I'm real late but Hmm we must been watching a different video. Being a GM guy from birth till now and owning 7 3 -5th gens Camaros bk till age 14. To my 02 Z28 mystic teal factory color shift LS base true stock tq arm suspension small tire car. I was the 1st to put a F body on factory base sub. In the 80s, 5.80s in the 1/8 mile. This how we judge if a car can pull you bk in and even if you look at the later runs. The c8 with less H.P still Ford couldn't pull him bk in to even win the shorter distance 1/8 mile. And even the longer distance the mustang still couldn't do it after being given that longer 1/4 distance. That's how we judge if the other car was actually the fastest. From 60ft , 300ft and on the mustang was dead. That's a bad whooping in grudge race terms

@@god1st.530 Its not that deep dude. Mustang power bands shine on the top end. You can clearly see the GT500 reeling the c8 in quick after a certain point. This race is from a dig and i would 100% expect a mid engine car to launch better and have an advantage despite less HP in a short race. Especially if it is using launch control. Now race from a roll. GT500 skulls drags the C8. Z06 gets skull dragged from a roll race too. Its not even close. So not sure why you are splitting hairs. Its not hard to acknowledge the c8 will shine from a dig in a short race and the GT500 will wipe the floor with it in a roll race.

For 760hp vs 495hp , giving up 265hp says a lot. This is just the entry level stingray. Now the z06 is out, then can you imagine the zr1 and then the zora? The z06 supposedly pulls a mid 10 and puts out 670hp and stilll 90hp less. That z06 is purposely built. Not only straight line but will eat the corners. Most of the races I've seen the C8s win the race. The best chance the GT500 has in on a prepped track. It suffers the same problem the Hellcat Red Eye has. It has to be perfect to win. It needs to the perfect track prep, perfect weather and perfect driver as the C8 can consistently run 10.9s to 11.2s.

Damn.. Just imagine if Ford put any effort into making a decent launch control. I mean, not really surprising, coming from the maker of exploding batteries. They're just not that good with electronics.

Love the vette in that lime green. Here in Oz many moons ago we had a GM Holden called a SLR 5000 Torana in lime green. One of my fav cars 😙

Matt, though you missed an opportunity here. Could have spent a lot more time at the Car’s & Coffee. Let us see some more of the cars. Maybe talk to some of the other C8 owners. Make it the whole vlog. Then in the next vlog walk around the drag strip and show some of the other cars racing. Just a thought.
