[Spoilers for Volume 8 Chapter 5 for those who haven't seen it yet.] I like how Neo answered Maria's question of "What do you want?" by turning into Ruby. I saw a lot of people confused about that. This is also the first time (i think) she has fought someone experienced enough to not just blindly attack into her, and instead reacting to her attacks. It would've also helped her to know she was fighting a living legend instead of a defenseless old lady. Ironwood seems close to losing it, i think there isn't much left until Marrow secedes. He was sort of smiling at Ruby's announcement and then Elm looked at him like he's sus in Among Us lol.

Neo is, i think, to betray Cinder at some point- i think signs are more pointing towards Cinder Fall dying than Neo, and i hope its Neo who gets her, revenges Torchwick and becomes the Fall Maiden (possibly taking Cinder's place with Salem's full approval). But even if that doesn't happen, Neo ain't dying, it doesn't do anything except break the hearts of everyone who loves her and we really don't need to hate Cinder or Tyrian even more than we already do. Plus Tyrian said the Doc was a sacrifice and he's (probably?) fine. As for her loss, she was facing the Grimm Reaper. I'm fairly proud that i saw Maria putting up a fight coming. Crow simps for her and acts like the Grimm Reaper was untouchable (Quote: "i wanted to be as strong as the Grimm Reaper"), he's even with Raven (according to Lionheart) and Raven was enough to send Neo running. So Grimm Reaper >>>> Crow, Raven >>>> Neo is canon. Of course she's old now but there's such a gap that Maria at 20% of her young self could still be able to hold off Neo, didn't think she'd get kicked in the face though lol

They would not be calm as is, finding out said immortal is already attacking a nation with an army of Grimm? Nope, definitely not calm nor up in arms for a fight considering it’s Atlas, the Kingdom that other kingdoms had stressed times with since the fall of Beacon. I guarantee the kingdoms are trying to calm their people as is. Never mind the bombshell of maidens and magical relics are a known thing to everyone now! Shade might be in a tight spot with god knows how many people wanting to know about the relic they’re guarding. If they find out what the sword of destruction can do, I can see a bunch of greedy assholes fighting to get it and the Summer Maiden. Realistically, I can only see this dividing people more in panic, chaos, and desperation for survival. I don’t think help is coming and if you recall Salem smiling at the message Ruby sent... You can tell she isn’t worried either.

This may sound cruel, but I agree. Ruby needs to learn that her views of humanity and faunus everywhere working together and handling news THIS big is being too optimistic. I mean you told the entire world they have an immortal enemy who controls the Grimm and has an army of them attacking one of the most militaristic kingdom's right now? They aren't going to join arms and drop personal grudges. People will panic, riots will take place, defenses will be stretched thin as all huntsmen and huntresses are scrambling to keep order, some people might off themselves, and answers will be demanded of said academy headmasters of what the hell they had been hiding. Ruby needs to learn that people as a whole are wild, panicky, dangerous animals and secrets are kept for a freaking reason! That humanity rarely works together unless they are quite literally pressed against a wall and even then it's usually reluctant at first.

Guys... she's holding up Atlas - the name of the Titan who held up the sky. By keeping it aloft, he prevented humanity from being crushed between Gaia and Ouranos - the earth and the sky who were in love. The only other person from Greek mythology who took his place -even for a few moments - was Hercules. Penny IS Atlas. The weight of Atlas is on her shoulders and the fate of the world, for a few moments, was due to her holding it up in the sky. Symbolism is key, but also a message of what each moment really represents.

Taylor and Jessica do some of the best non-word voice work in the series. The screaming and grunting when their characters grappled each other is very raw and brutal sounding. In the last season they both did very believable pained screams too.
