Just want to say thank you guys so much for the travels that you guys do. Before my kids came along (they don't live with me) I traveled a great deal internationally. They're in their teens now and in a few years more I'll be able to get back to it. Until then, I live through you guys. It is weird feeling to see such a huge military presence. I felt the same in France, the military presence at the Eiffel Tower was intense, the military had the big automatic weapons out. We have an airforce base in Albuquerque so we have military personnel, but they are not regularly seen carrying around the big weapons. Like you said... no need to be alarmed.

I envy both of you for your willingness to push the envelope and explore areas that ... well quite frankly I will never do. If I was younger and had the same adventuresome spirit that you both have ... that would have been different. Yeah, I couldn't figure that BCS "checkpoint". Policia Estatal, I think. There's no police inspection going from El Sur to El Norte. El Norte has all the agriculture, so what's the problem in Sur? Some suggest it's just a tourist tax. I don't know, but 20 pesos is nothing. Malarrimo has a good bar, with a large tequila selection.

Beware if you drive that in the future, there is one tool booth that I could see on Google Earth satellite imagery at N29 48 43 W114 25 05 So it looks like they are going to make Mexico 5 Cuota road, though that is the only toll booth I can find on Mex 5, right now, on Google Earth. A lot of the new roads in Mexico are Cuotas, but would worth the money, as they are safer and faster than the roads they have replaced.

You have a good reason to be People are putting drugs in the vehicles of unsuspecting people to get their stuff If you ever drive in Mexico cover up the vin number on your windshield so some can't take that number and get a key made Also, some drug kingpins put tracking devices on cars so they can find your car and purmt the drugs in later.

Naw, they probably just charged you 20 pesos for the "spray" and sprayed WATER up onto the bottom of the RV. ROFL. (I'm a bit cynical when it comes to people these days. Everyone is scrambling to figure out a way to separate tourists from their $$ regardless of the country one is in it seems. For instance, California is NOTORIOUS for nickel and diming EVERYBODY, tourists and locals alike. One of the reasons I hate that state. It's a beautiful state, don't get me wrong. I just hate their attitude when it comes to fees.) All of those cactus along the side of the road as you were driving in looked so pretty to me. Safe travels, y'all!
@bobbybaldeagle7027 жыл бұрын
So what would they have done if you didn't have any fruit in your RV? Would you have still had to pay for them to spray the underside of your RV??? For some reason that whole thing didn't make since to me. I think that I may have just grabbed that banana and ate it and then said not no more. And tried to keep my money... LOL... But on the other hand I don't think them guys have much of a since of humor. From things I've heard. Give them what they want which in this case was your money and just move on down the road. With the feeling of I just got ripped off but I'm rolling on down the road.... I got to wonder if that wasn't just plain water they sprayed under you rig. Because they weren't wearing any type of hazmat suits... Who knows :0P
