One of my favorite things about this show and other RT productions is that they have very few dedicated voice actors and just get people from around the office to voice. Ruby, Sun and Professor Port are voiced by people from their gaming channel, Yang's VA handles the company's social media and community, Jaune and Neptune are voiced by the head writers, and Weiss is even voiced by their old receptionist. I think the cast being comprised of mostly non-professionals really gives the show a unique feel.

Yeah, the shadow people were only there because of their lack of budget and their team size, since Vol 1 did so well they now had a bigger team and budget to make the show bigger and more detailed. Also Monty died in February of 2015 and Vol 2 came out in 2014. Weiss' semblance is her glyphs but the elemental things she does with ice and such is due to the sword, since they contain different types of dust in the cylinder.

Nah, Monty still was alive at this point. He died after the end of Volume 2 midway into producing Volume 3. I still love it how the authors kind of make meta-fun out of the town looking somewhat dull in the last storyline of Volume 1, where we barely see any buildings(and most of them were in poor quality textures) and barely any people, shadow or not. Now it looks like an actual city. And then we proceed to beautifully choreographed comedy fight which is basically animators showing off. Its kind of hilarious that we go from Ruby referencing Marthin Luther King and Richard Nixon's most famous phrases(and of course nobody gets it since these people never existed in Remnant), only to go to doing a homage to Crisis of Infinite Earth's cover with Weiss and Ruby as Superman and Supergirl. Ruby's semblance was kind of stated by Pyrrha during the whole thing with Jaune in the forest. Pyrrha stated that Weiss' thing is her magic glyphs and Ruby's - her speed. Sure Weiss is fast, but its only natural since she is using a rapier which is all about fast strikes, its not what makes her special. As for Ruby's semblance, we sort-of saw it in action in her trailer where near the end she sped up to ridiculous speeds to deal with the hordes of grimm attacking her. Of course this food fight makes it incredibly clear and kind of shows its limitations - Sure Ruby becomes VERY fast, but she does not have as much control over her movement as at normal speed and even stopping takes enough force to shatter a wall behind her. So its good for covering distances and using her weapon, but it would be a weakness in any sort of more complex situations where speed gives no advantage. Have to strongly agree on the fight showing the characters weaknesses and strengths. A lot of people focus on how funny it is and miss how in character the fighting was: - Yang is great at close range, but is the most straight forward fighter out of team rwby, So someone like Pyrrha easily outmatches her because she is good fighting with a weapon and a weapon that can be used at range. And of course if someone has a better range weapon, like Norra, they can easily avoid her attacks and she can't. - Weiss is all about precision and tactics, yet is kind of a glass cannon. So while she is good for controlling a situation and delivering deadly strikes, one or two hits and she is out. - Blake is both mid range and close range fighter, who is more about getting hits in and dodging out of the way. When dealing with a lot of attacks coming your way like with Pyrrha throwing cans at her, dodging becomes useless. - And Ruby is all about speed and more inventive fighting, using her strengths to her advantage. So yeah, we are introduced to the two characters briefly shown at the after-credits of the end of Volume One. First of all we have *Emerald*, our little diamond in the rough A person of color and a thief, with a gem theme to her name, she is jokingly refered to as "street rat" by Torchwick and if we sum all of those bits up, we can easily deduce that Emerald is based upon *Aladdin*. *Mercury* on other hand is even easier to figure out, since his name is that of roman god *Mercury*(also known as greek god *Hermes*), the "messenger' and the tricksters who in legends uses his wits and charm to outwit others solely for his own amusement. We also get the mysterious female villain's name for the first time in the show and its *Cinder*. That paired up with her very glass-sounding shoes, makes her identity very clear as *Cinderella*. P.S. No more 4 minute length episodes for this show. YAAAY. Indeed best day ever :p

MaulMachine Err no. Emerald's design is inspired by that of Cleopatra, but she is 110% surely Aladdin in terms of a tale inspiration. Literally every single reference to her is to that of Aladdin. And to your spoiler part - not here is not.

Unfortunately the shadow people are gone for good. Fortunately, they have enough of a budget now that shadow people are no longer neccesary. Which is fortunate, because especially by Volume 3, they NEED to not have shadow people. Plenty of somewhat important crowds in Volume 3.

Hey, Monty passed away after Volume 2 had finished, so this is all still his work until Volume 3, but you should know he had it planned for like 10 volumes, so even though from Volume 3 onwards the animation itself isn't Monty, the storyline is still Monty for a long time :) it's great to know his story is still being told after he's gone.

Hey there, new to your reactions. I love watching reaction videos to one of my favorite series and I just bumped into your content, and I am enjoying it so far! You may cover some of this already in a later video, this is just where I am at the moment and thought I would leave feedback as I go anyway! I think you may have been getting the "Stop talking during the video!" feedback simply because as a person who has watched the full series many times, we know when important things are happening that people wouldn't normally catch if they aren't paying complete attention. So when you talk over a bit of dialogue that may be SUPER important later in the series, we fear that you may be confused or lost when that time comes around. Monty actually passed away after volume 2, before volume 3. Im sure many people have corrected you there but still, thought I would share in case not. (Rest in peace, buddy.) I liked your thoughts on the food fight and comparing the strengths of each of the characters when they were going all out with non-lethal weapons. Interesting thought that I havent heard many people talk about! Also, there are not many people that actually liked the shadowpeople.. Most people consider it lazy or sloppy, but it was interesting to hear it was something you liked. I hope the background characters have at least grown on you by now! Great videos, and I will continue to watch!

Honestly i also liked the black characters because i only started watching october last year and thought this was an intentional choice to make the background characters this way. Torchwoodboy...just a heads up...some youtubers got strikes on the rwby reaction videos, one of them is the black critic guy...he was extra carefull with those strikes but he still got them so watch yourself

For RWBY its overall quite rare thing to happen and usually has to do with content-id catching parts of the opening songs(for whatever reason) Rooster Teeth is supportive of reactions(they even did a reaction to one guy's reaction to volume 3 episode) and they usually resolve it fast.
