She was too emotionally broken to pursue him, but I doubt she would have just let herself die. And I doubt she'd have had much trouble escaping. She'd literally just have to speed boost straight forward and she'd be in plain daylight. Mercury couldn't exactly kill her in public like that, particularly since he's supposed to be nursing a demolished leg at this point.

The worst thing about this is that anyone in the crowd could use their semblance on anyone in the arena and no one would be able to stop them. This just screams unprofessional-ism and makes the whole of volume 3 possible because of Emerald's semblance being able to affect anyone at anytime with no problem.

A lot of dumb semblances that make little to no sense or just do what the plot needs them to do. A good example is Neo's. Which lets her do whatever the hell the plot needs her to do. It's why I feel she's more a plot device then a character. As for Emerald, she should not have been "redeemed" or at least that quickly.

problem is, she's not just data. She "has a soul". Whatever brilliant complicated tech that gave her an aura throughout her entire body may make her more vulnerable that a typical computer. She may have a heart equivalent to generate the soul/aura energy which needs to stay active. Perhaps she'll be revived, but not really the same person, more of a daughter of Penny.

Junior Mors AI will, regardless of method or creating an artificial aura and what not, be software based. Software, as long as the hard drive or other format it is stored on isn't damaged beyond repair! Can be recovered from its last running state. You don't know if she has a soul, she could just be able to replicate the affects of an aura. And in the end, why would your "soul" be stored in your body alone, it would be who you are and your mind, an AI's mind is transferable, therefore as long as they put all the gizmo's in as it was they should be able to flash the Penny operating system onto a new body.
