Not sure if anybody caught that, but it's so nice how the knight fades away when they hug. The knight is basically her only companion and when it's out it's a symbol of conflict meaning it's only out when she doesn't feel safe. When she hugs Yang and she hugs her back, she feels safe for the first time in a while and instead of disappearing it gently melts away. Weiss has truly became one of the most complex and overall best characters of the series. Think about how she was in S1, if you'd have said to me she will hug somebody non comically but out of love (not romantic of course, but the theme that plays, home, speaks volumes), I'd have said you are lying, but here we are.

People always say that Ruby has no personality; that she's just the protagonist character and that it. That couldn't be further from the truth in my eyes. She's awkward, she's got a little of a tomboy flare, she's empathetic, consistently supportive and protective of the people she cares about, she cares more about propping people up than putting them down, she's an optimist where people NEED optimism, she has a strong sense of right and wrong, and she's very determined and self-determinate. She keeps people focused and moving forward along with her. I don't think I've ever seen Ruby really have a moment where she was so overcome with doubt and negativity that she DIDN'T have the determination to move forward. She's trying. She's the kind of protagonist I think a lot of people don't like because they see these kinds of people as boring and one-dimensional. But I think this was NECESSARY for a setting and story like RWBY. Ruby is a genuinely GOOD person with few skeletons in her closet, and yes, some people really are like that in the real world. And you never know how precious those people are until you're neck-deep in shit-creek and they're the only person reaching out their hand to you.

Only characters up to volume 2 have a confirmed height. Ruby is one of the shortest characters at 5'2". Oscar is slightly shorter than her at I'd guess 5'0". Jaune is 6'1", Ren is 5'9" and Nora is 5'1". The tallest character we have a height for is Yatsuhashi at 7'0' but I wouldn't be surprised if Ghira or Hazel is taller.

I think Raven doesn't trust Ozpin because she thinks that trying to fight Salam is futile and motivating people to help him stop her will only get them killed. That might explain why she's a bandit, cause the 4 kingdoms/academies are targeted by Salam and trying to build life there will end up being a mistake. Just like she said in volume 4: *I told you Beacon would fall, and it did. I told you Ozpin would fail, and he has.* But Ozpin seems to be doing everything he can to protect humanity. He was cursed for failing to stop Salam. It's really hard to draw out any selfish goals from that, unless it's all a lie.

Yesika Narvaez I think the best outcome from Raven’s mindset (at least for us & say okay that’s fair) is “the best way to beat Salem is simply keep her away from the Relics, by keeping either the maidens that turn evil or whatever away, or the relic tied to said maiden”... not tied to a kingdom that’ll eventually fall (which one did proving her right in that regard) & just work with a small group that doesn’t mind dirty dead’s, keeping it simple & not such a big target, there’s a theory that all of the Broadwin’s can turn into birds & scatter into the wind... & towards Oz she sees him as “Must defeat Salem at all costs”.... anyways, let’s just keep watching & see her side of the story when she tells Yang “the truth”, likely next week. *sigh* Is that a fair enough speculation until we see more?

Blake Jones I've only listened to sacrifice once a long time ago so I don't remember the lyrics. I see what you mean with what the song implies. But I wouldn't say Ozpin doesn't care about the people that die because of him. I mean, he has said that he's made more mistakes than anyone. And sacrificing people might be a little twist in context that Raven sees in that way, cause I remember what Tai said to Yang: *You both think the only way past an obstacle us through it. But if you take a second look, you'll see there's a way around it.* Maybe that also implies how Raven is less understand of other people's ways. Kinda how Yang was upset about Blake running away. Ruby said there had to be a good reason (which it kind of was, protecting her loved ones from Adam), but Yang was probably too hurt to see that. Ozpin risked his life at the fall of Beacon (even though he knew he'd still be around a while longer) so to an extent he's self sacrificing. Pyrrah was also self sacrificing, for the sake of Jaune and others. You can't be a hero and save everyone. Sacrifices will need to be made along the way. But these are all just speculations of the top of my head.

Okay so about that end talking about how maybe Ozpin isn't exactly what he says he is just immediately reminded me of my biggest question since I became a big fan of RWBY, What are the meaning of these lyrics? now its time to say goodbye to the things we loved and the innocence of youth with a doubt in our minds why we chose this life and at times we can't help wondering... were we born to fight and die? sacrificed for one huge lie? are we heroes keeping peace? or are we weapons? pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory? From the OG opening title song, this part has never been seen evident but it has been there since the beginning, we have not seen any of team RWBY questioning what they are fighting for like the song suggests, I think we are now finally starting to see this side of the story.

People have been making this same argument about Bumblebee and White Rose practically since volume 1's conception, of course they're just friends, i'd argue they all are with no sign of attraction or interest in intimacy, but the fandom ship freezerburn has seen the biggest tender moment shared between the two team members as of this episode. Basically anyone who has strayed from white rose or bumblebee has been absolutely shit on and harassed by the majority of the community, even fucking Arryn had to backpedal on her twitter statement about enjoying Black Sun, so why not just enjoy what you see in the show, and let the alternative shippers have their delicious irony based victory yeah?

It clicked. I finally understood the book about the man with 2 souls (Ozpin vs his Hosts) fighting for control as you where talking about Raven’s song towards Ozpin. The Host’s & Ozpin share memories, but the Host (Oscar in this case) has to think about it for the memory to surface; Remember when Ozpin told Oscar to think about the Headmaster’s office & describe it to him? The moment Oscar thinks about whatever it is, those memories of sacrifice will surface & he & Ozpin will be locked into another battle for control, Ozpin’s personality is the one that’s always dominant later down the line, we saw him force himself to the surface without Oscar’s consent to talk to Jaune, anyone could write that off but it’s still a Tell Tale sign. Just some food for thought that I thought I’d share.

Yeah Arnold, your Aura is like a switch. You have to turn it on to use it. That's why I think that Sienna was killed immediately because she hadn't turned on her Aura when Adam stabbed her.

ChainedHunter His semblance (We call it Moonslice) is much like Yangs. He absorbs attacks, and releases all that built up damage in one strike. Yang had been fighting all day, and Adam built up enough power to completely destroy what aura she had left and cut off her arm.

I think the "truth" about Ozpin was what made Raven leave the fight; she thinks the fight against Salem is too big for them to overcome, so she wants to focus on smaller fights like surviving. And by contrast Qrow believes merely surviving isn't enough, and trusts Oz to have a chance of defeating Salem. Because whatever she may say about Ozpin, Salem's plans are much worse for the world. We don't need to know exactly what they are, because what she's after is facilitated by causing suffering and using the Grimm against people. Even if Ozpin's plans turn out to be questionable in their aims, even if is is hiding a true goal underneath this battle, it has to be better than what happened to Beacon because of Salem and Cinder. Which is why I think this is interesting - we're getting a lot of "unreliable exposition" going on through these conversations about what has happened and it does come down to "who do you trust?" and the other question of "what do they have to gain by not telling the whole truth?". And Raven has a lot to gain by painting her position in a certain way . . . especially in front of the bandit tribe, which she was playing for the entire time with loud soapboxing and grand gestures. Raven, for her faults, is a simple person deep down. She wants to keep her tribe safe and secure, but she doesn't care about the cost to outsiders (and anyone not part of that tribe or willing to join up is an outsider). The rest of the world, any bigger plights going on around it, these don't matter if her people aren't safe. She is unwilling to make that sacrifice for others, which doesn't necessarily make her a bad person. Just an opposed one. Which is why I think Vernal is there and willingly with her - she had a destiny, she had a purpose, it was drilled into her and it got to be too much for her to handle. So she ran. And found a much simpler arrangement she could wrap her head around and control instead of a fight so big it has literally seemingly gone on for all of time.

Mhm. Could be, since we don´t really have a lot of Information to go on, but I reckon the truth is something more personal. As an example, maybe Ozpin wanted to sent Raven on a suicide mission, she refused and ran away - then Summer was sent instead and died? And Raven has stated that the weak die and only the strong survive (something like that), I don´t think she cares much about the safety of every member of the tribe but maybe more about its success. She didn´t like being Ozpin´s pawn. And Vernal... well, I don´t know, but she doesn´t strike me as the type of person to run without a proper reason. I feel like there might be more to it than "the responsibility was too much". Leo also mentions that she was very motivated in the beginning of her training. What I find more interesting is that Ozpin has so many enemies, and especially his history with someone like Hazel. Somebody who apparently dislikes violence or killing people. Why would he Support Salem? Maybe what happened between them made him turn against Ozpin? What we´ve seen with Pyrrha, - how Oz would have sacrificed her (even with good intentions) when he tried to fuse Ambers soul with her, shows that he certainly has the resolution to sacrifice people. Who wouldn´t, after having fought the same fight for so long? (What kind of machine fuses souls or auras together anyway? And why does he have it?) His namesake is also important. The wizard of Oz - he lies "for the greater good" ...

Also as far as I know he watches every episode multiple times, this guy catches on to almost everything going on in the episodes. Like in the first episode, he saw the W on Lionheart's desk and immediately made the connection to the tiny W on Cinder's scroll in volume 3, which I imagine lots of people never even saw.

I don't think team RWBY will meet up this volume after chapter 5, no spoilers, but it's clear to me that Yang and Weiss will have a different story. Blake has hers and Team RNJR will most likely stay in Mistrial for the initial attack on Haven. Team RWBY will come together when they need each other.

Supergirl Gamer based on what's been said by the show, there's some sort of rock paper scissors thing going on with these legendary powers. And silver eyes seem to be the rock if the maidens are the scissors. Every powrr has a foil, so that could also mean well soon find out what the foil to silver eyes is if they go that route.

Well That training session for team RNJR was amazing. And Yang did meet up with Weiss. I kinda wish Weiss would have escaped on her own like if she was solid snake or something. But this is good enough. So Raven can teleport. And here I thought it was because of her weapon. She states Ozpin is different from what we see. Maybe this has something to do with Summer Rose and how she died.
