I used your Alaska Highway videos as I prepared for my trip to Alaska (from Oregon) this year. It was a wonderful trip! I'm happy to see this series pop up today since Newfoundland is my destination for next year. I'm just starting my research and planning and will look forward to the whole series. Thank you for the great videos. Give Ranger an ear scritch from me.

Last year I watched your trip to Alaska, it was great. I see you have a new truck for this adventure. I would also like to go to Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2015 we took our 5th wheel to the Cabot Trail and stayed in the same campground as you. It was a great holiday. We arrived in the rain after driving through some road construction with large potholes. In the morning I woke to find my trailer on an angle. I thought the trailer had sunk in the ground due to the rain but found out I had 2 flat tires on the trailer. The tire shop informed me I had broken belts in both tires and they were unfixable. The day before I had a blowout just before the NB/NS border and damaged the side of my 5th wheel.

Thanks Chris! Re Nfld….we highly recommend it. We loved every minute of the trip. It can be foggy, windy or cool…or all 3 at the same time 😉, but so worth it. The scenery in the small coastal communities is amazing and the people so friendly. When we were waiting for the ferry to take us back to the mainland Cindy decided she didn’t want to leave😁 ….we will def be going back….and it was much more affordable than Alaska, even with the ferry costs. Episode 4 should be out soon. And as for your adventure on the Cabot Trail…wow! Just glad they didn’t go while you were underway and do even more damage.

Another great trip coming. I love it when I see you stop at things I've been too. We traveled in 2019 from Wisconsin to Cape Breton for the Celtic Colours Festival. We drove across from Sault Ste Marie. We stopped in Montreal, Moncton NB, went to Hopewell Rocks St Park, but missed Alma. I'll have to go back for fresh rolls! We toured Sydney, and we missed out on the Cabot Trail due to a very windy and stormy day. Looking forward to the rest of this adventure.

The only route that might even be more beautiful than the Cabot Trail, is the drive around Quebec highway 132 of the Gaspe Penninsula. A much longer drive but just amazing. One thing for sure, when you tackle the Cabot Trail with your trailer in tow you need to understand that D is not the only position the transmission should be in. 1 and 2 come in very handy.... one might even say that if you don't use 1 and 2, you might end up doing 1 and 2. Great start to your trip. continued safe travels.

We did that route on the way home - should be in episode 14. 😉 thanks for watching!

@@TrueNorthCamping I might be ever so slightly biased as I grew up in Gaspe.. :) but it is a wonderful drive.....as are so many other places that we can take our trailers to in North America.

We have a similar setup, Ram half ton and smaller travel trailer and I’ve been getting 7.5-8.5 mpg. I used to be in the 10’s. Any way nice setup. Enjoy the trip.
