I never took Raven's knowledge of Qrow's semblance into consideration. Your right, she would probably expect plans to go off track if Qrow is in the mix. I always thought she was baiting Cinder by playing down Qrow's capabilities, knowing that he would screw things up because of his skill, giving her cover to escape with the relic. Her saying 'when the chaos reaches it's peak, they'll make their escape' has new meaning now.

That's a good point. Remember, one of Cinder's main mistakes was drawing so many powerful opponents to the attack on Haven. She really thought that the number of combatants didn't matter, and she lost the day, badly.

All that time spent watching so many different shows, it's got to be tough trying to remember all the fine details of any one show. I always thought the crow outside Qrow's window was actually Raven, because of her portal sound, which Qrow recognized earlier when Yang and Weiss joined them! The only other time you saw the spring maiden use her powers was when Yang and Weiss was about to fight their way out of the camp. Vernal yelled “Enough!” and a bolt of lightning struck in front of Yang and Weiss. Raven then thanked Vernal. The “black panther” shield was aura. That was explained in volume one and displayed throughout the series. It’s one of the most fundamental rules of RWBY and I’m guessing it’s being forgotten somewhere among all the reactions you guys do lol

SIDE NOTE: if you don't remember she ran away from Mistral because ever since she became the Spring Maiden her people wanted her to trained and do other stuff which was to much for her so she ran away. Long story short she found Raven and the tribe which is her new family and ever since she pled her loyalty to Raven back then and now.

We already saw the maiden power used to stop Yang and Weiss from fighting in Raven's camp and Raven thanked Vernal for it. Was kinda already confirmed. 14:00 That was his aura. The Relic of Knowledge was typo'd in the subtitles. 25:46 She can teleport to people she bonds to and they're all headed to Haven Academy. Makes for a very quick trip to Haven, no?

The "black panther shield" from blakes father was his aura, they have only recently started to visualize the auro in fights to let us see that moves did a lot of damage or that a fighter is about to be unable to battle when his aura breaks. Its a bit confusing since they dont really explain it to much but as you watch the show its important to know.

I don’t know how far you’ve watched at this point but I would recommend watching the last part of Volume 5 on that blu-ray you got sent if you haven’t finished. There are some animation errors they fixed on the Blu-ray version so if you can watch it that way, I would recommend it.

Cinder Fall has the greatest number and scale of successes than _any_ villain in the show. Watts and Tyrian haven't accomplished nearly as much as she has.

@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain She may have had the biggest wins but she's also had by far the biggest fuck ups (losing a relic twice, losing the winter maiden powers to Penny). Watts hasn't failed in any of his assigned missions and he always puts the goal first. He may have got captured in volume 7 but he did everything he had to do before falling into a trap (and even then turned the position to his advantage by hacking Penny). Cinder constantly lets her ego interfere with the mission (like when she went after Penny in the arena in volume 8 and got beat.) It's almost comedic the way she boasts about power and nearly constantly loses. Watts has an ego but he respects the power of who he's up against. Plus if we're giving Cinder main credit for taking down Beacon, we should give Watts credit for taking down Atlas. Though I believe Salem masterminded both of those.

I think this was the episode that finally soured the show for me completely and turned me almost whole hog to the critics' side of things. I had certainly watched the critiques of RWBY as early as Volume 3. And I definitely wasn't a fan of Volume 4 during my first watch. But it was this episode, with the horrendous pacing, the bad VA work, and the absolute lack of logic for the finale's set up, that removed the fog from my eyes regarding this show. And boy howdy, did the finale ever not help with my impression after that.
