19:50 Adam was very good at putting up a facade on how poorly he treated people such as Blake. That's why people have continued to follow him. Ilia doesn't understand that Adam abused Blake because she's never seen it.

I think it's more so that Ilia is making a comparison on how she shares the same vision as Adam, and Blake calling her out on it being morally wrong seems like something she can toss back at Blake like "you had no issues with it when you fell for Adam, you too saw it this way before" while also throwing in that little grudge as well.

This episode has one of my favorite Weiss moments where she opens up a little more about her family life. Like we already knew that her family was terrible but now we get even more information on _why_ her family was so dysfunctional and how badly it affected Weiss. You get the feeling that she was such an ice queen in Volumes 1 and 2 in order to protect herself like how Blake was so stand offish to protect herself.

Why does anyone follow Adam? He gets results. He's strong. And like most abusers, he does the really messed up stuff behind closed doors. Heck, we didn't even get the vibe that Adam was abusive until Volume 3 when he goes "hello, my darling~" and backhands Blake. I really like the reasoning and explanation you guys came up with for Ilia's confession. She is a whole wrapped up mess. She's a faunus that doesn't look like one, that grew up pretending to be a human until her parents died. She teamed up with the White Fang and met Blake. She grew close to Blake but knew her and Adam were a thing. Blake suddenly leaves Adam, her, and the whole White Fang without a word. Ilia's grown up in such a confusing and unfair way; she's someone who could easily be manipulated. Someone who needs a home, a pillar to lean on. And it's just...really sad. Also, god, I love her voice actor, she's stellar no matter what she says. And one of my favorite lines from Ilia: "There are those that still hate the faunus and those that stand back and let the hate happen!"

What is said about sun is a good point but theres a certain way that crwby writes the characters that should be mentioned. Its all based on character relevance and importance/impact to the current plot/story of the season. While sun is here a lot, hes here mainly to help BLAKE grow as a character, a position that would normally be taken up by RWY. But given the circumstances this is not possible. Sun does not really have any purpose other than to help blake, so far. However characters gain more development the more relevant they are to the current plot of that volume. Because they are now the focus. This could be said about characters like Ruby, Jaune, Nora and Ren. Because of the plot focus on mending WBY and reconnecting with ruby, more attention is needed on the three who have gotten the most development since the fall. Theres also the villain plot to consider. Which characters are more directly involved in that. Its better to look at things as not if we will get answers but when.

I disagree with your view of Ilia actions. The way I read her in that situation was that she is a soldier following orders, _despite_ her hots for Blake. The regret is genuine, but she already did choose the side she is on and will remain faithfull, no matter the emotional conflict. Overall I do like this White Fang politics story arc, even if it is simplified. I does add sense of realism to the setting, as infighting and internal power struggles are always a problem for revolutionary / underground / guerilla fighting organisations, no matter what their ideas might be.

And I am so glad I'm not the only one who thinks what she did was kind of an asshole move on her end. And it's not that I wanted them to never reconcile, but after this? It doesn't really feel like it meant anything, it's never brought up, never talked about, and that always just rubbed me the wrong way.
