Owner of 2021 Tiffin 32sa, V10 Came with Sumo springs. Before purchasing, Read about driving issues and got advice, “drive it and then make upgrade decisions”. 15k miles later I don’t have any issues on the ride. I get the push by a semi and some porpoising over bumpy bridges. I might be ignorant as it’s my first MH. The larger tires and upgraded chassis might also help. Just wanted to provide a positive driving experience on the Ford F53 Chassis.

Thanks for sharing your experience Eddie. It is not always necessary to make all the upgrades that I mentioned in the video. And I'm glad that you mentioned your experience to support that conclusion. BTW, just adding Sumo springs as you have now has been all that many Ford chassis owners needed. It's a pretty cheap and effective upgrade. Thanks for watching!

Top of the morning to you Duane. I've fallen be behind the past couple of weeks. Regarding insurance companies and options, a must have, sure builds up over fifty years to be a lot green spent! The latest video is right on the money. I believe when the time comes for our new class A purchase we are going to choose a gas powertrain. The Superstar would be my number one choice if that doggone money tree would bloom! Ha not happening. When you figure in purchase price, maintenance cost and fuel costs we are going to go gas. The items that I will miss the most are the torque and the JACOB'S Brake. What a SAFETY feature that is!! SAFE TRAVELS

That's a good choice Ron. Gas Class A RVs are a much less expensive way to enjoy the Class A touring experience. And with some suspension and steering upgrades they can really handle pretty well. We all need to keep our eye on the ball. The best things about RVing are the adventures and fun that it affords us, not just the RV that takes us there. I'm sure that you'll find the rig that meets your needs perfectly!

I have a 2021 Entegra Emblem 36u. Very happy with it including the factory ride. I paid no where near the current MSRP back in 2021. I did not get an inspection and there were a few issues which I discovered later which were easily fixed by me. I think an inspection is the safer way to go for sure

Agree with your choices and other comments. I had a stock gasser on a Ford chassis and driving it was a white knuckle experience.......one long trip and I was done with it. It was too old of an RV to put a lot of money into upgrading the suspension so I sold it for a DP. If you buy a gas class A, spend the money and upgrade the springs, shocks and add a Safe T Steer. Liquid Springs is supposed to be excellent but fairly expensive.

Newbie here, decided to start looking for a used 2014-2020 class A (going with gas after seeing your video) I live in CA but considering buying from RV Trader and possibly out of state. Do you travel to other areas for inspection?

Unfortunately my schedule is jam packed for the foreseeable future now, so I won't be able to inspect any RVs for you at this time. But there are plenty of other NRVIA inspectors that I'm sure could do a fine job for you though. Just visit nrvia.org and select "Find An Inspector". Then you can view all of the local inspectors on the map there and contact them about their availability. Any certified NRVIA inspector has the necessary training to provide a top quality RV inspection for you. I usually recommend choosing the one that you feel most comfortable with.

Hi Ron. Holiday Rambler made some very high quality RVs back in those days, so it certainly should be worthy of consideration. As always though, when thinking about buying a coach of that age, I recommend getting a certified RV inspection to make sure that it is in good workable condition throughout the coach. I hope it works out for you!

Of particular importance to me is having an easy escape exit in the rear of the coach. Neither Tiffin or Newmarket offer their escape doors/big window for the gas models. I guess they feel only the rich who can afford the high end diesels are worth giving the piece of mind knowing they can escape easily in an emergency.
@RVInspectionAndCare
@RVInspectionAndCare Жыл бұрын
Of course, there is almost always an exit window in the bedroom that pops out easily in an emergency. And usually it's big enough to handle the size of most people. But maybe the escape exit doors will become more popular as time goes on too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this subject Jean.

Inspection of a new rv !!! Sad the manufacturer can’t give you a quality product!!
@RVInspectionAndCare
@RVInspectionAndCare 2 жыл бұрын
I agree completely Bryan. But that is the current state of the RV industry. Some of the issues they are facing is not entirely of their making because nobody could have foreseen all the complications arising from Covid. But it's clear that high quality is not necessarily on the priority list of some RV manufacturers these days. To be fair, they will usually fix the problems that leave the factory under warranty. But if you don't get them resolved before you take delivery, you can often expect to be on a long waiting list to get it done. Of course, if RV sales start to sag as it appears that they might, you may see some changes being forced on the industry when the consumer begins to have the upper hand. We'll see!

It should be against the law to allow a stock Ford F53 chassis on the road!! IMHO it is actually a DANGER to drive. Yes the Liquid Spring system is costly but the improvement in ride and handling and stress reduction is worth every penny in my mind. My 2019 Bay Star is now a pleasure to drive and not having white knuckles while driving is so nice.

Right picks for top 3 / best Class A gas motorhomes. We had a 2019 Tiffin 32SA and really liked the layout it had, especially for two people. What I did not like about it, and any other gas rig, was the F53 chassis. It was a miserable ride and handled poorly. At the time, Liquid Springs was new to the market, and a aftermarket install was pushing $20K. We opted for Henderson’s Line-Up to redo our total suspension and add a few things. Was it cheap, but roads and handled better. Never like the high reviving V10, and it was ok on flats, sucked on grades. We since moved to Tiffin DP and have never looked back. I’m curious if the new engine and suspension system on the gas coaches is significantly better, or not.
@RVInspectionAndCare
@RVInspectionAndCare 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael. It's so true that the biggest gripe about the Ford chassis is the ride and handling. And you have to wonder why they haven't addressed that issue more effectively over the years. And the V-10 engine sure could get loud when pulling a grade. So far the reports about the new V-8 are good. But we will have to see how well it holds up over the long haul. Thanks for your thoughts on the subject!

They put a lot of stuff in a diesel motorhome that they can't put in a gas motorhome because of the weight. The four corner Liquid Springs could cost you $25,000. I know a couple people who did that and swear that it was the best decision they ever made.
@RVInspectionAndCare

Yes Roy, I have heard very good things about Liquid Spring suspensions too. The fact that Tiffin is offering it as a factory installed upgrade says a lot about its effectiveness too.

@@marychristie6194 As I said in the video, my research indicates that LS can be installed for much less than $25K. For instance, many are saying that you can order a Tiffin with LS for around $12K. At that cost, it could be well worth it in my opinion.

@@marychristie6194 Hi Mary, We did the four corner LS upgrade on our 2022 Coachmen. The upgrade was 23k. The diesel equivalent floor plan to our coach is 100k more than we paid. Diesel fuel is more expensive and maintaining a gas coach is less expensive. It made sense (cents) for our family to go this route. We love our coach and the ride is safe. Cheers!
