If you remember, during V6, Neo initially wanted to kill Cinder for Torchwick's death, but Cinder convinced her to kill Ruby instead. Neo isn't really mad at Ruby personally, she just wants someone to blame for Torchwicks death and to take her anger out o that person

Also, Neo doesn't KNOW exactly how Torchwick died. When she was thrown off the ship, Ruby and Torchwick were the only people there, so it does make sense for her to assume that Ruby was responsible for his death as the only other person around.

The writers are diabolical, that is probably the worst emotional torture I have watched. And Cinder manipulated Neo into blaming Ruby, she doesn't know Ruby killed Roman, but she believes it. And since Neo suffered terribly after his death, she wants company.

roman says as much "Offing Little Red can't be ALL you wanted...right?" cause it was all she wanted, she'd been consumed by revenge for so long that she had nothing left to live for after that

And at that point in time, Ruby didn't know what the tree would do to her, so she was okay with the possibility of unaliving herself

According to the V9 director's commentary, they had explained that Neo landed into a certain land that enhanced her and made her powers evolve.

@@BlakeevkReacts They showed it in chapter 3 when she took on the bandersnatch, she started making clones and seemed surprised by it. Hard to give exposition on someone who is mute though lol. Also Neo wasn't present for Roman's death, Ruby popped her umbrella and she flew away off the ship. So all she knows is that Ruby and Torchwick were fighting on top of the ship and Torchwick died.

@@theeliax7374 the blame really falls on Ozpin if you actually want to blame someone because he planted the seeds to all his students and gave really horrible advice From Ozpin to Ruby: “Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you are not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?” Even before that he addresses the entire congregation of incoming students telling them they’re nothing but wasted energy that need to up their game. (Not in verbatim but close) Even Coco used Ozpin’s advice to reiterate to Ruby in the After the Fall novel: In the After the Fall novel. "The whole school was. Every moment," Coco said. "And you should remember that, because your team is also going to be watching you all the time, following your example. Following your orders. As good as you are, Ruby, you have to try to be even better-for them. You can't show weakness. You can't be weak, because they're depending on you to keep them safe." It’s not all on Yang and the rest as they were fed this info too. Yang never pushed Ruby. She just followed her and believed in her and then experiences a moment of doubt in V8 but learned to change her tune and showing it after they reunited showing that sisters have disagreements but it doesn’t mean they can’t work things out. She told Ruby when Ruby was feeling discouraged and hopeless, “You were being optimistic. Look, blind optimism isn't great, but no optimism means we already lost. We need hope. “ We need to take risks.” Which is something they both knew but had to be reminded of Self doubt is a product of negative experiences and each member of Team RWBY has been there. In storytelling, a protagonist gets their own deconstruction arc during the Act 2 phase and then finally a regroup and heal moment. Ruby was definitely a build of factors surrounding her mom and her imposter syndrome. And who’s a person’s worst enemy? One’s self.

This is probably my single favorite episode of the series after Volume 3 As a writer I love a good "lowest moment" for the hero and they didn't pull any punches with how brutal it got and I respect the hell out it! It makes her journey and transformation at the end feel all the more earned and satisfying because of how brutal this scene goes. RWBY is perfect at balancing the dark and light elements of the story (it is one of the many MANY reasons why I don't think Penny is actually gone for good as her story as it stands is too depressing) and volume 9 captures it perfectly!

Neo’s entire purpose for living at this point was getting revenge on Ruby. After she did it, she felt she no longer had any purpose, which is why everything she made began to crumble

they arent saying neo didnt want revenge on ruby, roman says "that cant be all you wanted". Neo essentially had a goal she obsessed over to the point that there is nothing else left for her after obtaining it. Neo legit has nothing left at all, her only motivation was killing ruby so with that goal complete she had literally nothing else in life. It kinda like working long hours at a job for months to get a car, finally achieving that goal, then feeling empty since your goal and motivation to keep doing all this is gone

Hearing Ruby say "I am sorry. I don't want to be me anymore" guts me every time. Also, sorry to say, but from my perspective, Cinder is going to be the final boss. I know Salem is the big boss but her main driving force of all the destruction is from the Grimm influence. I think they are going to somehow get rid of that part of her, probably through silver eyes. After that, she is just an immortal human. All Cinder wants is more power. I think Cinder will get most if not all of the Maiden powers (which would suck cause that means Winder and Raven have to die) and everyone will have to work together, including Salem to take her down. Then the gods come back, see everyone working together, and absolve Salem of her curse, etc...
