For paint chips in black, try finger nail polish. It's lacquer, costs $4, and has a built in brush. I've used it and love it. The downside is you get a lot of strange looks if an old guy is perusing fingernail polish. I'm a fan of Honda, but the EU 3000is. Run the a/c. (I got mine through CL. saved a bunch and it only had 7 hours on it.)
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome! I kick myself whenever I think of it , the year before we left there was and almost new 3000 is on CL for $900 hindsight I should have bought it but we were in the middle of downsizing and I already had a small generator 🤷‍♂️ I have spent a lot of time in nail polish sections looking for a color to match the beige color😂 finally we smartened up and just asked grand design for some🙄 the 2200 will run out AC but it’s pushing it. I got a soft start but haven’t put it on yet, that make help it even more. We didn’t buy it to run the AC though. We just use an hr or 2 when boondocking it to charge batteries, and run the coffee pot/insta pot/toaster.
@brandonwebb7176

I have a Honda 2200 with a Hutch Mountain propane conversion and love it. You can run longer with the propane as opposed to the factory small fuel tank on the 2200. 20lb propane tank will last so over 30 hours run time and you can plumb it into your campers propane and still leave the generator in your truck bed locked up.

If you have the same generator (EU2000I) you might be able to get the lockable mount. I just looked at ours and it looks like somthing sold by Honda. The stand bolts to the legs of the generator then can be locked to the mount. The friends we bought Sydney from welded the mounts to the bumper. The generators can them be locked to the mount.

Our Honda EU 2000 ran reliably for 12 years of constant use. Oil change every 100 hours of use (the green run light flashes when you start it indicating hours.) The 2200 will run the microwave though sometime ya have to put the refer on gas to achieve that. We bought two 2200's and can run the RV AC and the extended run tank. Ya have to watch for wear on the pull start cords otherwise one pull and it snaps at the worse possible time. We put electrical heat-shrink tubing on the pull rope wear points.
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know that about the light flashing , will check that next time. We generally only run it a couple hrs a day while boondocking. Great idea for protecting the wear sections of the pull chord. That’s going on the list of projects, thank you!

@@FindingOurSomeday Just a local State Park in Ohio. Called Deer Creek State Park. It’s one of my favorite State Parks we’ve been to. We ordered a 5th wheel in August and sold our camper last September. Only had it on the market a few hours. Didn’t think it’d sell as quick as it did. But fast forward to December.. we finally got to pick up our new one. And it’s been hanging out (winterized) in our barn since. So we’re taking it on a week trip close to home to make sure everything works and give me time to fix anything that doesn’t before going to Tennessee at the end of the month.

My wife and I absolutely loved the Bozeman area. Enjoyed the video. I debated/reviewed long and hard on what generator I was going to buy. Like the Honda 2200 Inverters but needed one that would run the A/C. I didn't want to get a new mortgage necessary to buy one of the larger Honda's, so ended up going with the Champion 4K RV Ready Dual Fuel Inverter. Have it piped into my propane and it was less than $500. I keep the oil changed and have had no issues. Good luck with yours and keep up the excellent videos. Stay safe!

After growing up in the power equipment realm, 90% of people pick spark plug first. I’d say they were right 5% of the time. But a quick tip: instead of going to big box stores, try to frequent smaller knowledgeable businesses. Granted, their parking area is smaller, and their hours are more limited, but you’ll get what you want, with support after the sale. Great rig!

I agree about smaller local help. it probably needed some sort of Carb adjustment. Oil, spark plug , and some standard visual inspection was as far as I was willing to go. It was an older(13 years) , bigger, louder unit. I was at the point 2 years prior to it breaking, if this thing gives us trouble we’re replacing it😃 I got my use out of it. I need to follow up with the people we left it with to see if they ever fixed it. The guy didn’t seem to think it would be hard for him to fix. Thank you!

Love the generator!!. When we bought Sydney (Outback 260FL) the owner told us it came with 2 of the (EU2000I) generators. They can be paralleled together to create a 30 amp service. He welded 2 platforms on the back of Sydney that the generators can be locked to (Yours might have the same round lock on the frame). This allowed them to keep the air (and other things) on for their pets while traveling. Thanks for the tips on cleaning. We are bringing ours home the end of March for some dealer work and to give it a good cleaning. Corey, the owners never used the awning and when we opened it the awning was super moldy. What/how would you recommend cleaning it.

That’s definitely a score with that generator setup! Just buy a marine grade mildew cleaner. Pick a cloudy day or evening and just spray it on , the mildew will disappear . Rinse off any over spray. You kids are awesome. I want to go back to Glacier to spend time. I was out there for a motorcycle rally and only had time for a day drive thru the park. I don't want to take the road to the sun again - my heights problem has gotten worse. Looking over the side of the road, 1/4 mile straight down is now a panic attack event.
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
The west side has has more activity’s then the east side. Many glacier is the east side and you can go up to Logan’s pass (going to the sun road) from the east side, the road on that side isn’t anything like the west side. Logan’s pass has some epic views and hidden lake. The west side has the village , lake McDonald, and a bunch of hikes including avalanche lake.

@@FindingOurSomeday That's why I would like to visit again. I camped 2 miles east of Kalispell on the river and only had 1 day to drive through west to east. Bummer that it started raining and snowing on the down side going east. I was subbed to a gal from the area that did a lot of family trips into the park for camping. So many beautiful places I want to see. On the way out from Michigan, I want to spend a few days in Yellowstone as I only had 2 nights and 1 day to see it on my way home. Crazy story about the Glacier trip - at a stop on the way north in the park, I stopped at a turn out and chatted with a Canadian gal and her daughter on a Harley that were taking a trip for the girl's grad present. a few days later when we camped the first night in Yellowstone, when we woke in the morning, the same gals had come in after we crashed for the night and camped next to me.

Has anyone recommended the Rock Tamer mud flap? It attaches on the hitch to protect the front cap from the chips in the paint. I have an Eagle conventional travel trailer just like your Reflection and the Rock Tamers have been awesome! It will also keep the mud off the front cap in one of your previous videos.

Thanks for taking the time to recommend something! I really appreciate it🙏 I’ve have looked at them before. As much as I don’t like mud on the front cap or some chips , I prefer that over the look of the rock tammers. Most of the big chips came from on coming traffic so unfortunately it’s un avoidable.

Hot springs were outta control, coolness. I know some folks who use the zep floor wet look polish on their RVs. It does make our concrete campground store floors gleam. Went with a smaller generac this fall, Honda is still the best though, near the hot springs, or the harbor 😁. Great episode. Take care.

Wow! The Bozeman Hot Springs looked simply fantastic! And complimentary breakfast to boot....you probably don't see that much at campgrounds! I'll have to keep in mind how you buffed out the Mavic lens of scratches for my own...what did you use? Sorry you had to retire your old generator, but I'm sure the new Honda will work well for you! Looking forward to seeing more of Glacier!

Nope we definitely don’t see included breakfast that often, never since then 😃 I just used some of my car polish for the lens. I use Menzerna polishes. The lens cover that came with the drone broke. You will do just fine once you get used to it. We actually suggest that you go to a full hookup campground and pretend to be boondocking so that you can test your tanks and see how long you can go before you have to empty your grey and black tanks. We can go between 9-10 days on our black tank. We never would have gone a week boon docking with out testing it out first. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! 😃

Is the ceramic coating any good. I have a 2010 Ford that the dealer had put on a coating. They warranted the paint for 10 years and now it has chipped and scratches easy. The company was Auto Butler that did this from the dealer. Was this a ceramic coating they used? It was a 6 month process going in once a month. By the way I like to use a paper match to full in chips on the paint. I think it works better than a toothpick. Great show love your camera work!
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve used a paper match as well, that’s works awesome too! The ceramic coatings are legit now! Nothing on the market will last longer then 2 years , and will still scratch and need to be polished after a year to keep it looking good. As soon as you polish it you take any coating off anyway. The packages you buy at the dealer are more of a warranty then what they actually put on. I never recommend those packages. The meguires(or other) spray on ceramic coating is probably a 6 month product but you spray it on after a wash, rinse it, dry and it’s done. The ceramic sealant that you put on like traditional was is 1 year product.

Thank you, we like the community aspect of it😃 we have a little solar but mainly rely on our generator. We have propane stove and propane/electric fridge. If it’s just a day drive and we’re going hookups to hookups we just turn the fridge off. If we’re leaving to travel for several days or headed boondocking we just switch it to propane. It’s crazy efficient on propane.

That generator is not big enough to run all of your camper is it? Our LQ horse trailer is 30 amp they said we would need like 4550. That would run everything Ac, microwave lights. They said one like you got we couldn't run microwave and Ac at the same time. You guys have two Ac's so you have to be 50 amp. If you can let me know what you run at the same time. That is why we have not bought one yet cause the bigger one are noisy. Thank you guys are great.
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
Yes we are 50 amp. We didn’t buy it to run everything. We just use it an hr or 2 when boondocking to charge batteries, and run the coffee pot/insta pot/toaster/microwave . The lights and pump are 12 volt , the stove and refrigerator are propane. We try not to boondock if running the AC is going to be needed we do our best to stay up north or at elevation. If the goal is to run the AC 3,000 plus watt and a 30 amp connection is what you want. 30 amp and you can run an AC one other big item then a few small things.

@FindingOurSomeday

Yes and no, we ran it in a pinch once but it shut off after about 45 minutes. That was without a soft start , we have a soft start now but I haven’t tried it again. I tried to start the AC out of curiosity with it at 7k feet on a super hot day, it did not start it , but probably would have with the soft start. I’ll try this year. We just use it an hr or 2 when boondocking to charge batteries, and run the coffee pot/insta pot/toaster.

Since you don't plug your RV into it, do you just use the generator to charge RV batteries?
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын

@marty7277 3 жыл бұрын
@@FindingOurSomeday Oh ok...I see know. Is that any different from the generators that have the 30-amp outlet? I'm not sure how much you can run with either outlet, possibly no difference 🤔
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t make enough power to supply the full 30 amps (3600 watts) it only makes 18 amps total no matter what outlet you plug into. For instance when it’s running we could have the batteries charging, laptops charging, tv on, coffee pot on, and a few other small things. It could run the AC for a time with a soft start but this is not the generator to buy if you trying to run an AC. If your trying to run an AC or have the 30 amp plug you need the Honda 3000 or one of the other brands 3500s
