I totally agree with Martin Luther King. Personality matters, not skin color. I think it is racist to judge people by their skin color or race. I like the opinions in the interwiews, but I also understand that they don't know much about white people and can't find out without a trip to the US or Europe. It makes a big difference who a person is. There are poor white people who have nothing and live and die homeless on the streets. Some countries are cold and such people sometimes die in the cold. There are decent people you can trust. There are white gangsters who have no problem killing someone. There are white countries where it is common for a man to beat a woman. There are countries where man and woman are equal. I think all people are the same, culture makes some differences. I know a Kenyan woman who got married here. She's in business. She's a black woman, she's smart and talented at business and she's more successful than the average white man. Many whites disagreed with colonialism and slavery. Many whites in the past lived not too dissimilarly to slaves. They had to go into the army and died for the king. They were serfs and had to work for free for the rulers (but they had also a time to work for themselves). USA is probably more racist country than Europe except of very east or east south Europe and the message of today was: Norvegian princes got married to a black american.

Interesting. What was "FBA" culture prior to contact with yt folks? Just curious. Must have had tons of inventions and marvels that influenced even the ancient world. Trade with "FBA" should have existed thousands of years prior to the slave trade so what was "FBA" native or indigenous language? What were the foodstuffs and hairstyles? What was "FBA" family structure? What were "FBA" cities and universities like? Regarding early American history, warring and 'troublesome' natives were often swapped out or sold as slaves to the Carribbean and Caribbean slaves, particularly from Barbados, were sent to the Carolinas. Understand that? The large scale Carolina plantation was actually transplanted from British Barbados. The Yamassee wars, look up what happened to some of them. There's also a story about a slave doing prayers 5 times a day in muslim fashion. Why would he do that in white "christian" America? Was there a connection to his Muslim practices and the preexistence of Islam in west Africa? Listen, the building and MARKETING of America was a process. Many components were involved. Of course Black Americans contributed greatly to a variety of fields but don't play down or omit other populations. It makes "FBA" look like a wacky cult group.

First, Black people in the United States should drop the term 'Black American' and pick an African name for the (collective) group, probably KiSwahili on a practical level, e.g., Maboma ('many villages' < Kiswahili). The term African American (or African-American) has more dignity (and more comprehensive richness) by far comparatively, even though having a name w/o the word American in it will be far more beneficial and healthy. However, the "Black American" term does nothing to denote that the associated person is of African origin. In fact, the term "Black American" sounds like someone who is classified as an appendage culturally , ethnically and philosophically to the American, the name that the white colonizers, who founded the eventual United States, gave themselves. As you know, so-called African-Americans collectively emanate from the synergy geo-space of the Senegambia-Congo-Angola tri-node region+Mozambique vicinity+Madagascar; for convenience, I coin this as Kijiji Kikubwa ('big village' in KiSwahili). The basic African tapestry of the United States emanates from the cultural overtones of Congo and KiSwahili as extensions, e.g., gumbo; marimba; Jenga (woodblock games found in stores) and so on. Has everyone in the chat read the following books which expand my comments: Bantu Speaking Heritage of the United States (Vass, 1979); Kongo Across the Waters (Cooksey et al, 2012); UWENZI: The Pan-African Factor, A 21st Century View (Akombo et al, 2016)? If not, please do so. The African culture in the US is based on this geo-ethnic background (as I have earlier stated). Everyone needs an ethno-lingua-cultural reference for themselves which references the 7 major areas of culture: ethos, economics, politics, creative arts, social organization, history and mythology. Put all of the greatest talents, achievements and narratives from past and present under the banner of the new name. Though the group is based in the US, having a home and affiliation in Africa is part of the birthright as well as a conduit for economic and political leverage in a mzungu (white) dominated country (United States). The group should state that they are Africans. This creates proper order. Second, develop an Africa linkage/engagement plan. Multi-level engagement w/ Africa is the basic solution and path forward for African-Americans. Just thinking outside the box by a Bantu passing by.

As a Zimbabwean, I was shocked with your responses. I cant imagine hearing an African Woman saying White people are close to God, are rich and can be respected more than a black person. I feel like you have a lot to re- learn and learn. You have shown me that indeed Decolonising the mind is required in some parts of Africa. I dont think people think like this in Zimbabwe.

I think you should have an interpreter and conduct these interviews in their native language so that you can get more thoughtful and coherent responses. Your asking good questions but many times the responses make very little sense.

@@jpaultelchannel1702 How far back in history do you want to apologize for? 100 years? 500 or 1000 years? If you go far back enough every person on the planet would have ancestors who committed wrong acts. Following your logic, everyone would have to apologize to everyone

@Master133464 ай бұрын
@@jpaultelchannel1702 Everyone apologizing to everyone is a bit silly like I've already explained. You shouldn't apologize to anyone if you haven't personally commited wrong deeds against them. Also, we shouldn't be too quick to judge people from the past based on what we think is right or wrong today. What's considered moral changes over time. Take slavery as an example. For most of human history, in almost all cultures, people thought slavery was normal. Today, we see slavery as very wrong. But back then, people grew up in a world where it was common. They didn't have the same ideas about human rights that we have now.
