I've seen it pointed out that the leviathan was kind of Cordovin's fault. Grimm are attracted to negative emotion, the larger the emotion the larger the draw. What pulled it in? The citizens of Argus being worried and freaked out about why the mech is active and fighting so close by. Really shows how Cordovin's ego just keeps making things worse.

There is another layer to Blake reaction. Remember all of her story so far, she was born in the white fang, fighting for the rights of the faunus, she saw the battle becoming more violent and decided that it wasn't the response, especially with Adam and the way it was so easy for him to kill in "selfdefense". Now, she killed him in selfdefense. Even if she was forced to do it, there is obviously a part of her that think she fell to his level in that moment. There is of course relief and all you said, but I think there is that too.

Yes, it's ridiculous. I understand wanting Adam to be a mote nuanced character, wanting to see him redeem himself, but that ship sailed a long time ago. Adam was NEVER going to stop. He was defeated, and going for a shard of a weapon to keep going after the writing was on the wall. Blake AND Yang separately warned him, gave him outs, and he refused every time. Putting him down for good would be justified in a court of law, and any would aquit them of wrongdoing. Not every heroic character is Batman. You're allowed to defend yourself to the point of ending your attacker. Losing his sword plainly didn't mean he'd surrendered. He was BARELY slower than Blake to grab that blade, and he would have gutted her just the same.

I don't mind the jealous ex psycho angle with a character but his character doesn't exist in a vaccum, he is supposedly leader of the organisation that's fighting against discrimination who turned to radical ways. So it feels really scummy to see the writers make that specific character turn into this. Because not only Adam's character suffers, Blake and Weiss's too. And even Seinna to some extent. I personally think this was just a way for the creators to write off the white fang plot line because they admitted they were too "white" to write something like this. ( I'm paraphrasing) (And to that I'm like, why not just educate yourself on topics of racism, discrimination, etc.) Which is why Blake's arc also gets sidelined and she never gets to restore the fang. Weiss never gets to see the scar, discover the practices of her company, etc. It's not unreasonable to want Adam be in the Atlas arc, explore the faunus discrimination, the dust mines and the sdc more. Like, have him be just as annoying and unbearable, but atleast not sideline the racism for jealous ex part.
@KdeeBUBBLES4444 ай бұрын
@@dazaiosamu7184 I agree. I remember when the Black trailer came out, i was most excited to see Blake and Adam's future interactions after her "betrayal" (this was before we even knew the show was a school anime, before we knew the whole story about the WF, etc.). So when they met again in V3 it was super disappointing that they basically abandoned the "you betrayed our cause" angle, and while there are still bits of it here and there, it's almost entirely overshadowed by the "jilted ex" spin on their relationship. If they had managed to marry both those aspects of their relationship it could have been super complex and interesting, but either they didn't try at all or they tried and failed because Adam just generally comes across as one dimensional.

Fun Facts Fact 1: The episode is named after the idiom of the same name, meaning "to become very angry because of something which has been said or done." It could also reference Adam Taurus's animal nature, and the common association that bulls dislike the color red and attempt to attack it. Alternately or additionally, it may reference Ruby's red outfit, Adam's red hair, and/or the overall red theme of both characters. Fact 2: Yang catching Adam's sword can be seen as a reference to the scene in Beauty and the Beast where Gaston tries to bludgeon the Beast, but the Beast catches the object Gaston was trying to bludgeon him with. Fact 3: This season had a core fight team that animated all the fights. Fact 4: The way Adam dies is apparently similar to how the death of the machine Adam in Nier: Automata plays out. Kerry had only played an hour of the game at this point so he did not know that was a thing. Fact 5: Nier: Automata was actually referenced for the mech fight (the mechanics of how the fight would work) since a robot was involved in the first boss fight. Fact 6: Some shots from the Adam and Yang fight were similar to those from Naruto, but that was also a coincidence.

What? It was ALWAYS clearly a visual motif of that power that he and Raven can only do it when nobody can directly see them. You wanted some freakish wild-shape werebird transformation? One... it's a free webtoon... Two... it's a sensible thing to do since it's a magical transformation. Why are you framing it like its an error or something? It's plainly deliberate. This is the shit I hate about RWBY criticism. People stop touching on REAL flaws and imperfections and attack things that are literally not a problem unless you're mad they didn't do things specifically how YOU'D have done it.

@@JJMDude First of all, I *still* like RWBY, but pointing out some of the goofier workarounds they had to do doesn't mean I'm attacking it. There were almost certainly more subtle ways they could have gone about hiding the transformation, such as when Raven flew behind a tree. I don't believe there is any indication that he needs to be out of sight in order to transform, merely that the production crew chooses to keep it from the audience. For example, earlier in the fight when they all split off to confuse Cordovan, he flies out from behind the same rock as everyone else. He was almost certainly within view of the rest of the party when he transformed that time, but was only hidden from the *audience*.

@Mirality6 ай бұрын
His psychology got spelled out pretty clearly throughout the course of the show and the Adam character short. He was a faunus in the Atlas mines who suffered abuse at the hands of the SDC. He reacted to that abuse by becoming an abuser himself, at first "freedom fighting" for a noble cause but quickly descending into "screw everyone else, I'm only looking out for me because I'm owed something by the world" -- as Blake put it, "the embodiment of spite". And unfortunately Sienna encouraged that behaviour at a crucial tipping point where he might have gone the other way. These things don't excuse his behaviour -- he's definitely a piece of crap for the entire show -- but they do explain it.

0:59 Although you are correct, there are some people out there that say he is a good villain and that defend him. One thing all his fans have in common is that they're the same type of bad person that he is. I'm sure there's probably an exception to that somewhere... I just haven't seen it.

Hey man we all agree that racism is a good thing and should be encoraged. Well anyway anyone who actually likes RWBY must be a morally bad person because the show is bad. Good logic right here.

Honestly it's for the best for Adam to die at this point in the show 😢. They turned him into a abusive ex trope from what could have been a good story about a morally grey character fighting for what he believed
@OnyxheartWolf6 ай бұрын
*turned him* he was always meant to go this route x3 he was willing to kill innocent civilians all the way back in the Black trailer my dude, he was never morally grey, he's been the abusive ex since vol 3 and was the reason Blake ran away in the trailer
@pumpkinwarrior71386 ай бұрын
he was never going to be that character They didn’t even have Blake get an apology from Weiss for her racism why on earth would you think this show would make Adam complex and gray if they couldn’t even handle violent protest in v1 with tact

11:03 Look. I hate Adam as much as any rational person does but thinking that anything he does is out of a desire to be "The Hero" or "The Good Guy" is just plain wrong. He is just a victim who wants revenge so that he won't have to stay the victim. He's seen and lived Faunus abuse at it's worst (the initials for the Schnee Dust Company was not burned into his face by accident) and is fighting to get revenge on the species who wronged him. There's no illusion in him that he is the Hero of the Faunus, he might talk a big game but he just wants the metaphorical scales of Faunus dead by Human hands and Humans dead by Faunus hands to be more evenly balanced. Him chasing after Blake is not because he's some Incel who thinks he deserves her love or wants her back. He wants her *dead* because she betrayed him and "their people" to go gallivanting around helping their oppressors after she promised she would be by his side through everything. It's just another case of a victim who wants revenge on the ones who victimized him. it just upsets me when people boil him down to an Incel who thinks he deserves the woman. At least hate him for the right reasons, he's just a scared monster made by cruel people who needs to be put down.

I know people don't like Adam, heck I'm one of them after these past two vol. but I didn't wish death on him, I wanted him to have redemption bit not that kind of thinking in my opinion is just wicked.

if I may make a constructive criticism, the music overpowers the dialouge(spelling?) in the videos. It was realy bad in your last video, and while its not quite as bad here, it's still pretty noticable. Not sure what changed, but it never used to be an issue before.

It’s been two years since v3 and Adam has lost a lot of his confidence But I really do think Yang’s training is the most important because she didn’t even fight Adam last time, she didn’t think and just left herself open Here her whole fighting style has changed
