New Fan and checking out your page and videos. Disabled Marine Veteran and just picked up a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited. Tan and previous owner did some nice mods. Dana 44s front and rear, AEV snorkel, 38X13.50X17s with Falkin Wild Country, bead locked. Other mods, lights and fenders. Both F-R bumpers changed for off-roading. Need a winch. Hoping to get back into overlanding but age dictated getting a trailer. did this in NH and now in Kansas. Miss doing it. 3rd wrangler I've owned, 2nd Rubicon. Previous a 06 TJ. installed a lift and some bigger tires in it. Now starting out with a great base with my new one. So, shopping for a trailer my rig can handle. 106K on the V6 motor. Love the look of your product. Can you color match with the Dune/Tan color Jeep offered in 2013-14? I'm a Desert Storm Veteran. Infantry mortarman on the frontline. So doing to do an homage to Desert Shield/Storm. I was there. 90% disabled now so working on a slim budget.

Excellent video. Thank you for being such a great source of information. I had crossed this trailer off my list because of no 12v heat and air, but it sounds like you fixed it. Dealer here in Texas didn't offer a solution so I'll happily purchase from you when it's time. How insulated do you think the Conqueror is? I'm curious how well the AC will do in hot climates.
@ROAOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Frankly, These trailers are not insulated great for extreme weather. It will keep you comfortable. But 20-30 I was very comfortable but much less will not be good. I don’t think 100+ will be comfortable either.

Did I hear that right? You can't close the doors with the steps down? I thought I'd seen it all when it comes to trailers, but that's a first! It's a cool looking, well made, and oddly designed trailer. It will be interesting to see how they sell in the US, especially versus off roaders like the Dweller and RKS Purpose. For me personally it would be a little disconcerting to pay top dollar to buy a new high-end off road trailer and then immediately need to change out the steps, heating and AC units to make it truly functional for boondocking.

You could put a recitculate valve in hot water to circulate and not waste water until your ready. Turn valve and all hot water no waste. And no extra tank... easy fix... Your welcome Anthony Greene Would love to try one out for my gladiator...

Many thanks for this deep and detailed review. Look, I’m doubting between the UEV 440 and the 490. Obviously the 490 is more appealing and it’s much more useful as caravan than the 440, but my concern is about off road capability and ease of maneuverability (specifically off-roading). I have a Nissan Frontier 2023 with some good mods that make it very good off-road, but I’m not sure if the 490 would limit it too much or how much more than the 440. I find the 440 more camper trailer than everything is done outside as the inside is more for just sleep. The 490 gives this plus of inside usability while remaining a mainly outside living. I’m not looking for an all inside caravan, I want adventure in family, so not interested on big and heavy things. But with a small kid, if the 490 doesn’t limit me that much compared to the 440…it could be a great tool. I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Great trailer but don't dis the Bruder. Regarding the water heater, what about the Truma AquaGo Comfort Plus? Does it fit on the same space? Most people rave about it and you can have instant hot water? Are the pantry shelves adjustable? You have stuff that fit there but some people may buy taller/bigger stuff. Love the kitchen. From the dinnerware that it purposely fitted to the drawers to unplumbed container to clean the dishes. Definetly saves water. The whole double bat wings and wall enclosures it is also great. The camping table can't be manufacturerd with telescoping legs? The connection to charge from the vehicle (Andetson plug), does the towing vehicle needs a modification for this to work?

I love the idea of this camper with all the available storage. I think it's a con that the 490 does not have a hard top for the front pop out tent. The 440 has a hard top since the hatch opens up versus down. I wish the 490 kept that same design.
Hi mate, this was a fantastic video giving such an in-depth experience of everything to do with the 490. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Can I ask, What is the brand of air conditioning that you offer that is offgrid?

Love the Conqueror and looking at a 490. We previously had a Tvan from Track Trailer. Track from Australia are known for the toughest campers in the world and have been in buisness for 37 years. Longer than Conqueror. Their chassis and suspension is next level again. Very interstate suspension setup with huge articulation. They are also bread from a military contract. Like I said, our next camper will be a 490 due to price and what we are looking for however just clearing things up re history. There are also other Australian builders that have been around longer.

Can you do a video on the front bed deployment and canopy? I think I'm missing something.
@thomasmoss46472 жыл бұрын
Not much to it. On our 2014 model (and I assume it's still the same), pull the pin that holds the V shaped bracket on the front of the trailer closed, undo 2 latches at the top left and right of the bed (on the front outside of the trailer), then pull down the bed with the V-shaped bracket. The bracket then rests on a bracket on the tongue and the pin goes back in to hold it securely. Then go inside and lay out the mattress and push up on the crossbar that holds the canvas up. Lock the crossbar into place on both sides and it's done. Takes less than 5 minutes at a leisurely pace.

@ROAOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
You absolutely could, Shane is 6' and as you can see he has at least a foot and a half of headroom while he's underneath the awning, and the height of it is easily adjustable, so the height numbers aren't always exact, especially taking into account what the airbag psi is set at.
