I think I'll just stick to watching the early Volumes and pretending the whole thing stopped after Volume 3-4 ish. It's been fun, but this is the end of the road for me. Hot Take: The Yang falling scene would've hit much harder if it was at the end of the episode instead of the middle. Like, it felt really strange to have her fall and then the episode continued to progress. The emotion from the scene just got taken away by having it be in the middle. They really should've had Yang fall and then roll credits

I think they should have had the stuff with RWBY and Cinder and Neo apart from everything else. Yang could still fall in the middle, but the rest of the episode would be dedicated to RWB's reactions and resulting fight against Cinder and Neo. No cutting away to other plot lines

Like it pains me to see them treat their arguably best character in such a way. Like even in fights, why hasn't she been using time dilation? Blake took out several rockets with that and she's not even the damn dps or defense of the team. They could've easily beaten cinder if the writers didn't replace weiss' brain with a rock.

I got an idea from that neo suggestion! Since Ruby is our protagonist, she should fall first. So what if, Neo pretended to be Yang and fell, then Ruby saves her. They get to safety and Ruby hug Yang, crying. "I nearly lost you!" Then, in the distance, you can hear Yang screaming Ruby's name in desperation. Ruby looks over Neo's shoulder and sees the team running at her but getting thrown off by Cinder or something. Then, Ruby goes to look at Neo's eyes, seeing the difference colours. Then we see Ruby's aura shatter. We pan out, seeing Neo had stabbed Ruby in the side (like actually stabbed here, like there's blood.) Then Neo pushes her off the side, smirk on here face. Then later, when Neo needs to fall, Cinder gets all pissy Neo killed Ruby instead of letting Cinder do it, so she pushes Neo over in a fit of rage. Sorry that was so long, I just have a LOT of ideas on how to fix these last few episode-

1.) Yang knew the moon slice was coming and could brace for it. She had less than a second to notice Neo. 2.) Neo is actually pretty strong, no idea where you got the idea that she's not, considering she's one of the best fighters in the series. 3.) Neo's strike was meant to kill Ruby or at least break her aura.

@@SuperBrunout Yang had more time to guard against Adam than to react to a sneak attack. Her turning on her semblance actually does use a bit of aura since she does need to use it sparing it. Every time we've seen her use it in recent volumes, it's been quick and usually takes of a bit of aura - which would make Neo's strike more effective at breaking it. Finally, we've never actually seen Neo land a hit with her blade. It's been physical counters and the main body of the cane, so you actually don't know how strong a slice would be in comparison to moon slice.

If the main girls actually got the bulk of the screentime this episode, they could've done so much to solidify the bond between all the girls. Yang's "death" could have resulted in all 3 of them becoming enraged and putting their all into fighting Cinder and Neo. At least Ruby seemed *kinda* sad. Weiss seemed very "Oh no, my friend's girlfriend I just met is dead" which is just......why? We've seem them care about each other so like... I have to wonder sometimes if Kara was sick or something during the majority of the recording process and that's why Weiss is so under utilized this volume because I can't recall her ever being quite so sidelined.

I'm confused about the fact that Yang fell in the first place. Like isn't her semblance Burn supposed to make her stronger upon taking hits? With someone like Adam I can understand since he used Moonslice and that was very powerful, but I can't imagine something like Neo's weapon breaking her out her aura/semblance and rendering her unconscious. On top of that, under the assumption Yang was conscious, she could've used her gauntlets to propel her to safety. She's done it before.

I mean i defiently think ruby being the only one to never sustain injury is weird, but ruby falling would have needed more buildup to break her aura, because with her aura she could just use her semblance. of course that doesn't explain why yang didn't just launch herself back onto the platform with her gauntlets. there were so many ways they could have done that scene, but due to the shipping they had to have the character least capable of rescuing yang being the only one to even try, ruby or weiss could have easily saved yang.

This volume proves that the writers have no clue what they're doing and after all these years, it's safe to conclude that they don't want to be bothered to improve. The show will always be this bad. This is the first time I'm considering dropping RWBY entirely.

I don't understand why Yang didn't shoot Neo with a bullet. Like why run over to protect your sister only to get hit when you can just do a long ranged attack? Sure there's the possibility of Neo just shattering into glass as a result, but I feel like because she's so hyper-focused on killing Ruby for revenge, she wouldn't necessarily think of a bullet hitting her. Also, when Yang fell, why was Blake the only one to react? Why didn't Ruby use silver eyes like she'd done in volume 5 when she almost saw jaune die against Cinder? Or why didn't Weiss use a glyph to catch her, why didn't Penny (you know one of the characters who can fly) swoop down to catch her? But ooh, ya know Cinder could've used Yang as a hostage to exchange for the staff! Like she could've stretched her Grimm arm to grab yang and hold a blade to her throat! She could've literally had Neo sneak through the crowd, slash yang to knock her off, cinder then appears to grab her and then flies high into the sky before threatening her death if she doesn't get the relic. I'm not against LGBTQ+ relationships or characters in any way, but all they did was give bedroom eyes to each other, hold hands and touch for heads in volume 6. I'm sorry, but until I see an on screen kiss, Blake and yang are nothing more than friends. If cinder were to grab yang, she could've used her as a hostage to get a staff. Using Yang as leverage would've done that. But no, CRWBY decides to just have her blow up people on a platform for dramatic effect. Causing Yang to fall only to catch her in the end would've done the same thing since for all the characters knew, Cinder was still recovering from her fight Penny (if she told them about it that is after she fell) Also she didn't focus her silver eyes in volume 5. They just went off as she screamed. They react to her emotions (as seen when Salem mentioned Summer in volume 7, albeit they flickered, but my point stands) They should do that all the time since she hasn't had any formal training even after meeting a former silver eyed warrior in volume 6!

So I pretty much had a lot of similar gripes with this episode. I got really annoyed when the scenes with RWBY ended because I wanted to see more of the fighting. I found it stupid that none of the characters, especially Weiss (who demonstrated she can pull people with glyphs regardless of where she is) couldn’t pull Yang up or plant a glyph under her. This is probably the first episode that had me very audibly yelling out things in anger. It also made me stop caring for Neo, like I didn’t want her to die before but now I’m just like “please someone just kill this bitch”. She’s getting on my nerves with her cool ass semblance. I don’t get why they didn’t have Weiss glide across her glyphs like before...? It looked wayyyy better and was probably less to animate. Also it looked like an ice skater pushing themself on one foot so it fits the whole ice skating vibe. Now she just looks like she took a dump in her underwear and is trying to keep it from falling out. With each volume my favorite character gets wonkier 🖐😔 For some reason when Ironwood killed Jacques, I actually felt bad. I don’t know why? It was weird. Robyn and Qrow can both die with the bomb and I wouldn’t care. They’re boring. I think the bomb thing is still going on cause the bomb’s explosion might carry through the doors; maybe that’s why they bothered to show the scene with the needles passing back through them. Winter... might survive... I’m not sure whether I want her to die but kill Ironwood or if I want her to kill Ironwood and take leadership over what’s left of Atlas. My thoughts on her are all over the place tbh. Who knows this volume is like a car accident: you want to look away but you can’t. I have enjoyed the volume though. I can’t wait to see how it ends. Also congrats on the new mic! It sounds really good!!

It feels like the writers write an episode after the one before it airs. They were like "Oh crap we introduced Salem as the villain of the volume but we got rid of her now we need a new one. How about Ironwood?" Then "Oh crap we got rid of Ironwood what do we do now? I know lets just make everyone a villain lets have like 4 battles going on with one episode left." Like this episode was so chaotic. It really feels like they didn't plan for the entire volume and now they have so many things to resolve that it cluttered to the end. The first part of this episode could have been an entire episode on it's own. Each battle could be like half of an episode but we're just smashing everything together at this point. Next episode has to be pretty long if they don't want this to be really rushed. Like what was the point of last episode if we were just going to see Ironwood and the Ace Ops back in action right away? If they defeated Ironwood then stick to it. Don't just add him and the Ace Ops back so they can steal time away from Team RWBY finally doing something. Like I was honestly kinda interested in Team RWBY for once then they immediately get time taken away for flashbacks because to hell with knowing plans as they happen, we need to be confused on how everyone got to this point so that we can get a 5 minute flashback explaining how everyone got to this point. I just want to know why we can't have a coherent and well-paced story. What happened in this latter half? I honestly can't believe how different I feel about the first half to this half. The only good thing to come from this episode is that people's theory about Ironwood regaining his senses after his aura broke (because people thought he was a "slave to his semblence") was completely wrong.

When Monty was still writing he story (may he Rest In Peace), RWBY was a more episodic. Fighting criminals, getting into Beacon, “Jaune’s Arc”, were all resolved in just a few episodes rather than the whole volume. At this point, RT writes volume long plots but each episode is written disconnected from each other. There’s a lack of foresight or simple planning for future scenes. There is a process in making these episodes, otherwise there wouldn’t be anything fun or interesting about these episodes.

I just noticed that Neo for some reason has the lamp still on her belt. Guess the heroes will be taking the lamp next episode then, otherwise I have no idea why would she bring it there. ALso they don't even have to read a book or look far to learn how to do a fight scene with no or little talking, they literally have to just look at volumes 1 to 3, even with dialogue during fights it was very fast paced and it never interrupted the flow, and the conversation actually made sense and was relevant to what was happening.

@Blobby :3 To be fair, in the shot where Yang is falling in slow motion we see Ruby, Neo, and Weiss reacting in slo-mo, and we can also clearly see Blake running across their screens to get to Yang. If Blake, the girls who was the furthest away from Yang can get to her in time, than Ruby, the girl who was standing right next to Yang and was uninjured and also has super speed powers, definitely could've made it to Yang in time. Or at the very least could've reacted to her only sister falling.

@@thejudgmentalcritter6584 To @Blobby 's credit, Ruby's Semblance has been countered before. In V3, Ruby tried to use her Semblance to get past Mercury. Although Penny now claims that Ruby's real Semblance is the ability to break herself down to the molecular level to negate her mass and travel faster, Mercury was still able to kick her. Because of this oversight, it is possible that Neo was able to somehow negate Ruby's Semblance just as she was about to use it to save Yang. It's a bullshit option due to CRWBY's negligence, but it's a possibility nonetheless.

Volume 3 still withstands as the best volume in RWBY purely because shit actually happened the way Villains wanted it to. Cinder and her crew methodically broke down the academy and it's students and it all culminated in this climatic end. Ever since however the writing for Cinder has gone down the fucking drain, she's so comedically bad villain who is smug all the damn time despite multiple times being decked by someone better than her and yet here she is... AGAIN... being smug while she is "2" vs 4 people... it takes one person to hold back and distract Neo, that person being Ruby who Neo is after anyway.... and yet Cinder is still like "haha yes, I can take on Penny, Weiss and Blake one of which is a Maiden and beat me the fuck up earlier THIS volume which would have been chronilogically 2 days ago"

Look, I LIKE RWBY. When I first watch episodes, I don't see the bad until I watch a reaction video like this. But this is a HUGE EXCEPTION. I really didn't enjoy this. You said it yourself, Cinder is doing the same $hit over and over again and when Watts (2 episodes ago!), exposed Cinder for everything she did wrong and She still monologues. I get it was all a trick for Neo to kill RubY but Jesus WHY!?! On top of that, The entire episode gets the V5 Haven treatment with nothing really meaningful happening. These writers better watch these videos and take notes, because this episode was straight BS from start to finish.

There are some parts that take away the suspense factor and other parts that're pretty good. I'm glad someone noticed that Ruby didn't really act as emotional as Blake did, I was questioning the "Ruby and Yang aren't really sisters" theory. The times Ruby reacted to Yang getting really hurt, is just terrible. I know they were split for like 3 volumes in a half but still, if I was split from my sibling for a year I would still show emotion if I found out they we're paralyzed. I just dislike it.

This chapter pissed me off six ways from Sunday. First, Ironwood decides to outright OBLITERATE Jacques after casually walking out of his conveniently open cell, yet he sheds a tear at Winter because she was his trusted ally, even though Jacques was arguably as powerful as he once was?! Second, Yang can tank a super powered energy attack from Adam, yet gets knocked out by a thin metal blade from Neo?! Third, why is Blake the one to call for and try to save Yang when Ruby was RIGHT THERE?!

It just occured to me - I think a reason why they have like 3 different climaxes in this volume in the last 6 episodes is because they always start the new volume like - at a rest is the easiest way to put it. Everyone's relaxed; the people are exploring a new environment; new characters and concepts are being introduced etc etc. They can't start a volume with like, chaos and stuff because idk they have this idea since the beginning that "only stuff can really happen at the END of a volume". So they realize they set up too much the whole volume at a sloths pace, and then when they actually need to wrap up all these plot points and then they get rushed, so they can start a new volume and repeat this frustrating cycle again and again and again. Like to me, it's as though Miles and Karry get their memories erased Men in Black style at the end of each volume to me because that is the only way a writer could possibly make literally the same volume and make the same mistakes over and over and over again
