks in advance for letting me know!!! :-}
@FindingOurSomeday3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, stoked to hear your are enjoying the videos! That’s the best compliment you can give me, that you feel transported ! That’s my main goal😃 it’s Google Earth not Google maps . Google earth has the better 3D maps (although everything isn’t 3D mapped yet)
