If you have the room, save the tire and tube from the old wheel. Then you have a replacement for the rear tire when either the tire itself is worn out or you need the tube. Waiting for our two kits for our bikes. Great video, thanks!!

If you are having a problem with brake rubbing, there is a very easy way to make the adjustment. Before tightening the caliper mounting bolts, insert a piece of business card between the caliper and the rotor (on both sides). Lightly hold the brake lever and tighten the caliper bolts. Release the brake lever and remove the business cards. Your brakes should be perfectly aligned and adjusted.

Followed your steps albeit at a stop ‘n go (sometimes rewind) slower pace and was able to successfully install my Hydraulics! I did have to remove the bike lock holder that’s located under the seat to squeeze the rear brake calipers thru the inside frame. My only other problem, in the beginning, was actually trying to seat my Lectric onto the bike stand which really was meant for traditional bike frames! Thanks, really appreciate you!

I’m actually a bit stunned, I thought this would have been a difficult complicated job, but you showed all your steps so well, that It isn’t difficult for anyone who can use some simple tools. Plus I had no idea, (but didn’t investigate either, lol) how to adjust the rubbing of the breaks, although I don’t have that brand of ebike, i bet the ideas n parts are similarly the same. 🍻
@RVwithTito
@RVwithTito Жыл бұрын
Yeah. It's not difficult. The hydraulic brakes are actually easier. Its also common to have a little rubbing on new brake pads until they wear in a bit.

Nice video. I finished my install the morning your released the video. In the instructions Lectric doesn't have you replace the brackets for the calipers, just the caliper itself as you did. Seems like the caliper alignment is pretty critical. You've got to love a company like Lectric that would send these upgrade kits for free. Had to cost them a good bit of money. Not only does the bike stop on a dime now, it gives you 4 cents change!

Thanks your video made a difference, I have the other model a couple things to keep in mind for the other model, I ended up with a few extra inches on the rear brake cable which makes sense as the angle makes for a shorter run, so I was not able to get it all back in the rapping. But not to bad, also had to remove the mounted lock if you have it to get the rear brake through. . what a great feeling when on the first try the front brake lined up no scratch sound! simply got it close spon the wheel pinched the lever, tighten while holding lever down. The rear took a few more adjustments. also take before pictures! I had to reference them often! Especially for re-rapping.. so thanks again excellent video! And very happy with Lectric and there customer service amazing, couple people purchased these from my experience and company seems like they will do right by their customers.

I complained for months about the brakes and the poor quality components on my Lectric XP 3.0 and everyone gave me such a hard time. It was obvious that early reviewers were either A. Purposefully ignoring these shortcomings or B. Given test models with sidfewnt components. This wasn’t a bonus that the company gave us. Today I received an email from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission asking me to stop using my XP 3.0 immediately because of the risk of failure/wrecks. They are being forced to do this.

Thanks for the video. I recently saw there's a RECALL on the Lectric XP 3.0 mechanical brakes. It states that when the brakes are improperly adjusted, the brake cable actuator arm can over-rotate, dislocating parts and causing the brake calipers to fail. I'm a newbie on brakes. What possible problems could happen on the hydraulic brakes? I did not see any brand name on the brakes. Do the hydraulic brakes have a brand name?

Properly set up and quality mechanical disk brakes should logically offer identical stoppi g power, assuming you have hands strong enough to apply, what? 1.5x-2x the force to the handles, all things neing equal (rotor size/type/condition, pad size/type/condition, caliper alignment, and proper caliper to rotor geometry. That said, almost anyone will prefer the feel, reduced application force and modulation of a Hydraulic set up. My question has been centered on: do i want the easier installation of cable pull hydraulic calipers such as Juin Tech (where I simply can NOT find 180mm rotor kits) or a full kit with motor kill wires, 4 piston calipers and proper rotors from "Zoom" - a decidedly budget driven kit, or buy the components I need to do it right. On an 84 lb Okai EB50 with a 750/1000w motor, I think the right thing is obvious. Im thinking 325-375 for top level gear. Hell, i dont wanna die! 😂
