Dope plot I'll agree with, but not the pacing. There's so much they had to cram into this volume that I can't help wishing it had been two, just so everything could be explored properly and the new characters could have enough screen time for us to really get to know them.

I have also never heard that phrase before and when I first heard it, I thought it was another way of saying someone is crazy and in the Looney Bin. So much so, I immediately thought of a character and what I thought they would look like. Then I looked in the Comments of another Reactor and found out it means something else and became disappointed lol. To this day, I still think of that Character I made up from time to time and I always fall in love with that character everytime.

Ironwood hugging Qrow is one of my absolute favorite moments. To Damarin, if I remember what I read correctly, the war of the world panic ended up being a story used to advertise the radio broadcast. It just took off so much that everyone believed there had been a panic.

Agreed with the hug - it shows just how stressed Ironwood has been. Their interactions in Volume 3 showed they weren't close "if you were one of my men I'd have you shot" and yet Ironwood hugged Qrow as soon as he got a moment alone with him because he finally has someone with him that was on Ozpin's team and understands what he's going through

Just for the record, Salem's team is Watts, Tyrion, Cinder, Hazel are known as team Witch (WTCH) in the fandom. Watts and Tyrion were sent here by Salem because she wants the relic. Kinda like how Cinder was sent to Beacon to get the relic for Salem. And Team RWBY was completely tired cause they basically went from the Finale of chapter six and all of that happening to the beginning of chapter seven, the fighting again, getting arrested, and then a tour of the Academy. So they were exhausted.

to be fair to General Ironwood and Atlas Military. He plans to tell Atlas first, fight off the Grimm that the panic will cause THEN afterward, the Atlas military will start to disburse throughout the world and when they are in position, they'll let everyone else know. It's not like they're going to tell everyone and then go to places after they've been attacked, Gen Ironwood is trying to be proactive, not reactive.

The single-minded focus on building Amity isn't consistent with that, though, since that's only needed for the second half of the plan. What he _should_ have been focusing on was building up Atlas and Mantle defenses to survive the first part of the plan. But as usual he completely ignored Mantle. Other than lip-service, such as naming Penny its protector.

@@ItsB1998 Penny was fine, but the other robots weren't very good against even basic Grimm. And he completely ignored gaping holes in the walls for months. And never updated their security network, despite knowing that someone hacked his old systems at Beacon. If he took Mantle seriously, Watts would at least have had a significantly harder time, if not been completely locked out. And pretty much everything that went wrong would have gone better.

Well, their plan is telling Atlas first, deal with the grimm there and then tell the rest of the world while sending their fleet there to assist. Since Ironwood no longer believes in Oz approach to keeping it a secret due to how things went at Beacon, hence "A New Approach", rally everyone against the common enemy. But Mikey is right, our crew after Emerald & Mercury, Raven, Leo, and Oz they probably got good reason to not trust anyone right away anymore, and there's no guarantee of the plan working aside from the mass panic, since Ironwood also doesn't knows what they do, tho they also fear how he will react if he did learn about Salem and the relic right away. Also Damarin on point with the references again.

Fun Facts Fact 1: In the Volume 7 Crew Commentary, it's stated that Ironwood returning the Relic of Knowledge to Ruby's Group was his greatest showing of trust. Fact 2: The writers have stated that this episode was really tricky to write because it was getting close to an exposition dump. They had to balance movement and how much the characters can emote, especially when they lie. Ironwood's office shifting to present his plan was a cool idea and it was another way to stay in the room without things getting boring. Fact 3: They really wanted Team RWBY to feel like they were on the right path and had something to follow, establishing the theme of trust early on. Fact 4: Connor Pickens joked that he thought that Ironwood should propose to Oscar when he was kneeling. Fact 5: The writers commented on how positively Penny stated "it will be just like Beacon again" when she got destroyed there in Volume 3. Fact 6: The commentary for this episode was recorded on Kerry Shawcross's birthday.

Their technology is powered by dust, and dust loses power beyond the atmosphere of Remnant. Amity tower wil need to maintain the lowest possible orbit to function. But if Ironwood wanted to protect Atlas, he should've upgraded the code in Mantle as well. Still, not as big a mistake as Ruby deciding not to tell Ironwood stuff, after everyone was so mad about Ozpin's secrets... but let's be honest, James needed that hug.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate for a second here. The Ace-Ops were not being overly aggressive, they were not doing a "stop and frisk", they were arresting known fugitives. Ruby and crew were in the country illegally, meaning they officially became fugitives the second they entered Atlas airspace and didn't comply with the authorities. On top of that they were in possession of stolen military property and, with the exception of Qrow, had just been doing Huntsman work WITHOUT licenses.

Was it good that RUBY lied? They are doing exactly what they hated Ozpin for and Ironwood has done nothing wrong yet, it just seems hypocritical to me. When ozpin lied it was a good reason he has experience backstabbing and people turning against him for multiple life times so he didn’t know who to trust and team rwby got pissed off because of it and they are doing the exact thing that they hated to ironwood the guy who is right to be scared because of the fall of beacon and the attack on Haven and he is helping the team with weapons and just gave back the lamp to them when he could have just easily kept it. Telling him later on important information like that is just going to hurt worse in the long run

Nah, lying isn't the right call. Ironwood put all his cards on the table. Team Rwby should have as well, and just dealt with whatever issues they were expecting Ironwood to have with it then and there. Prolonging the lie amplifies the issues later on, especially if he finds out about it before they reveal it. They're a bunch of hypocrites.

Ruby lying wouldn’t be as big of an issue if she wasn’t for the fact Ironwood just explained his plan that assumes Salem can die. Like say what you want about the relic, but tell him he’s fighting an immortal. He’d probably think twice about telling the world.

Maybe he wouldn’t tell the rest of the world, but that’s only because Ironwood underestimates the value of people in other Kingdoms. In his mind, Atlas has the best of everything: the best minds, the best tech, the best fighters. So really how much does he expect the other Kingdoms to contribute beyond extra cannon fodder to throw at Salem? He is only after the world’s collective strength, and “there will be no victory in strength.” That said, I wouldn’t dare underestimate what other people can contribute in times of need so I actually think uniting the world was one of Ironwood’s better ideas even if his logic and motives for doing so was flawed. Oz had the information about Salem for countless lifetimes and never got anywhere with it on his own, it was long past time to bring new perspectives into the problem.
