Great now I feel even worse for Oz. I can’t blame him for hiding so much from others, no matter how long he’s known them. He really can’t be blamed for the trust issues he has, no matter how much people want to paint him as a villain. He’s doing his best with the little trust he has left in people.

Painted Daisy The funny thing is. There’s a character who is everything people claim Ozpin is, and he’s the one fans defend so much... That’s how he runs Atlas academy, is willing to pull shady actions and throw away people’s lives as a ‘sacrifice?’ “Few city blocks” Is just like Salem in a lot of ways? Oscar explicitly points out how he’s just as dangerous now

Oz have had trust issues ever since his second life. So he has pretty much always had trust issues so saying that it’s something new(ish) is kinda BS. I mean he hide the truth from the love of his life the woman that he returned from the dead for Christ sake🙄

@@didsva he hid the truth in the beginning but then he told her the whole truth afterwards because he wanted to trust her and what did she do in return? Disregarded everything he said and instead said that they could become the new gods of this world and destroy those of which whom would deny them, effectively choosing her own selfish motives over humanity’s and then she killed him when he wanted to leave when he realized she was beyond reason and tried to take his daughters somewhere safe. He told the truth once and it got him killed. So he keeps everyone at arms lengths not only because he doesn’t give out his trust so easily but because he’s been betrayed before, by Salem and by others that were suppose to be his friends. Not only that but it’s also because he’s believe it’s better to keep people a certain distance away from him cause whenever someone does try to breech his walls they either get hurt or worse. The infinite man is a perfect way to show all this. It’s literally Oz telling us that he’s just this guy with severe PTSD, trust issues and is just a mess of guilt.

@@TheAngelofFate17 Well yeah he told her after several years when they already had give birth to a large family. And Salem did get so angry because the man she trusted the most and had even started a family with was lying with working for the old gods. You know the same gods who did commit a big genocide just to teach her a lesson. Which caused her to be alone for thousands of years. Humans are social creatures so what do you think thousands of years in isolation would do to someone's psyche? Also yeah Ozma did try to disappear with his daughter, instead of you know try to be a loving and understanding partner. So I think that it was a pretty stupid and selfish decision of Ozma to instead try to flee from his responsibilities. Because when he bought his daughter it made Salem go into a mindless furry. Because she didn't wanna be left alone again that could have given her PTSD thinking about that. Which made her attack Ozma then seeing how her fight killed her own family she did fully succumb to her Grimm part. Which did affect her mentally which she most likely have tried to keep under control when she was with her family.
@TheAngelofFate172 жыл бұрын
@@didsva he didn’t flee from his responsibilities, he ran because he wanted to get his daughters somewhere safe and he believed Salem was beyond reasoning. It’s fine if you think Ozma is a flawed character cause he’s meant to be flawed seeing as he’s human but Salem made her own choices. Oz makes mistakes, grows and changed meanwhile Salem stays exactly the same cause she doesn’t want to change. She was gone even before her and Ozma met and had their daughters. “The hearts of man are easily swayed” Salem at her core was always like this, her selfishness was buried there even before she lost Ozma, throwing herself into the pool of Darkness didn’t corrupt her, it brought out the personality she already had, the one Oz never saw until it was too late. Even when he was Ozma is canon that he fought for justice and kindness. At Oz’s core center he is a good person, and at Salem’s core she is not. She’s the villain for a reason and sometimes those reasons don’t always have to be excused.

Oz truly cannot die in blissful ignorance nor with hope in his heart... because he'll always come back to see the true outcome of his actions. Course people will make the excuse “you should just open up and let people in, you can trust me”, but when you have heard that very same line from people before and it never turns out good you tend to not believe anyone anymore.

It is a raw deal for Ozpin, but it's a raw deal for those who feel betrayed by his reluctance to fully trust them as well. From the perspective of those people, they're risking their lives for what they believe Ozpin stands for, only to find that he won't trust them with the full story. We've gotten that perspective from people like Raven, and more recently Ruby and Yang. Here, we get a lot more insight into Ozpin's perspective to understand its validity in a way that we haven't fully been able to see in the show. There isn't any clear right or wrong here; both Ozpin and those who have fought for him have valid reasons for feeling the way that they do, and they will need to reconcile those perspectives.

Giving them just little details is enough in his opinion or else there could be another Lionheart, a Raven or, well, Ironwood for that matter. He has been through a lot, and yet he still has the willpower to keep on going. The God of Light has certainly picked the right person for the job.
@Wolfeson284 жыл бұрын
Oddly enough, Ozpin himself would probably disagree that the God of Light chose the right person, but in a way that's the surest proof that he is the right person (if there is such a thing). It's similar to in Lord of the Rings, when Gandalf initially doesn't want to go to Middle Earth as one of the five Istari because he's afraid of Sauron. In response, Manwe (sort of Middle Earth's version of Zeus) says that is all the more reason why Gandalf must go, and why he's one of the right people to be chosen. In the end, Gandalf is the only one of the Istari who stays true to their mission of helping the people of Middle Earth oppose Sauron, in part because his fear and humility allow him to empathize with the peoples of Middle Earth in a way that the others can't.

I can see the bind Ozma was in. If he ended up winning and killing his opponent, he would have betrayed his own ideals in front of his followers and thus the circle would have been shattered. But, if he lost and decided to die as he did he ended up putting too much trust in the good of others and when the bandits started killing and looting and burning as if their leader had never fought Ozma the circle was shattered. He was stuck between two equally terrible choices and personally I think he chose the best one. I think the reason Ozpin's huntmen a number of which is now fighting his war is because he chose to die and hold to his belief that people can be inherently good. They can work together and come up with plans to protect the world from harm even if the common man does not trust their protectors;even if they do not appreciate what the huntsmen do and why Ozpin makes teamwork an essential part of these protectors training, it is ultimately his belief in mankind that will deliver the ultimate victory. Ultimately the suffering he went through will end because he never lost sight of what kept him human.

This fairy tale is exactly why I believe Ozpin is not evil like people think he is. He has to walk such a fine line between believing in the good of humanity and protecting the people while also knowing that if he gets too comfortable he will be betrayed by the people he believes in and wishes to defend. He really is doing his best to help the people of Remnant.
@Wolfeson284 жыл бұрын
In many ways, the Circle is the first attempt (that we know of) at starting something like a huntsman academy. Clearly Ozpin recognized how much good they accomplished, and the need to train people for the role that current Remnant would call a Huntsman or Huntress, and it's interesting to compare this to how Ozpin started up the current academies. In this story, Ozpin refused to unleash his full power, and trusted the word of others that they would leave his students alone after defeating him. Clearly, he learned not to make that mistake again, since as the Warrior King of Vale, he did unleash his full power (including at least two relics) to end the Great War and ensure the beginning of a new order. He still refused to take supreme power over the entire world, but he did use the opportunity to direct the formation of the four current academies, and that lingering memory of his power ensured that the new academy system would not be challenged before it was firmly entrenched. Once he died and later reincarnated as the Ozpin we knew, he continued to be a major part of the academy system, but only ever revealed his true identity to a select few, so that he could hopefully avoid putting the same target on his back and his students' backs that he did in the story.

I also think anyone that wanna respond to this by saying that they would still believe in the good in humanity and trust people if they were in ozpin shoes is either lying or trying to fool themselves into believing that. I guess the only reason why why ozpin have any faith in human is because he met people like crow that show him human can change from a dark path and Ruby that show he not the only one that is purely good.

But now this fairytale tells us that the person who started training people to fight back against the Grimm(Using Semblance & Aura )was Ozma or Salem(since she trained that warrior to kill him and destroy the circle).

@@hyde6859 well he never said what the eye color of the fighter that killed Oz had. Plus This was before huntmans. And remember the silver eye warriors had to most likely be trained before fighting some of the tougher grimm.

I think all of this is way earlier in history than Hazel and his sister. I could be wrong though, but this sounds like pre-great war Ozpin. I don't know how far before, but maybe even before he got his cane, which was implied to be early on. I suspect that he had a few unshown reincarnations before the cane, since he could have spent lifetimes thinking of the perfect weapon. One non deadly, with secrets. Or do you mean any of the stories in general? Maybe one of the next Phoenix tells us about will have Hazel's sister. We would have to wait to find out.
