At the very end RWBY+J arrived at Vacuo. What you are seeing in the sky is airships from Atlas, Vale, and Mistral - as well as Amity Arena. This scene also represents one final piece to Ruby’s character development - Ruby had convinced herself that her short message to Remnant changed nothing… when in fact it actually changed everything. Remnant is now fighting Salem together.

Also the cats fate and backstory is the most tragic yet in all of RWBY, he spent millenia mending broken hearts and offering second chances but had no one to heal his and the one group of people that could have helped him turned on him(with decent cause) and after beating him were going to leave him to suffer in his everlasting curiosity, meaning in a way Neo technically gave him a mercy killing, at least his suffering is over.

Something incredibly adorable about Somewhat, they based their appearance off of Ruby. The tuft of hair, the cape, the fingerless gloves, the belt. They really went up to the Blacksmith and said that in their next life they wanted to be Ruby.

When the cat killed Alyx she decided to move on to the Afterlife instead of ascending leaving behind her dagger to give back jaunes time as her final wish

Shade Academy in Vacuo, with Atlesian airships, Vale airships, Mistral airships, and Amity battle station. Ruby's risk didn't save Atlas, because loss of global communications prevented that, but the warning made with Penny's help did bring the kingdoms together. More good than harm I would say. She was always enough. She just placed a ridiculously overbearing burden on herself, and I think she realized that.

That's incredibly reductive. It wouldn't have had the same impact if she'd heard it earlier in the volume, as she needed to come to the conclusion on her own; that line was simply the final piece she needed.

The Cat is Salem. Not literally, but symbolically. One act of cruelty leading them down a path of spite, with the way to move on deliberately denied to them - the Brothers wanted the Cat to do their job for them, so of course they barred it from picking a new purpose, that would mean they'd have to work. Really, it just shows that the Gods are dicks, and that the balance they care so much about is a false dichotomy they made up. The real god of RWBY is the Blacksmith, and she's *kind* above all. I don't know if Salem is as far gone as the Cat is, that there's no way to bring her back, but the parallel is pretty clear.

Late reply, but the way the tree talks about balance "It requires love, and patience to see things through", quite different from what the brother gods seemingly think balance is, which also reflects their actions regarding Salem.

Tai was reading to Ruby at the end of Fairytales, and he got choked up because he was reading Silver Eyed Warrior to her. Edit; oh, and they are looking at Vacuo. The important thing is that ships from EVERY nation are floating above it, including Amity. Ruby’s warning to Remnant was heard.

One of the things I most enjoy about the part of the fight where it’s just Ruby and the Cat is that they display Ruby learning from past events. A couple of times in previous volumes, she got grabbed by her weapon or cloak and swung around, but here she uses her semblance to break the grab. In the past, when she fought while in high emotional states, Ruby would get reckless, but here she actually uses her anger at the Cat to keep a laser focus.

When Little/Somewhat says "It'll be alright, Huntress" - Back when The Cat was showing them around The Market, he was explaining ascension and how The King became The Prince. He said something along the lines of "While The Prince may have forgotten Alyx's Betrayal, The Heart very rarely forgets.". I assume that any person/place/thing that meant a significant amount to the previous life of an Afterin would probably be somehow imprinted upon the new one. I kinda hope that's the case between Jaune and The Paper Pleasers / Genial Gems >< I'd also like to believe that there now exists a new Fairy Tale involving Somewhat and Juniper

There’s a very neat theory that this meeting between Summer and Raven connects to Yang’s and Raven’s encounter at the end of Vol 5, when Yang was ripping Raven a new one when all Raven could do was offer lame excuses about “having to do what needed to be done”. And that theory is… when Salem turned Summer into a monster, Raven was the one that had to kill her.

Dr Strange went through multiple possibilities and arrived at only one option that led the Marvel heroes to victory over Thanos. The Crown of Choice shows the possibilities of action for the wearer. I think Summer used the Crown relic to find out she had only one option to "?defeat?" Salem. I also think Summer, Raven, and Leo Lionheart used the first question of the Relic of Knowledge - which freaked out Leo, and caused Raven to become disilliusioned. Two more relics and one Maiden to find, so lots more future developments - obviously I suspect Ruby plays an ultimate role. (And I wonder if Salem needs to have a vacation in Everafter and a makeover)

Ruby's comment last episode to the blacksmith "i didn't expect to be here" strongly suggests that yes Ruby did think she was "ending it all" when she drank the tea. But yes everyone else had come or very shortly after came to realize she wasn't necessarily dead.

No one has pointed out the fact that, essentially, Team RWBY and Jaune met God. The Blacksmith is the Tree's avatar, and the Tree created the Brothers... Meaning the Tree is basically God.

Theres something i realized just recently when rewatching this episode... Remember how Raven's semblance works... She has a portal that goes to Tai, to Yang.... and to Qrow. She and Summer left through a portal she created while Tai was in the house with Yang. Qrow knows what happened to Summer, or at least knows something about how she disappeared. Just a thought.

Summer's fate has always been a complete mystery. There has been some speculation, but that was always just that. They gave us a hint in volume 7 that she faced Salem at some point and that's possibly how she died. But now they gave us a lot more to pounder. I do hope that after teasing us so much with clues, they will end up telling us the whole story, cause otherwise that's just mean right? Whatever she was doing, it seemed important enough that she was willing to leave her family behind. Could it somehow be a clue to defeating Salem? Whatever happened, could that be what changed Raven to the spiteful, selfish person that we have seen in volume 5?

Pretty sure the "when" implies volume 10 will begin with a time skip (ahead). Over Vacuo, we saw Amity and ships from several nations, so it seems like enough time has passed for everyone to have settled into Vacuo and stand watch. So they've likely been jumped forward to just before Salem's next big attack. (Though if the pacing keeps the same, volume 10 will mostly be setup with the big attack in volume 11.)

Didnt jaune say that juniper was the one that saved jaune after the poison by getting the paper pleasers or taking him to them? But juniper wasnt part of the story before that, that we saw, so.. Did alyx really die die or ascend? And if she did ascend and become juniper itd had to have been quickly to get to jaune and save him right? I dont think shes the blacksmith, blacksmith knows too much about ver afters origins and the "gods" origin for that matter. So do yall think itd be easier to get the "gods" to ascend or to make salem ascend?

I think they went forward just enough for help to arrive in Vacuo (hence the ships) so that next season isn't spent waiting for reinforcements. I agree with Mel and Omegashark that it's probably not longer than a few weeks. If you're just asking whether the Tree had the _ability_ to send them backwards in time...maybe? It'd probably be a bad idea though. For one, how would they get back to their present time afterwards?
